Karzai Says Pakistan Government Is Primary Force Behind Entire Afghanistan Insurgency

KABUL, July 14 - (Kyodo)—Afghanistan boycotted several upcoming bilateral talks with Pakistan on Monday, accusing its Inter-Services Intelligence of involvement in a recent series of violent acts in the country.
A resolution passed by Afghanistan’s Cabinet ministers said that Afghanistan will suspend talks with Pakistan over the border issues to be held in Dubai, talks on economical cooperation to be held in Kabul later July and talks on regional economic cooperation due in Islamabad in August.
In a statement, Afghan President Hamid Karzai for the first time directly accused Pakistan’s intelligence service of being behind a recent wave of deadly attacks in Afghanistan.
“The killing, destruction, dishonor and insecurity in Afghanistan are carried out by Pakistan’s intelligence and military institutions,” Karzai said.
Around 60 people including four Indians were killed and more than 100 were wounded in a suicide attack on the Indian Embassy about a week earlier.
The resolution also accused Pakistan’s intelligence service of being involved in the attempt assassination of President Karzai in April and Kandahar’s jail break in June in which more than 900 prisoners, including around 350 militants, escaped.
“Pakistan’s intelligence agency and military have turned that country to the biggest exporter of terrorism and extremism to the world, particularly Afghanistan,” the statement said.
But Pakistan denied it has played part in such violence.
In Afghanistan, around 2,000 people have been reportedly killed in violence since the beginning of the year. Pakistan once had strong ties with the Taliban.

What isn’t being said is that the Afghan villagers near that base where 9 Americans died Sunday had left–they were in on the raid and betrayed the soldiers. They all left the village–sure sign you are about to be “surprise attacked.” What needs to happen is what happened to other villages in other wars when the villagers were siding with the enemy.

July 14th, 2008 at 3:13 pmIt’s what everyone has been saying for years, but America chooses to ignore at its own peril - when you get into bed with Pakistan, you don’t know what you are going to wake up with.
Pakistan has been funding and promoting terrorism on all of their borders and is very realistically hiding Bin Laden as we speak. Still, its excellent relations with the US have caused them to turn a weather eye towards its “indiscretions” - much like how Israel gets a free pass.
