Previous “Deep Thoughts”
4:39 A.M.
First of all, thanks to everyone helping out with our ongoing fundraiser. We’re doing well so far, but still a long way from our goal, from where we need to be. It’s just very important and much-needed to keep things rolling, help Bash who has pulled back from his family business to work here, the unexpected hits I took with both medical and Hollywood issues lately, and like most independent bloggers we depend on our readers to keep us going full time. Plus we have some outside projects coming up with Right Hand Girl and others at the conventions. We’re looking for a simple $1 a week recurring debit/credit or paypal charge, which is easy as pie to set up right here. Thanks so much, again, plenty of good times to roll, and trouble to make….
What a situation between Hillary and Hussein. She may bring him down yet, even without the nomination…
5:46 A.M.
According to today’s New York Post:
He (Hussein) tried to call her (Hillary) twice following the speech - but got her voicemail. She finally returned the call as his plane was about to fly out of St. Paul to Washington.

I find it interesting that Tom Kruse, inventor of The Hoveround chair for the disabled, is now having a bigger career than the other Tom with the same last name.
6:32 A.M.
Anybody notice that Hussein lost 7 of the last 10 primaries?
6:37 A.M.
Gloves off, the campaign ahead is going to be nasty, as long as McCain realizes his job is to FIGHT, not play some elegant parlor game between gentlemen. If he really believes that Hussein will lead this country and much of the world down the road to ruin, especially in the face of the Islamist threat to crush the West, than he has to stop worrying about his image as a gentleman, and fight exclusively to win. Fuck this “no negative campaigning” bullshit I’ve heard for years. There is no such thing as a rational campaign that does not point out the faults of one’s opponent. I have one term for negative campaigning ( outside of lying and other obvious over the top bullshit ) and that term is: appropriate and responsible campaigning.
Hussein and McCain’s swipes at each other last night:
McCain:
“Both Sen. Obama and I promise we will end Washington’s stagnant, unproductive partisanship. But one of us has a record of working to do that and one of us doesn’t,” McCain said. “Americans have seen me put aside partisan and personal interests to move this country forward. They haven’t seen Sen. Obama do the same. For all his fine words and all his promise, he has never taken the hard but right course of risking his own interests for yours; of standing against the partisan rancor on his side to stand up for our country. He is an impressive man, who makes a great first impression. But he hasn’t been willing to make the tough calls; to challenge his party; to risk criticism from his supporters to bring real change to Washington. I have.”
Hussein:
Because while John McCain can legitimately tout moments of independence from his party in the past, such independence has not been the hallmark of his presidential campaign.
It’s not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush 95 percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.
It’s not change when he offers four more years of Bush economic policies that have failed to create well-paying jobs, or insure our workers, or help Americans afford the skyrocketing cost of college—policies that have lowered the real incomes of the average American family, widened the gap between Wall Street and Main Street, and left our children with a mountain of debt.
And it’s not change when he promises to continue a policy in Iraq that asks everything of our brave men and women in uniform and nothing of Iraqi politicians—a policy where all we look for are reasons to stay in Iraq, while we spend billions of dollars a month on a war that isn’t making the American people any safer.
So I’ll say this—there are many words to describe John McCain’s attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush’s policies as bipartisan and new. But change is not one of them.
One last note. While a lot of white males voted for Hussein over Hillary, let’s not forget that a lot of that may have had to do with Hillary’s gender and last name.
There will be another choice on the ballot besides her come this November.

At AIPAC this morning Hussein once again took the position that it’s a no-brainer that dialogue will get Iran to stop building the bomb. Yet failed to even hint at what would be said to them to get them to stop. Surprised? Let’s not forget, he voted against calling Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. I think he really believes playing nice will lead to success.

Smoltz to have season-ending shoulder surgery
ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz says he will have season-ending shoulder surgery, but hopes to return in 2009.
The Braves called a news conference before Thursday’s game against the Florida Marlins to discuss Smoltz’s ailing shoulder.
Smoltz and general manager Frank Wren declined comment until the briefing, but the pitcher said on his radio show that he will miss the rest of the season.

(AP) - George Lucas has created legendary film heroes like Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones, but the US director says that in real life, his hero is Barack Obama.
“We have a hero in the making back in the United States today because we have a new candidate for president of the United States, Barack Obama,” Lucas said when asked who his childhood heroes were.
Obama, “for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero,” Lucas said.
8:51 A.M.
McCain just minutes ago challenged Hussein to a series of 10 Town Hall debates, beginning next week and continuing to the election, instead of the usual press-questioning format.
He’s also stealing Hussein’s talking points. He just said “This election is about change. But about the right kind of change, the change to move ahead, and not backwards.”
Well done.

Hussein and Hillary forced to speak today:
WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama spoke directly with his vanquished rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday and expressed optimism they could achieve party unity after their bruising battle for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Obama and Clinton ran into each other backstage at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee meeting, which they addressed separately Wednesday morning.
The Illinois senator disclosed he had spoken with Clinton, who was not in the Senate, earlier on the day after he claimed the nomination and she stopped short of conceding.
“I just spoke to her today, and we’re going to be having a conversation in coming weeks. And I’m very confident how unified the Democratic party’s going to be to win in November,” Obama told reporters as he left the Senate.
Asked if Clinton indicated she planned to concede, Obama replied, “It wasn’t a detailed conversation. As I said, I’m very confident of how we’re going to be able to bring the party together.” He dismissed a question about her refusal to concede after the final two primaries Tuesday night by saying she was “understandably focused on her supporters.”
Clinton herself made no mention of the question on the minds of Democrats everywhere - her future plans.

Once again, having our June fundraising drive. If we meet our goal of 1,000 $1 a week subscribers, we no longer have to do these every few months. That’s right, not looking for $52 right now, just a $1 a week recurring debit/credit or paypal charge, extremely easily set up here. Thanks to all who have been helping, we are moving ahead, and should meet our goal. If today’s not the right day, we’ll be running this through June, and hopefully done with meeting our operating costs for good.

June 4th, 2008 at 4:20 amOf course Obama is going to be the First Black President. The bible says, in the final days there will be a leader and he will come from the East! Hello “Obama” Middle East” Muslim. Hillary is not going to win, no where in the Bible does it say we are going to have a female for president. Thank goodness! Not any better having Obama, things will be worse. So start preparing for some major life changes people!
June 4th, 2008 at 4:59 am“So start preparing for some major life changes people!”
Yes, indeed I have…I find myself often thinking about what is going to happen here if Hussein becomes president with a democratic congress. Seriously, will we just sit by and allow our great nation to become a big socialist/marxist state? Are we going to sit and watch our federal government go soft on Islamists and terrorism? Fuck that. I’ll do everything within my power to throw them out before they shit on the traditions and ways of life that made this country what it is.

June 4th, 2008 at 6:52 amGina’s much better than a fat chick in a beret.
I bet Hillary is jealous.
June 4th, 2008 at 7:01 amYep, Hussein won 56% of MT, over Hilary and half of the 17 super delegates so far. McCain whipped Paul here too. What I didn’t know..at a few beers after voting… is a lot of military families went over to Obama because of the abuse they suffered under Rumsfeld etc. in the beginning of the Iraq war. I.e., double and triple Guard and Regulars deployments, indaequate equipment, obscure goals, DoD and VA medical coverage shinanigans and so on. One Guardsman told me they felt the only way to straighten that out is out with the old, and in with the new. Ufta! Wait untill Obama starts to micromanage the military.
June 4th, 2008 at 7:53 amIt amazes me that George Lucas can create great heroes for Hollywood, but when it comes to real life, he, Spielberg and the bunch of them are CLUELESS when it comes to what it means to be a hero. Look at who they have support politically - its like a list of Liberal dhimmi who’s who, with the Obamination at the top now. How the Obamination is heroic in any sense of the word is beyond me… I think Lucas took too many bong hits in his younger days

June 4th, 2008 at 2:51 pmThanks for keeping me alive. I just felt very grateful that after so many times in Iraq when I wasn’t expecting to be able to do such things, being still able to do silly things like post Gina Gershon pix is a miracle, almost surreal. To just still be here….is a gift the feeling of which is beyond words to describe. It’s almost surreal, and despite my many troubles, I’m happy to be here, and ain’t about to stop fighting…

“Though it tarries, wait for it…” Habakkuk 2:3
Patience is not the same as indifference; patience conveys the idea of someone who is tremendously strong and able to withstand assaults. Having the vision of God is the source of patience because it gives us God’s true and proper inspiration. Moses endured, not because of his devotion to his principles of what was right, nor because of his sense of duty to God, but because he had a vision of God. “…he endured as seeing Him who is invisible”(Hebrews 11:27). A person who has the vision of God is not devoted to a cause or a particular issue- he is devoted to God himself. You always know when the vision is of God because of the inspiration that comes with it. Things come to you with greatness and add vitality to your life because everything is energized by God. He may give you a time spiritually, with no word from Himself at all, just as His Son experienced during His time of temptation in the wilderness. When God does that, simply endure, and the power to endure will be there because You see God.
“Though it tarries wait for it….” The proof that we have the vision is that we are reaching out for more than we have already grasped. It is a bad thing to be satisfied spiritually. The psalmist said,”What shall I render to the Lord…?” I will take up the cup of salvation…”(Psalm 116:12-13). We are apt to look for satisfaction within ourselves and say, “Now I’ve got it! Now I am completely sanctified. Now I can endure.” Instantly we are on the road to ruin. Our reach must exceed our grasp. Paul said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected;
but I press on…”(Philippians 3:12). If we have only what we have experienced, we have nothing. But if we have the inspiration of the vision of God, we have more than we can experience.
Press On!
