Stroke Of Midnight:
2:08 A.M.
Press cooling a little on President Hussein…maybe…John McCain talkin’ stupid?
and on Israel bombing Iran soon…
10:16 A.M.
Line of the day so far: “Remember, Sarkozy is Conservative by French standards.” So…:efitst?
10:17 A.M.
No dark or elliptical post yet…not that I don’t lack the necessary inspiration or incoherence…just lack coffee…
1:49 P.M.
Yeah, I’m alive, just been dealing with other shit…idiots, thoughtless, inattentive…interesting how little we care about anyone’s shit but our own, even when we’re paid to….the problems this creates…fuck it, it’s Friday, I don’t even care about my own shit right now, except for what’s I want in front of my face for the next three days…
2:06 P.M.
How many dimensions does a person exist in on email?
2:34 P.M.
Media Lizzy, the leading Conservative mistress at Blog Talk Radio has invited me back on her show on Tuesday to tear up the Obama Tour, Tuesday at noon. We’ll put up the button and an announcement. And if you haven’t done the BTR thing, you don’t have to listen live, you can listen later. Maybe as long as humanity survives.
2:38 P.M.
Very good links from Rummy’s to the Hussein stuff, provided in the comments section by y’all today. Great shit from y’all every day, actually.
3:01 P.M.
Don’t miss it. Don’t miss it.
3:13 P.M.
it’s going to be all about the poll numbers and immediate media aftermath as far as this Hussein Tour goes. Believe it or not, their can only be a growing number of cracks in the media foundation of support for this buffoon. As much as those self-appointed lackeys, vengeance-minded minions, and star struck suckers want to see this guy in, his show and their support for him are both so over the top that instincts for self-respect and self-preservation ( fools often get weeded out ) and esteem ( and God forbid, inistincts for honesty and integrity ) will slowly but surely rise up in enough of these media folks to do some hard looking, hard probing, and serious, genuine, incisive reporting that begins to bring the entire spectacle back down to earth. Eventually, for everyone, there is nowhere to go but down.
And there still looms the spectacle of scandal, via his dirty influence-buying house deal with Rezko. It’s a rich and simple story, that simply has to be reported in the right way, at the right place, to take a big chunk of flesh out of this Grand Poseur. His speeches are also getting increasingly shitty and insipid, really.
5:05 P.M.
For those of you who don’t yet know about it, don’t miss Sunday night’s “Pat Dollard’s Jihadi Killer Hour” on Blog Talk Radio. Live at 8 PM PST. Just click here:
…and bookmark it for Sunday. Always, always lively, I assure you. And we take lots of calls for those of you like to make them. It often adds up to a well-moderated clusterfuck with about five people on at once, but where the crosstalk is kept in check, and you can actually hear everyone as they say there piece. You know, unlike cable news talk shows where everyone’s shouting over each other and wish someone would just cut someone’s frickin’ mic.
6:58 P.M.
Thing is, no one can remember anything substantive about this trip, what was said to who about doing what where to improve the world. All they can remember is picture after picture of him, him saying the Surge didn’t work which conveniently excused his misjudgement on the matter, him cancelling a scheduled vistit to the troops. And this is all that people will remember. And this makes people think he was doing this for nothing but him. And people will resent that. And it will cost him votes, most assuredly. And like any big spectacle, they won’t forget it for a long time.
out on a limb here, but, I wonder what it´s like to eat Uma?

July 25th, 2008 at 8:17 amSpeeding in Florida: Emaild joke of the day
A young woman was pulled over for speeding. As the Florida State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said:
“I bet you’re going to sell me a ticket to the State Troopers Ball.”
He replied:
“Florida State Troopers don’t have balls.”
There was a moment of silence while she smiled, and he realized what he’d just said. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car

July 25th, 2008 at 8:32 amF.Y.I. they aren’t State Troopers in our great state of Florida. They’re Highway Patrolmen.
July 25th, 2008 at 8:41 amGrab me some coffee while I check it out, please…
July 25th, 2008 at 9:20 amYeah, and how do I get that nifty Arabic writing LBA’s got? I’m sure it’s simple and obvious and related to Google, but like I said, coffee….
July 25th, 2008 at 9:23 amThe lying sack of sheet. The Obama version:
Though the Rammstein visit had been planned for days, Obama senior strategist David Axelrod said that that Pentagon notified Obama military advisor Scott Gration only yesterday or the day before that he should not come.
The Pentagon “viewed this as a campaign event and therefore they said he should not come,” Axelrod said. Obama has been at the base in previous overseas trips. He visited with troops–even played basketball–when he touched down in Kuwait during the Iraq and Afghanistan leg of his swing.
The Pentagons version:
Chief Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell confirmed to Politico that Department of Defense officials cautioned Barack Obama’s campaign that his planned visit to wounded American troops in Germany could not be political in nature and that he would be barred from bringing along campaign staff and reporters. He also said that Cindy McCain recently requested to visit sailors aboard the U.S.N.S. Comfort and was denied.
“Sen. Obama is welcome to visit Landstuhl or any military hospital in his official capacity as a United States senator,” Morrell said in a brief interview. “But there is a DoD policy which governs campaigning and electioneering at military facilities that would have to be respected if he were to visit. That distinction was relayed and made clear to campaign, and they made a decision on their own based on that guidance.”

July 25.
Fall classes start on August 25, where the hell has summer gone?! Can’t wait for Football Season, although this will be a rebuilding year for my Hokies. Will be heading to the OBX for a few days between the end of summer school, and start of fall.
The Philosophy exam today had Tony Snow as one of the examples of fallacies. The gist of the argument was a reporter accusing the White House of being “partisan.” Tony retorted that the Dems were just as guilty, if not more so. It was intended to be analyzed as an Ad Hominem-Tu Quoque “fallacy.”

Pat also has some unfinished business with an ex-wife. A multi-situational video. Unfinished business with a few folks, in fact. Serious business. Which is one reason why I’m such a serious guy, especially lately.
But it’s always such a pleasure to do the work that lightens my load. At that point, I lighten up in general.
Work, then play. At least in these cases, the work is fun, too. Just not for everybody. I think it’s Dennis Miller whose always saying “Life is the Serengeti Plain.”
July 25th, 2008 at 1:59 pmA woman, married three times, walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding.
‘Of course, madam,’ replied the sales clerk, ‘exactly
what type and colorare you looking for?’
The bride to be said: ‘A long frilly white dress with a veil.’
The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, ‘Please don’t take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married the first time - for those who are a bit more
innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?’
‘Well,’ replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk’s directness, ‘I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first time bride…
You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel…
My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again.’
‘What about your third husband?’ asked the sales clerk.
‘That one was a Democrat,’ said the woman, ‘and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be……but nothing ever happened…”

July 25th, 2008 at 2:06 pmI’m always the first person to admit when I am wrong. Talked to LEO buddies of mine, Both terms are correct. Highway Patrolman is much like “fireman” or “policeman” though. It has fallen out of favor and State Trooper is the more accepted, gender-neutral term. Like “firefighter” or “police officer”. Now don’t I look like a jackass?

July 25th, 2008 at 7:15 pmThis was posted this A.M. and I missed it. I’m curious about my theory…
Headline - “Case dismissed marine sniper cleared of manslaughter charges”
Article - “You have to wonder how a case like this got this far,” Solis continued. “Sometimes, it seems like the Marine Corps is eating its young.”

Someone explain to me what else those Iraqis could have been doing.
What are the odds of two, apparently unrelated vehicles stopping at exactly the same spot within minutes of each other.
——————————–
My theory, first vehicle’s crew prep the asphalt for digging and leaves.
The second vehicle’s crew digs the hole and takes off.
The third vehicle’s crew plants the IED.
The third vehicle never shows up because crew #2 got whacked.
Opinions anyone? Please.

July 25th, 2008 at 7:44 pmA fleeing Taliban, desperate for water, was plodding through the Afghanistan desert when he saw something far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he hurried toward the object only to find a little old Jew at a small stand selling neckties.
The Taliban asked, ‘Do you have water?’ The Jew replied, ‘I have no water. Would you like to buy a tie? They are only $5.’
The Taliban shouted, ‘Idiot! I do not need an overpriced tie. I need water! I should kill you, but I must find water first.’
‘OK,’ said the old Jew, ‘it does not matter that you don’t want to buy a tie and that you hate me. I will show you that I am bigger than that. If you continue over that hill to the east for about two miles, you will find a lovely restaurant. It has all the ice cold water you need. Shalom.’
Muttering, the Taliban staggered away over the hill.
Several hours later he staggered back.
‘Your fucking brother won’t let me in without a tie.’

July 25th, 2008 at 8:45 pm15 God took the Man and set him down in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order.
16-17 God commanded the Man, “You can eat from any tree in the garden, except from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. Don’t eat from it. The moment you eat from that tree, you’re dead.”
18-20 God said, “It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion.” So God formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name. The Man named the cattle, named the birds of the air, named the wild animals; but he didn’t find a suitable companion.
21-22 God put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. God then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.
23-25 The Man said,
July 25th, 2008 at 9:01 pm“Finally! Bone of my bone,
flesh of my flesh!
Name her Woman
for she was made from Man.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh.
The two of them, the Man and his Wife, were naked, but they felt no shame.
littlefox , we’re exchanging P.I.C. jokes and then you hit us with Bible verses.
I had mixed reactions at first, then I read all of your comment and when I got to your last paragraph, “23-25″,and when I finished reading it, I realized you may be sending us a message, much like my above comment referring to Pat’s “video #2″.
If so, “IF”, so…may I assume at 1:01 A.M EDT on the Island of ST. Croix, a gentle, warm, tropical breeze is wafting through your Bungalow and…for you and your Hubby, tonight is “Whoopi Night”?

BTW, I’m hearing that the guy here in STL that freaked out and set the ambush for the Firemen and Cops was a VN vet. Please pray that this doesn’t turn into a witch hunt where they paint all our Vets as “damaged and dangerous” but rather that those that need help look for it and get it.
