What was that about an inadequate black male? What a perfect glimpse at how this guy both understands and will handle the challenges of foreign policy.

From Jerusalem Post:

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama did not rule out Palestinian sovereignty over parts of Jerusalem when he called for Israel’s capital to remain “undivided,” his campaign told The Jerusalem Post Thursday.

“Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided,” Obama declared Wednesday, to rousing applause from the 7,000-plus attendees at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference.

But a campaign adviser clarified Thursday that Obama believes “Jerusalem is a final status issue, which means it has to be negotiated between the two parties” as part of “an agreement that they both can live with.”

“Two principles should apply to any outcome,” which the adviser gave as: “Jerusalem remains Israel’s capital and it’s not going to be divided by barbed wire and checkpoints as it was in 1948-1967.”

He refused, however, to rule out other configurations, such as the city also serving as the capital of a Palestinian state or Palestinian sovereignty over Arab neighborhoods.

“Beyond those principles, all other aspects are for the two parties to agree at final status negotiations,” the Obama adviser said.

Many on the right of the political spectrum among America’s Jews welcomed Obama’s remarks at AIPAC, but the clarification of his position left several cold.

“The Orthodox Union is extremely disappointed in this revision of Senator Obama’s important statement about Jerusalem,” said Nathan Diament, director of public policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations. He had sent out a release Wednesday applauding Obama’s Jerusalem remarks in front of AIPAC.

“In the current context, everyone understands that saying ‘Jerusalem… must remain undivided’ means that the holy city must remain unified under Israeli rule, as it has been since 1967,” Diament explained.

“If Senator Obama intended his remarks at AIPAC to be understood in this way, he said nothing that would reasonably lead to such a different interpretation.”

Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America and another Jewish activist who had originally lauded Obama’s statement, now called the candidate’s words “troubling.”

“It means he used the term inappropriately, possibly to mislead strong supporters of Israel that he supports something he doesn’t really believe,” Klein charged.

Washington Post:

Facing criticism from Palestinians, Sen. Barack Obama acknowledged today that the status of Jerusalem will need to be negotiated in future peace talks, amending a statement earlier in the week that Jerusalem “must remain undivided.”

Obama, during a speech Wednesday to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-israel lobbying group, had called for Jerusalem to become the site of the U.S. embassy, a frequent pledge for U.S. presidential candidates. (It is now in Tel Aviv.) But his statement that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel drew a swift rebuke from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

“This statement is totally rejected,” Abbas told reporters in Ramallah. “The whole world knows that holy Jerusalem was occupied in 1967 and we will not accept a Palestinian state without having Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.”

Obama quickly backtracked today in an interview with CNN.

“Well, obviously, it’s going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues. And Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations,” Obama said when asked whether Palestinians had no future claim to the city.

Can anyone with some insight on it explain why Jewish voters prefer Obama to McCain 57 to 35%.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/107689/Early-Gallup-Road-Map-McCainObama-Matchup.aspx#2

Is it because Jewish Americans have lost touch with Isreal, because they are very liberal and think negotiations with Iran are the best answer, because they are afraid of Christians and thus vote for more secular democrats, because of historical wrongs against them by Republicans?

    Whats up?

  3. Eric

Jewish American voters, and for that matter, the vast majority of Jewish voters in Israel (Israel grants Arabs the right to vote too - something most Arabs can’t do in Arab states - at least real votes that actually count)are largely secular Jews; Jews by race not Jews by religious practice. Only about 10% of Jews are conservative.

I think after the disaster of Hitler nearly wiping them out, instead of turning to G-d they felt abandoned and rejected G-d. Is was now up to them to create their own future and live their own life apart from G-d. The result is
rather pathetic: they have sought money, have very few children - except the Orthodox, and have decided war at any cost is bad, so avoiding war at any cost is good. This of course, only leads to war as the more land for peace you give up the more pieces of your land the Arabs want…until evry Jews is removed.

Interesting points Eric, but I would have thought that secular Jews would be as aware as the orthodox Jews of the horrific danger that the insane Iranian regime presents. Or do they just not care?

Comrade Obama hasn’t yet figured out what the Internet is all about.

Keep in mind the MSM is cheerleading for Obambi. Most people still get their “news” from the MSm.

My (limited) understanding is that Jews spearheaded several major civil rights groups/unions soon after WW2. This is understandable seeing the heinous crimes they suffered at the hands of the third Reich. They helped fund and support these groups diligently over the years, and probably the most obvious modern day equivalent is Soros.

However what these Jewish rights activist didn’t foresee years ago is the hijacking of their methods of awareness and for support by more unscrupulous sinister groups today who fervently hold Israel in contempt eg. CAIR. So Jews who have long and close ties with activism in the US appear confused or have chosen to care more for their contribution to human right awareness than for the right of Israel to exist.

Let’s not forget that some of Russia’s finest Marxist were atheistic Jews also; the Bolshevik Jews were very hostile to Jewish culture. The Socialist Party in Germany was also lead by notable Jews Bernstein and Landsberg as well.

Seeing that the Democratic Party has moved far left and knowing Obama is well versed in marxist ideology and I’m sure he’s aware some of its earliest founders and commissars were Jews who held the state above their own culture and that of others.. I find it not at all surprising that Obama feels adequately justified in his own commie mind to attack/undermine Israel and treat hold his own country in contempt when he sees fit. The state comes first, above culture, creed, race, faith. If he was a true Christian, he’d know not to join pseudo Churches that preach division and uprising - such teachings are more akin to Karl Marx than Jesus. If he really cared about blacks in the US he’d heap more praise on its successes, inspired notables like Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas, but instead we’ve heard him talk about Chavez and A’jad as often as how America’s image abroad needs restoring? Restoring for whom you silly twat?? When are you going to talk about restoring the ongoing Arab slave trade of Africans in Chad, Mali, Niger, the entire Zanzibar archipelago etc.. and America’s image needs restoring?? What an utter twat!!

Obama is an impressionable man and has been that way from his 20’s - he’s the sum product of all his commie associates. It’s why he cares little to place his hand on his heart during the national anthem, wear a patriotic lapel pin, or tell his wife to shut her anti-American pie hole.

    RC,

I bet your analysis is correct. Thanks. To bad the majority of Jewish voters dont realize that their commendable concern for civil rights/human rights are best served strong leaders and a powerfull military. Dont they see that the liberation of the Iraqis and Afghans couldnt have been done without some one like Bush at the helm and that appeasement, Hussein/Chamberlin style, is ultimatly what allowed the holocaust to happen?

Great post but don’t you think it reflects a minority of the ‘57% that favor Obama’?
I know quite a few who simply feel comfortable left of center. That’s the reason Lieberman feels it worthwhile reaching out to them.

    Obama’s support of Israel is…to use his terms…is just words…just speeches….

Obambam is all talk and no walk…a rebel w/o a clue.

    Sully,

I agree I’m not lumping all Dems in the far left category by any means just the one’s who like Obama are easily impressed by far left ideology i.e anti-Americanism, all things secular etc. They tend to get caught up in it like Obama at college level by left-leaning educators and “liberal intelligentsia” who drum into their still maturing minds that anti-western sentiments are noble and patriotic, “truth to power” nonsense. What has evolved is a massive detachment from true patriotic values, whereby they are convinced their dissenting voices are of more value than the service and sacrifices of our fine military men and women. Liebermann is a lot smarter, anyone who has the slightest inkling that their Dem party has descended into the absurd insane would sever close ties and run independent as he has. He actually co-founded Campus-watch which keeps tabs on undesirables poisoning our kids minds like Obama’s good friend Khalid Rshaidi, and he’s voted steadfastly against flag desecration. Can true patriots blame him especially when we hear and see that scoundrel party defending the indefensible, going out their way to support closure of the Git, repeat a meme of defeat and surrender nonchalantly, when they obstruct and stand in the way of their own country’s advancement and successes for stability in the world. There are Reagan Democrats out there, and if you ask me they’ve been silenced by far left movements and I agree they want to be counted in. Not only should Liebermann reach out to them but many Republicans should also.

This is where I feel McCain if he gets his house in order can hurt Obama. Obama hath no true love for his country, he’s a megalomaniac, he’s not the first to use soaring rhetoric to convince the masses. The raised jaw in front of an adoring impressionable crowd shouts megalomania, has been used by megalomaniacs from Mussolini, to Che, Mao, Kim Il-sung, Castro on and on.. it a shared trait, and there’s nothing humble about it.

Kim Il-sung’s motto was a powerful and prospserous nation, what North Koreans got instead was a cult of personality drawn on Marxist lines that has left a nation bankrupt and its people starving.

The US is a beacon to the world, whether commie numbnuts say otherwise. It’s our job as patriots to start calling out socialist parasites for what they are because we can and keep reminding them how wrong they are and why, especially in a nation founded upon much higher ideals and values.

Deathstar, I agree also our defense forces today are not only carrying on a proud tradition of liberating countries from dictatorships, they are now assailed for doing so - sad but when we have a choice to liberate and can Americans have always proved themselves determined, willing and always on the side of freedom. Where’s the pride in whining about the world constantly as Dhimmicrats do? There’s none. Our soldiers see and know firsthand what difference they make; an outreached hand of thanks, a long hug from a young one who had their father rescued from certain death at the hands of Islamist thugs, a weeping mom’s gratitude for saving her children from harms way or for knowing her children can now attend school again - our men and women in uniform have gone far and beyond the call and values their great nation was founded on. They restore hope, they bring more than “a change to believe in” - THEY ARE CHANGE. For better and for good. Iraqis know this, it’s the msm and leftards in this country who do not and refuse to do so. It’s our duty to correct them as often as we can.

  15. Goodbye Natalie

Though I must apologize to the group for not realizing Bambi Osama had mentioned Jerusalem as Israel’s capital the other day when I challenged him to do so, I must now also take credit for being right (and I love it when that happens).

Told you guys he’d dance! Muwahahahahahahaha…
