Previous “Deep Thoughts”
1:15 A.M.
First of all, thanks to everyone helping out with our ongoing June subscription drive. We’re doing well so far, but still a long way from our goal, from where we need to be. It’s just very important and much-needed to keep things rolling, help Bash who has pulled back from his family business to work here, the unexpected hits I took with both medical and Hollywood issues lately, and like most independent bloggers we depend on our readers to keep us going full time. Plus we have some outside projects coming up with Right Hand Girl and others at the conventions. We’re looking for a simple $1 a week recurring debit/credit or paypal charge, which is easy as pie to set up right here. Thanks so much, again, plenty of good times to roll, and trouble to make….
8:47 A.M.
Just got up. Blech…
8:51 A.M.
When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building’ by George Bush.
He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.
9:00 A.M.
Hillary’s “campaign suspension”/concession speech is supposed to be broadcast live within the half-hour or so…she’s “running late”…
10:00 A.M.
So Hillary’s been flapping her gums for a few minutes. I missed the very opening, but what I did hear was a full concession speech, and full and rousing-enough endorsement of the moron.
10:16 A.M.
Re: Hillary’s speech. There was no predicted chanting of “Denver!” by her supporters, and they all gave pretty strong applause whenever she called on them to vote the Moron in, although there were a few boos.
Best quote of the day so far was Chris Wallace after the speech: “I was a little surprised she spent so much time talking about herself.”
I had no idea Wallace would ever drink on the job.
10:24 A.M.
A day late and a Dollard short: as has happened a few times this year, a story we’ve already linked and/or commented has hit the Drudge Report a day or more later:
“Baby Miraculously Survives Abortion, Expected To Live Normal Life”
Is this pathetic, off-putting, juvenile - if not infantile - and probably irrelevant self-aggrandizement? Yes. But I was born a poor black child and such things just remind me of how far I’ve come…
10:32 A.M.
Scott Rasmussen, head of Rasmussen Polling: Dems are literally split 50-50 on whether Hillary and Bill should be Hussein’s Vice President.
By the way, Bob Barr did ask me, but I agreed to meet solely to beat the living shit out him, which I did in his living room. He paid me handsomely not to publish the photos.
1:30 P.M.
Domenica Davis needs a boob-job. We could hold a July fund-raiser for that.
1:38 P.M.
Video: 12 M-16’s missing after falling off Air Force truck in Utah…
3:11 P.M.
No one should be surprised that Hillary gave such a strong and rousing support of Hussein for President today. She’s campaigning for the damn VP spot. What’s going to be funny, is when all hell breaks loose when she doesn’t get it.
3:34 P.M.
Ever wonder what it’s like around my house?

NEW YORK (AP) - Da’ Tara spoils Big Brown’s bid for a Triple Crown by winning the Belmont Stakes.

Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet, excerpted from Poltico:
ABC’s “This Week” features interviews with two high-profile campaign surrogates — Massachusetts Sen. John F. Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a long-time McCain confidant.
ABC host George Stephanopoulos also sits down with the woman of the hour, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who hosted a secret late-night meeting between Obama and Clinton at her Washington home on Thursday.
“Fox News Sunday” leads the surrogate way with two governors often mentioned as possible vice presidential running mates — Minnesota Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty for McCain and Virginia Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine for Obama.
CBS’ “Face the Nation” features another Virginian also often reported to be on Obama’s short VP list: Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.).
CNN host Wolf Blitzer discusses the war on terror and the ongoing hunt for Osama bin Laden with Husain Haqqani, the Pakistani ambassador to the United States.

Damn, I wish this could legitimately be my family Christmas Card photo…
Something off topic. I’ve been discussing this with a few people. Has anyone developed a plan for the Zombie invasion?
June 7th, 2008 at 7:56 am
BTW… I wore my Jihadikiller T shirt the other day and I had two comments. The first was when I was in a furniture store and an employe wanted me to turn around so he could get the web address.. He went right on line.. loved it and said he found some presents for his step son who recently returned from Iraq. The other was when I stopped at a gourmet restaurant (McD’s) and this guy who had a one of the weirdest hair do’s (a modified Mohawk that stood straight up about 10 inches or so) said, “hey man, I love the shirt.. Made my day.. Other comments have been. “Oh, you have that shirt on again”..

I believe Ron Paul based his presidential campaign platform around that topic.
June 7th, 2008 at 8:13 amexactly! Ron Paul called his minions back from the dead. not to eat brains, but to vote for a ridiculous Presidential candidate
June 7th, 2008 at 8:21 amThat ain’t no joke, I wear my “Will kill for oil” shirt. I get into at least one conversation a day. I’m wearing my “Elephant” shirt today. About to put it on.

He is driving a beat up suburban with a mildy retarded dog.
I just found about this site. Have some left in the kitty? toss him some gas money.

Its Left Behind Again -
Im an active duty USMC wife. The name is due to my husband and I being away from each other longer then the days we have ever been together. Im not bitching about it by ANY means. Its just the way it goes when your country is at war and your married to a US Marine.
June 7th, 2008 at 9:30 amIm left behind to take care of the war on the home front
Do you think Bob Barr will be a Spoiler?
June 7th, 2008 at 10:09 amNot TOO deeply worried about it, but worried about it. Entirely possible in a couple of close states in which Barr already has some traction.
June 7th, 2008 at 10:18 amMarine Wives(and girlfriends)-hardest job in the Corps.
June 7th, 2008 at 10:23 amMaybe Nader will offset Barr.

June 7th, 2008 at 2:32 pmWe’re not going to give you Virginia, Obama, so don’t even try. Webb hasn’t done a damned thing for us. Kaine’s best accomplishment is not screwing things up.

June 7th, 2008 at 3:27 pmA friend of my oldest daughter is defending his middle weight title tonight … Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik (33-0, 29 KOs) against Gary Lockett (30-1, 21 KOs) … It’s on HBO out of Atlantic City.
June 7th, 2008 at 5:04 pmKelly “The Ghost” Pavlik (34-0, 30 KOs) 1:40 Round 3 - TKO

June 7th, 2008 at 7:02 pmCongrats.
June 7th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
drill the ghost kicks ass

June 7th, 2008 at 7:30 pmCripes! Now I gotta buy the kid a
if I run into him, when he should be buying me one!
The boxing talking heads on HBO were thinking aloud that since there isn’t a real heavy weight name contending in the boxing world, that the [weight] of promoting the sport today just might be on Kelly Pavlik’s ‘middle weight’ shoulders.
He’s a good guy … not a saint, but his heart is in the right place. I wish him luck if he really is expected to carry the future of an entire sport on his shoulders.
June 7th, 2008 at 8:08 pmTo all you wonderful Dollard Nation readers….

You drinking and listening to David Bowie?
—————————–
Hehehe First parts right (Mango Twist & Vodka), second parts Traffic, not Bowie.
June 7th, 2008 at 9:23 pmYou drinking and listening to David Bowie?
Dollard … You rusty?
Steve Winwood and Traffic, dude!
June 7th, 2008 at 9:24 pmLBA can listen to whatever the fuck LBA wants, Hell I’d even back up her whole Bowie collection after seeing “The Hunger”… B budget? Yes! But an 8* B budget in my opinion!
But seriously, as much as I despised “New Wave” in the 80’s as a “Heavy Metal/Hardcore Punk Rocker” I have to give that freak props for some of the best music I’ve NEVER liked… (Although there are a few great songs in the collection from musical standards… Damnit! I wish good music was as Black-N-White as Politics!)
Oh? That’s right, we were talking about drinking… Fuck the Pink Martini’s, I want strait shots of Salt, Tequila & Lime Wedges chased by Weinhard’s Ale OR Jaeger with a Heineken backer…
O.K. it’s a quarter after 4 here… A pot of coffee would be in order?
This is where some responsible party steps in an says “No Jonny, a nap would be in order”… LOL!

June 8th, 2008 at 3:39 amYeah, the “Ghost” beat the snot out of the guy, TKO in the 3rd. I WAS a big fan of him Pavlik untill he came out and supported the Hildabeast!
That just pissed me the fuck off so I have jumped from his bandwagon and couldn’t care less.
June 8th, 2008 at 4:47 amWill be interesting to see how ’supportive’ Pavlik will be of Hussein when he trots through the Valley on his jackass …
Remember, brother, in this area it’s in the DNA …
June 8th, 2008 at 6:27 amhttp://ptsdcombat.blogspot.com/2008/06/are-ptsd-medicated-veterans-dying-in.html
I wonder if the VA is drugging the soldiers, knowing they will die and thus no longer be a financial burden on the system. (”For the greater good”)
This article made MY adrenalin surge.
and in case you don’t know, it is supposed to be 120 degrees in Iraq this week.
“O God please give them energy”
June 8th, 2008 at 7:27 am10-4 on the DNA. Major reason the area is in the shits.. MV is a mirror image of Detroit.

June 8th, 2008 at 9:30 amCoast Guard Called in to Rescue Flooded Indiana Residents
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,364282,00.html
FRANKLIN, Indiana — Severe storms flooded central Indiana with as much as 10 inches of rain and spawned tornadoes that ripped up roofs and flipped tractor-trailers in Wisconsin and the Chicago suburbs.
We have had nothing but pouring rain here in IL for awhile. My lawn chairs are blowin’ off my deck today! It is windy as all hell and a whole lotta pouring rain.
I was just looking to see where the tornado was in Cook County IL when I saw this story.
I might need to buy a boat…

Just one of thoes days…
June 8th, 2008 at 10:33 amFinishing up my rough draft for Modern Military History midterm. Right now looks like it will be around 25 pages. The topics I chose for the first part were: MacArthur, Vietnam, and the Battle of Midway. For the second part, I have to write what I believe the future of American involvement in Iraq will be.
Grabbed 12 books for the library, altogether. There are only two grades; this and the final term paper. So I can only hope the nightly grinds I put into this will be worthwhile!
June 8th, 2008 at 10:43 amCan’t wait for the show tonight

June 8th, 2008 at 11:12 amI’ve tried listening to other BTR shows. Seems boring compared to Pat’s. You guys rock.

Oregon Toxicologist Says Treatment for PTSD Should Include Cannabis???
Give me a fucking break.
This is some fucking bullshit if I ever seen it.
Its the left wing Pro Illegal Drug groups hitching their legalize drugs agenda to the PTSD issue. Doing it for THEMSELVES not for the troops.
June 8th, 2008 at 11:27 amWhat a load of shit. They don’t give a damn about the Troops. They just want to legalize drugs. You didn’t get that from this article? Fucking Stevie Wonder could see that load of crap.
I am sure your midterm paper will be an excellent! Maybe you can share it with us too.
June 8th, 2008 at 11:47 amI got it from personal experience. I am really glad that you have never had ptsd. I believe God has given you the strength. I sincerely thank you for your service to our country as the wife of a Marine. I really mean that and I feel in debt to you.
I am not a left wing pro illegal drugs whatever you called me.
I am first a follower of Jesus Christ ( I fail everyday but I get up and try again.)
Second I am an American who still says “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…” everyday.
I am sorry you think otherwise. Did you read my post before about the Vets dying in their sleep from a cocktail of pharmafucking Legal drugs. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!! GOOD men do BAD shit when we are talking those kind of Bucks. It is the root of ALL evil. DAMN STRAIGHT!!!
Really I just want to help the vets comin home!!!

I have that up on my desk at work. That way I don’t have to get into it with anyone and risk getting canned. They still try to get under my skin by talking really loud about how wrong everything is that we are doing. They make me sick with their smug, ignorant views that mirror such pukes like the Archbishop of Canterbury.
10:24 A.M.
I used to be a Drudge reader but not since I found your site in early ‘07. I do look in there sometimes though. After all it was a link from Drudge that brought me here to begin with. So I thank him for that. He has fallen back quite a bit with things though. That is why PDYA is my home page.

10:32 A.M.
No photos!
That would be cool to see. I am glad you got some cash on that one.
1:30 P.M.
Sorry Pat. The only money I will donate for a boob-job would be for myself!
I am glad it has stopped storming out here and my internet connection is much better now.
It is great to see Jonny back again too.

Fist off littlefox - I never said anything about you - I was pointing out the BS article you posted a link to. If you feel as you do (That somehow I am attacking you or calling bullshit on YOU personally) maybe you need to look a little deeper into your own reasons for why your here? I never attacked YOU personally.
Second: YES, I have suffered from PTSD. I am also the SURVIVOR of a VERY serious and VICIOUS violet crime. I also got a LOT of personal experience. Because I don’t talk about it in an open forum, doesn’t mean I don’t know my shit on the subject. Trust me when I say I have earned a PHD on the street in regards to this subject.
I WILL point out BULLSHIT when I see it. Its just that HUGE part of me that believes in being HONEST.
Praying is very good, especially when it comes from the heart without any smug looking smiley after you say your going to do it. When you do pray, say a little one for yourself. I know sometime today I will also be saying one for you.
Good day.
June 8th, 2008 at 12:45 pmOfficial: 13 people dead in 2 Algerian bombings
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080608/ap_on_re_af/algeria_bombings
June 8th, 2008 at 12:53 pmYou’re not the only one that understood the post from littlefox like that…that was my interpretation as well.
littlefox
June 8th, 2008 at 1:03 pmI think you mean well, but maybe you should attempt to think, word, think again, then re-word prior to posting…seems a few of your post’s are, and I can’t believe I’m even using this word, “insensitive”. Now, I don’t give a shit, as most of the people here, but seems YOU took offense to a reply. Maybe this approach would be better to keep yourself from becoming offended and getting your feelings hurt.
littlefox
Weed is just another way to mask symptoms. It does not treat anything. In fact it can make it worse. I have seen it in people I care about. I would not advocate it for anyone no matter who they are or what their problems are.
Also, Jesus would not be advocating smoking any ganja to heal them of PSTD either. I don’t normally say much when I read things that bother me but in this case I felt the need. Your pious b.s. does nothing to me.
I was educated on the streets as well. I am hearing you. I have been unsettled by comments such as the above.
June 8th, 2008 at 1:17 pmThe most useful attribute of vaporizers is that a patient can easily determine the titration of his inhalation dose within seconds to the dosage which provides relief. The country of Israel, which has been in near constant warfare for fifty plus years, has recognized the benefits of medical marijuana for the treatment of PTSD. It is hopeful that their experience will soon get to the U.S. Of course, the Israelis have the Hebrew bible to fall back on. Kaneh bosum (cannabis) was used in biblical times as medicine.
June 8th, 2008 at 3:31 pmOk, littlefox, you’ve evidently had a heat stroke, or…maybe it’s time to put the bong aside.
June 8th, 2008 at 3:53 pm“Of course, the Israelis have the Hebrew bible to fall back on. Kaneh bosum (cannabis) was used in biblical times as medicine.”
____
What you are doing is twisting scripture to make if fit your needs. The use of it is found in Exodus 30 but it is as an ingredient in the Holy Anointing oil. To anoint places in the Tabernacle.
There is a strict order to not use these ingredients for any other purpose and whoever does shall be cut off from his people.
You are regurgitating some tired old pro-pot argument which has its foundation in the desire to justify using pot.
Period.
Now go out your door, head north about a half mile, splash some of that water on your face, and enjoy looking at all those sailboats in the marina and anchored just offshore there…that is a good, natural high.

June 8th, 2008 at 4:02 pmI do not think drugs are the answer. I am all for natural highs.
Maybe we should outlaw
THE MOST abused and deadly drug around. (O yeah, they tried that, it just caused crime)
I am really sorry I stir up so much anger here. It is not my intention.
I am sober. Yeah, Jesus delivered me from the grip of alcoholism 17 years ago. It was nothing I did, It was a miracle.
I am just a saved wretch on this angry planet trying to give the GI’s a peaceful, beautiful vacation when they get home.
Again, I am truly sorry you are all so pissed at me. That first post of mine was an email I got this morning and it makes me so sad the vets are dying in their sleep from prescribed drugs. It is not right.
It seems I’m in the wrong place… again.

June 8th, 2008 at 7:29 pmSomebody wake up Dollard … and throw a cold bucket of water on Welsh
June 8th, 2008 at 7:56 pmUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHHHHHHH!
Okay!
I’m fucking finished!
Strapping on the fucking suicide bomb and heading in …
THIS is a milblog site, whose readers, although not commenting, ARE reading the comments … and a very huge number of them ARE active duty MILITARY and their families!! THEY have our undying respect, love, support, gratitude, and totally-blown-away admiration for everything they have sacrificed, and continue to sacrifice in loyal and brave service to our country.
At the start of the A-stan and Iraq Wars, at the first mumble of the word Vietnam, from some fucking windbag with media access I decided I was going to have the backs of our guys (and gals) in uniform. I was 12 yrs. old and helpless at the height of the bullshit against the Vietnam war and our military … but NOT this time. I gotta voice and a venue now … and I’ll be damned if I’ll sit quietly any longer.
Keeping in kind what I said above about being a milblog, and our readership here, I find it unacceptable your CONTINUED harping on this concept of returning military suicide rates … and how much they will surpass the KIAs of this war. (And now this vets and drugs bullshit?!?!?)
You made your point the first dozen times you brought it up … Your offered info/links on the subject matter is out there in blog archives for anyone who cares to look it up.
I am asking … TELLING you to cease mentioning it again.
As far as I am concerned you are a Tokyo Rose … and are fully aware of what you are doing and saying, and WHO you are trying to effect with your comments. And it sure as hell ain’t us lowly civvies …
Alright, Dollard … Go ahead, pull the plug on me. I feel cleansed and am ready for Carousel …
June 8th, 2008 at 11:32 pmI honestly thought Jihadi Killers with Welsh and Dollard was on Friday nights (Please feel free to punch me in the Right eye first…)
I’ll go out on a limb here and suggest that Pat may just need a couple days break from us… We can be a bit demanding from time to time… I personally found my 30 day break to be quite refreshing actually… The ability to read a half dozen John Grisham and James Paterson Books is oddly therapeutic in my honest opinion (Paterson is far more entertaining and educational, regardless of the fact that Grisham is technically the better writer of the two… It’s strange how it works that way sometimes… That said “The Firm” still takes top billing as one of the best books written in that genre…)
Back to the subject at hand; I predict that Pat will be back stronger than ever (still kicking ass and then taking names… Thus explaining why we all have pen names!… LOL!)
Wagers anybody? Come on, put me through college and Pat in the White House if you think I’m wrong!
June 9th, 2008 at 6:15 amPat in the White House is a great idea….
Also:
WELCOME BACK!
June 9th, 2008 at 6:30 amYour right… Me in college would probably cause class disruptions!
me being the conservative class clown in a liberal economics class and all!
I’m still trying to play catch up (Hell, you know me… I’m usually playing catch up when I’m on top of things!)… been skimming the threads to see what I missed, should be up to 1/2 speed by Tuesday/Wednesday… Turning in apps today for regular jobs… will need prayers in case I get an on the spot interview… (I’m quite proud of my Old School ZZ-Top-ish beard now… But I figured saying “Sure, I can shave it off… I’m not as attached to my beard as it is to me” would be an indelibly charming statement?)
How you and the Hubby been? Hope you kids get a chance to Hook-up soon! I owe you both at least a round of drinks for all you’ve both given up for our country!

maybe its not a fact of being right or wrong. but I would have to agree with littlefox, i dont think drugs are the answer to everything. Maybe a change in atmosphere and company could make a huge difference. The sun on your face, the wind in your hair and a bible on your lap. Even a couple of friends to bring a smile or two. Drugs dont make you better they just cover up the problem temporially.
