June 2nd, 2008 at 2:08 pmMy ex’s father was in the USMC back in the early 50’s and was involved in tests where they were a couple of miles away from an atmospheric blast in a slit trench then got up and marched towards ground zero to see the effects on their abilities to fight.
I don’t think he suffered any damage but then there was his daughter (my ex) so could have been some DNA stuff going on.

My old man did it as well and lived to be 75. The only thing he had from the exposure were some brown spots on his arms, which the VA told him were common with those involved in the tests.
