Damn, I am frickin’ really bummed out by the death of Tony Snow. Tony was the first person to bring my work to the attention of the world, interviewing me live from Ramadi on his radio show. He was not only a great, but very keen-minded, sharp, sharp man. And a decent man who lived by a code. Remember those?
12:30 P.M.
Everybody leaves. It’s the loneliness, or fear or remembrance of when and where and why and how, that shakes us, and wakes us, now and then.
12:48 P.M.
Meeting with some Blackwater guys fresh in from Baghdad this evening. Will report on what they have to say.
Holy Fuck! Completely bummed out about Tonys death….
Dont know what to say…
Praying for his family and we all lost a good man…
July 12th, 2008 at 8:11 amThis is very sad news.
July 12th, 2008 at 8:29 amMay God raise you up to Heaven and grant comfort to your family.
The Snow family have lost a wonderful husband and father. The White House have lost the best Press Secretary in its’ history. America has lost a great patriot.
A sad day, indeed, but it’s good his suffering is now at an end.
July 12th, 2008 at 8:31 amThe bitch lefturds at the associated press decided it would be a good time to make up some lies about Tony Snow.

May he rest in peace.

July 12th, 2008 at 9:13 amTwo of the more decent people in the media/political sphere dead. A damn shame.
Didn’t know that Tony was familiar with Pat’s project.

July 12th, 2008 at 12:09 pmAP’s write up for Tony Snow had to throw in a couple post-mortem lies disguised as cheap shots … MORE journalistic malpractice:
With a quick-from-the-lip repartee, broadcaster’s good looks and a relentlessly bright outlook — if not always a command of the facts — he became a popular figure around the country to the delight of his White House bosses.
….. During daily briefings, he challenged reporters, scolded them and questioned their motives as if he were starring in a TV show broadcast live from the West Wing.
Critics suggested that Snow was turning the traditionally informational daily briefing into a personality-driven media event short on facts and long on confrontation. He was the first press secretary, by his own accounting, to travel the country raising money for Republican candidates.
Newsbusters’ Tom Blumer suggests you save the original AP link … as they might be [editing] it before the day is out:

July 12th, 2008 at 1:46 pmHere’s the email address, the street address, and the phone number to the AP. (I had the same sense about the slanted AP article re. Tony Snow before I read the comments.) Be polite but firm.

July 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pmMy letter to the AP:
“I was really saddened, not just by the news of Tony Snow’s death, but by your journalist mocking him in “Cancer Claims ex-Bush Press Secretary Tony Snow” (Douglass K. Daniel).
It was despicable. Tim Russert, who I greatly admired, was treated with class and dignity for days by the MSM after he passed away. Yet, Douglass K. Daniel snidely stated that Snow “brought partisan zeal and the skills of a seasoned performer to the task of explaining and defending the president’s policies….as if he were starring in a TV show broadcast live from the West Wing.”
How disgusting. We know that many people in the MSM are very partisan liberals, as proven once again by a recent independent survey, but keep your sarcastic comments in check until this very decent man has had a decent burial and his family has had a chance to grieve.”
