The schools in California are at best ranked 43rd in the nation and more like 47 or 48 when all the factors are measured that rank the states in educational acumen.
Everybody should home school if they cannot afford a private school. What a jerk this guy is saying without shame the comments he made to Laura.
Oh-by-the-way in California there is a bill that if implemented will stop kids from saying things like, my mother and father. Little Johnny if he is feeling kind of sissyish can go to the girls bathroom so he can sit down instead of stand up at a urinal. And if Little Jannie feels more tom-boyish on a particular day, she can go into the boys room to take a wiz. It is all about not hurting the FEELINGS of the kids who do not have traditional families and therefore traditional family values. This is just crazy here. It’s a blue state alright, blue from the loss of oxygen to the brain. Unfreaking real! The tyranny of the minority. Help!

One required class should have been manners, because most (not all) of the kids were rude nasty brats, and their parents were rude, pushy and aggresive, and this is in a supposedly “upper middle class” neighborhood. The supposedly “nice” middle school has gang activity, which they tolerate. I can assure you the middle school my girl will go to will NEVER get close to “tolerating” gang activity.

What the professor failed to say is that, there is a vast network of specialists that home schooled children can access. This networking can help them excel in subjects that are beyond the scope of their parents.

June 28th, 2008 at 2:21 pmMy oldest is turning 3 soon and you can bet your ass I will be investigating the local schools before I make my decision as to public school, private school or home school. Personally, I am leaning towards home schooling.
June 28th, 2008 at 7:35 pmBeen of the computer for a couple days getting ready to celebrate my youngest child’s graduation from high school–our third–and they have all been homeschooled from 6th, 4th, and 2nd respectively and they have all hit 90th percentile in ACTs. Ask yourself how much time a teacher actually spends with a student each day in a thirty student classroom on subjects worth learning–we spend more one-on-one time in a day than most students get in a month. And we don’t waste school hours on homosexual indoctination.
High school subjects are not that hard and with the books available you can re learn a subject with your student. Opportunities for single students or small groups of students are amazing. All three of ours worked at the state capital for either a state senator or a state rep. they have a much better grasp of how laws get passed than I did after taking public school government class.
We are like a public school in some ways…boys and girls get to use the same bathroom.
