Israelis And Palestinians”. About what and how? He has no authority. Very reminiscent of the second Stroke of Midnight video. The press is just as convinced as he that the election ended about a year ago.
And then of course, they’re also running this very important story: “Magazine: Obama’s Daughters Have Youthful Zeal, Manners”.
And, just in case you hadn’t decided whether or not to vote for said Hussein, the AP is trumpeting this instant classic: “Obama’s Great Uncle Recalls Liberating Camp From Nazis”.
Hmmmm…is Hussein a war hero by proxy?

Been working for a week and a half without any sort of news constantly droning in the background, interesting, but leaving me feeling out of touch with the BREAKING news world. Normally, running a site like this is a lot like playing a first-person shooter game, like “Doom” or “Unreal Tournament”, a game I’m sorry to say that I had a national ranking of 17 whilst in my fucking 30’s who sad is that. Sad, because it means that untold hours were spent, well, playing a game. Anyway, there’s a sense of hurling through a day at warp speed, checking dozens and dozens of sources around the world for stories, keeping up on everything that is breaking so you’re not behind the competition, and finding the gems that the competition hasn’t found yet, and that might even escape everyone’s attention. Like Bash did the other day with the fuckstick spermwaste who spit on the vet. It’s a constant state of constant storytelling combat, flush with kinetic energy, adrenaline ( sort of ) and stress. Just ask The “Emergency Room” Bashman.
Anyway, having that droning tv is the best way to have at least the basic, normal news headlines constantly fresh in your mind. Do you care? Not sure I do either. But I just wrote all that so I’m not deleting it.

What I do know is that there’s a solid minimum of 18 months of real and intense warfare guaranteed in Afghanistan ( as I’ve been discussing with friends military, security and journalistic who are also looking to get back and cover this important shit asap ) and probably a bit longer than that. Both America and Al Qaeda are looking to surge, and although the situation is not nearly as grim as the anti-Conservative MSM would have you believe, a lot of that place is going to get shit hot. And we gotta get there. In all honesty, and I am very much not alone in this sentiment or feeling or whatever, but as much as we are all happy to see these wars end, there is a part of us that is summec up by the point of a seemingly unfinished and oblique line delivered by Robert Duvall in “Apacalypse Now”.
They’ve taken their sandy beach objective, mopping up, indirect and small arms still coming in at them in spurts, and Duvall as Kilgore
is trudging fearlessly and shirtless up the beach and suddenly a mortar lands just behind him ( there is no shrapnel in Hollywood’s bombs ) and he of course just ignores it and crouches down to eyeball a few of his boys down for cover. Even on his haunches, Duvall still towers a bit above them. He seems wistful, contemplative, sort of staring at the horizon, then the ground. He grabs a handful of sand, does a fast eyeball to eyeball sweep of his men, and then says “You know, someday this war’s gonaa end.” And as he suddenly stands and walks away, our minds catch up with what we’ve just seen, and realize that he has said it with sadness and resignation. A warrior’s sadness and resignation, to me. And yeah, well, for what it’s worth, the confessional for many of us, is that we feel that often too. But we’re not crazy, we want it to end. But something, something, makes us feel like we’ve lost something in as painful a way as losing closest family and friends, as it ends…

So I was on the “Red Eye” chat during last night’s show, and we got to talking about Iraq. One of those in the chat roo said he was a Marine who has served in Iraq, so I asked what his MOS and unit was. He replied (to my recollection) one of the 08 level occupations–artillery I believe–and that he was part of 1/1 (1st Battalion/1st Marines). I told him I wanted to be either a 0302 (infantry officer) or 1802 (tank officer). To this he said that platoon leaders in Iraq don’t see much action, and end up doing mostly paperwork. He also said I’d probably see more action as an Army infantry officer. I know that squad and team leaders do make many decisions given the nature of combat in Iraq, but I’ve never heard that infantry officers (particularly platoon leaders) see so little action. Is this true, or is he exaggerating? Keep in mind he never made any statements that were anti-troop or anti-involvement, but I have no way to confirm he actually has been over there.

Heathrow is a cluster fuck in general (civilian look at it) but their security situation ROCKS. The flight there & back was good. Nothing to speak of. Spent a majority of my flights jotting notes to self. The free wine on British Airways helped ease any tensions I had. LOL

Missed anything new? They put new stuff on TV? I’ve never liked TV. Well there was, Star Trek(with Kirk) reruns, and the “Power Block” that used to be on TNN. That was when I still lived with mom.
The only new show I’ve watched is Prison Break. I think there is supposed to be a season 4. And football season is coming. Other than that there’s probably some stuff about Obama being Christ reincarnate.
