Wes Clark: McCain Lacks Executive Experience To Be POTUS … As Opposed To Hussein?!?

June 30th, 2008 Posted By drillanwr.

1

Hey, Wes … Mac has been a Senator far longer than Hussein has NOT been a Muslim, NOT attended his church on those nasty sermon days, NOT been half white, NOT taken funny-money from Tony Rezko … or even HAS been a Senator …

Or YOU, for that matter … Say, didn’t YOU try to run for POTUS?

And don’t get me started on your girl Hillary. Just sit down and STFU!

Retired US General Wesley Clark on Sunday said Republican White House hopeful John McCain lacked executive experience to be president, in rare criticism of the Vietnam veteran’s military service.

Clark told CBS television that McCain was a hero for enduring years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam “but he hasn’t held executive responsibility.

“That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn’t a wartime squadron. He hasn’t been there and ordered the bombs to fall.”

Clark, former NATO supreme allied commander, said McCain’s combat experience as a fighter pilot did not make him more qualified to be president than Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

“Well, I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,” he said.

Clark said Obama had shown good judgment and talent as a communicator, saying the US president’s greatest authority came from the power to persuade.

The general, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004, had initially endorsed Senator Hillary Clinton in this year’s White House race. She lost to Obama in a hard-fought campaign.

“He’s running on his strength of character, on the strengths of his communication skills, on the strengths of his judgment. And those are qualities that we seek in our national leadership,” Clark said of Obama.

Criticizing McCain’s support for the US administration’s policy on Iraq, Clark said “what Barack Obama understands is that military force may have to be used as a last resort, but it’s not the first resort.”

McCain has painted the younger Obama as inexperienced and naive on foreign policy and national security issues, and his campaign has highlighted his service in Vietnam.

“I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces,” Clark said.

“Well, I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,” he said.

with all due respect General, your head is full of shit if you think Barack Obama has more experience than John McCain on ANY subject. unless you mean being a Marxist asshat, then yes Obama has more experience.

oh and then after that he comes out with these comments.

“I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces,” Clark said.

yeah hes a hero to you yet you consider his service to be “just riding around in a fighter plane”?

    what a stain… :gun:

“The poster child for everything that is wrong with the GO (general officer) corps,” exclaims one colonel, who has had occasion to observe Clark in action, citing, among other examples, his command of the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood from 1992 to 1994.

While Clark’s official Pentagon biography proclaims his triumph in “transitioning the Division into a rapidly deployable force” this officer describes the “1st Horse Division” as “easily the worst division I have ever seen in 25 years of doing this stuff.”

Such strong reactions are common. A major in the 3rd Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado when Clark was in command there in the early 1980s described him as a man who “regards each and every one of his subordinates as a potential threat to his career”.

“Clark said Obama had shown talent as a communicator.”
A communicator who when he mumbles, stumbles or repeats himself has a real tendency to be lying.

The post turtle was a community organizer, I guess he worked in an executive community. Comrade Obama gives shame to gravitas. Who would ever hire a post turtle to do an important job.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS?????? look where that got us,, clinton and carter,, CLARK has no room to talk, he lead fm the rear against a non-existent enemy..mccain did more leadership work fm his small POW cell than clark did fm his vast office or odumba did in “chicago politics”..

  10. drillanwr (hembra blanca típica)

    dad3-7

    Amen (and amen et al)

From what I understand, McCain was a leader for the other POWs while in the camp … and didn’t he refuse early release in order to stay with the men?

“Well, I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,”

C’mon Bambi. The dipshit needs to chew those words for a few months.
    Please.
    Clark for VP.

  12. Dachshund

I don’t get the comment regarding him being not half white, did someone from Obama’s camp say something about that?

  13. A. S. Wise- VA (America, FUCK YEAH!)

Now that’s audacity, to blatantly misrepresent McCain’s substantial leadership experience.

I think it’s only fair for Steve to call Kosovo “Klinton’s War,” after all, the dems always dismiss Iraq as “Bush’s War.” Eye for an eye. About Kosovo, though it wasn’t the fault of our brave troops, I believe Operation Allied Force was completely unnecessary. We bombed the wrong people; the very Serbs who helped us fight the Nazis, and even rescue downed Allied airmen during WWII! Can anyone tell me how Yugoslavia was a threat to our national interests? Even when they were communist, they didn’t align with the USSR! They could very well have served as a bulwark against militant Islam, had we not bombed them. Most cynically, I would be so bold as to say that Clinton was “wagging the dog” during the Lewinsky Scandal. Had he bombed Al Qaeda during that time, he would probably have the “legacy” he seeks. But because of our intervention on behalf of the Kosovars, Islam is creeping up from the Balkans. By the way, we had Kosovar in my 10th Grade gym class, named Muhammad, who also lived in New Orleans before coming to Richmond. Real fucking douchebag.

Clinton’s & Clark’s legacy: not addressing the growing threat of Islam. Oh and we still have “peace keepers” in the Balkans. Bring the troops home!

I am certain others here can expand on that as well.

    @Steve, great links thanks!!

Effing lunatics! The endless factoids they repeat prove the liberal mind lacks the most basic processing skills. My respect for chimpanzees grows every single time I hear libtards open their unintelligible pie holes.

The only credentials Obama displays are those from the Alinsky school of radical agitators, to even suggest he is somehow more experienced than McCain on Defense demonstrates again his innate poor judgement.

Only incompetent fools and failures like Clark are drawn to Obama; real battle hardened military men know bullshit when they hear and see it.

  18. Peter Rennich

Retired US General Wesley Clark’s qualifications for president.

Well I guess that only commanding a PT boat and having that PT boat shot out from under you and sunk won’t qualifiy you for being president either?

JFK you DID NOT qualify for the office.

    Hey Wastely
You like to brag what a great job you did in Bosnia, but we’re still there defending muslims who are now working against us. I remember when you and Cliton almost caused WWIII by bombing up the Chinese Embassy! Wastely Clark is an idiot who said the Surge strategy in Iraq would not work, and we were doomed to fail 2 years ago. Well Wastely you were wrong then and wrong now!

Yeah, I remember ol General Weasely Cluck.

A real go getter, leads from the front, won the Kosovo War without a single American casualty.

McCain is a naval academy & naval war college grad. Both teach leadership among other things. Osama went to 20 years of “I hate America” sermons. Big difference.
McCain also took a so-so squadron made major improvements.
Osama took a real estate payoff. What would he take as president? And from whom?
Wes has his lips on the Democratic ass, hoping for some reward.
McCain is one of the great heroes of my life. I served my entire 4 year enlistment while John was in the Hanoi Hilton.
I made several trips to VN during that time. John made his trips from his cell to the beating room.
The last time we had a commander in chief as qualified was probably Ike.
Osama might make dismal jimmy look good.

The mighty general wouldn’t make a pimple on a jarheads ass.
He just keeps coming back like that girlyman Dashchel.

  25. Boo Boo

I was watching this guy when he said it. Even Bob Scheiffer was incredulous. I think his ego was talking–in his mind, he was comparing his role in the military as CINC of NATO versus McCain as a Commander or Captain in the Navy or whatever he was. Obama was a sort of social worker before he got elected to the state senate and US Senate. Not exactly executive positions.

  26. idjiut

Remember when the tried and true Left-of-Liberal straw man
smear was the so called ‘chicken hawk’? Bush was declared unfit to send troops into harms way because he never saw combat. Even though this was a a straw man argument, it gained a lot of traction with the Ultra-Liberal Main Stream Media. It was like saying if you have never been a policeman, you have no right to expect them to catch criminals, or if you have never been a fireman, you have no right to ask a firefighter to run into a burning building to rescue a loved one. Anyhow, now the newest mantra is that since no one would dare call Lt Col Johnny McCain a ‘chicken hawk’, they feel the need to demean his service
as a pretext to declare him unqualified to be President.
Pure unadulterated shutzpa. Apparently, there is no end to the cravass of slime that these Ultra-Liberals will stoop.

Why are “has beens” and “never will bes” so vocal? What a bunch of dumb asses Obuma has in his employ. Just think how his cabinet would look, and we can expect spear dancing on the Whitehouse (oops, Blackhouse) front lawn.

  28. mindy abraham

Mcain is not perfect, but he has much more experience thatn obama.

  29. Dan (The Infidel)

When Wesley Clark was in the Pentagon he had a reputation as the biggest ass-kissing waste of life in the whole place.

Clark never gave a shit about anyone or anything other than himself. He’d scew his own mother if it would advance his career.

I got no respect for this ass-licker. Compared to McCain, Clark is a pussy.

  30. Dan (The Infidel)

Wes Clark: a man for no season. Will this man’s 15 minutes ever be up? Go back to Arkansas Wes and peddle your vituperations elsewhere.

  31. deathstar

How do ignorant doofuses like Clark, Batiste and Sanchez become generals?

In particular how do bumblers like Sanchez become the top guy in Iraqs critical, immediate post liberation phase and how does a fool like Batiste run (and lose control) of things in a crucial province like Diyala?

Why did it take 3 years to get competent leaders like Patraeus and Odierno in charge in Iraq?

Finally, why doea a poofda like Clark carry any credibility for news organizations?

  32. dad3-7

deathstar… most of those generals u mentioned got their stars fm clinton…col. and gens. get their appointments fm the POFUS.. it was they who took down our military in the 90’s and it took the likes of rummy to rebuild it… if u will remember in the 2000 elecetion bore gore bragged about eliminating 250.000 troops and there were no active army divisions that met readiness requirements..hence a weak military to go into the wars in afghanistan and iraq..that is why so many guard and reserve units were called and the continued reliance on the clintons use of haliburton..

  33. JCD

Could this guy BE any more embarrassing? What an ass.

  34. Double Tap

Wesley ‘Fucktard’ Clark is a disgrace to the US military. This asshole needs to be bitch-slapped by some Marines. To even try to denigrate McCain’s leadership experience only emphasizes the extreme lack of leadership of Obamination. Clark is truly an egotistical moron who should just STFU! The lack of substance and character from these assholes on the left is frightening.

I feel saddened for the poor Soldiers this asswipe apparently built his career upon. There are 2 types of leaders I always referred to when I was a Chief prior to crossing to the “darkside”:

    1. Ladder builders
    2. Ladder climbers

Given the Generals repeated verbal flatulence I would day that there were many Soldiers that served as the rungs of this POS’s ladder!

At our site, we confess to being mystified. I don’t see indignation as a successful campaign strategy. On the other hand, in 1988 I did not see the Pledge of Allegiance as a likely strategy either.

  43. Walt

I find it ironic that a man who violated the Posse Comitatus Act and attacked women and children with military hardware (Waco), a Leader who bombed the Chinese Embassy in Kosovo, a man who ordered a British Colonel to shoot the Russians at an airport and was fired for this action as NATO Commander, would have the gall to even mention McCain’s Leadership.

These facts should be front and center yet I have not heard one “newsy” even hint to them.

  44. sierrahome

I suppose riding around in a PT boat does not qualify a person either.
Actually I would vote for a person who is willing to die for his country far sooner than I would vote for a man willing to throw his grandma under the bus.

    …but that’s just me.

  45. Boo Boo

Doofus works for Obama as advisor. None of the lead-ins on the news mention this. Yeah, Obama has real executive experience. According to sources, he spent exactly 144 present and accounted for in the Senate. Wow, almost a half a year!
