Developing, w/Video- Atleast 100 Killed In Landing Crash At Sudan Airport

KHARTOUM, Sudan — About 100 passengers were reportedly killed when a commercial jet crashed and exploded upon landing at an airport in the Sudan, Africa, according to Sudanese TV.
The number of dead was unconfirmed by officials.
The plane burst into flames after apparently veering off a runway at the airport in Khartoum.
About 200 passengers are thought to be aboard, but the specific number of casualties remained unclear.
Dow Jones reported that a number of the passengers managed to escape the aircraft.
Al Jazeera TV filmed the burning crash wreckage and rescue, capturing dramatic real-time video footage.
Ambulances and fire trucks were seen rushing to the scene after the accident Tuesday night.
The plane was flying from Amman, Jordan. It was not immediately clear what airline was involved.

June 10th, 2008 at 12:22 pmI should have known better but the thought about Sudan having airplanes was a shock to me. When i think of Sudan i think about a bunch of tribal people just running around with a machete and a loin cloth. not trying to be a smartass, just the odd way i saw it.

Your not too wrong. Its just that a few of them wash up, put on a uniform and fly big passanger jets. Scary no?
