While I think that people who are offended by the confederate flag are small-minded cry-babies, who do not understand its real history, these kids were obviously trying to provoke some kind of reaction by flying it on a day at the end of the school year, in the state of Minnesota. Does this warrant a ban from graduation ceremonies? Absolutely not. If it was “offending” people, they could have just been told to take it down.

  2. Mike from the Republic of Texas

I agree fully Cooper…… if it is not the confederate battle flag those who know the difference know what I am talking about when I say that the confedrate flag (non-battle colors) are warranted when talking about history but in the case of these kids, the question is raised what is the purpose behind it. One could put a swastika on the back of their pickup as long before the Nazi’s it was a Hindu and Buddhist good luck symbol. But, we all know better don’t we. So why in Minnesota is it so important that these kids fly a Conferderate BATTLE FLAG and not the Stars and Bars. Get back to me on that.

  3. Firebad

Should of been flying the stars and stripes.

Besides who wants to root for the side that lost.

Florida born and raised, I still don’t understand it and I hang out with alot of the southern style people.

Hells bells, if that’s all they do let ‘em have their fun, for Christ’s sake…

  5. Travis

I fly a Confederate flag as well as a American and Texas flag on the intrance of my ranch. All have their importance and I have had many relatives die for each one. Its not about hating Blacks.

  6. cllucas

    Agreed with Travis.

Maybe if he’d flown the “Bonnie Blue” or the 1st National…I’m a Lee by heritage therefore a proud Southerner, but my family fought under the S&S before that war and have been in all the wars after, again under the S&S…they shoulda known it’d piss someone off.

Country? Yah, fly the flag. Heritage and don’t want to piss people off? Pick another historical flag…hek, look at the changes to the Georgia State flag? It took off the offensive S&B but stuck to heritage.
