When I feel lazy, overworked, tired and frustrated I watch this video. It gives me the necessary motivation I need to get through my day.

Yeah buddy….that’ll motivate your ass to get your shit together or make you go back to your mommy real fast.

    God I love that vid.

    Semper Fi

  4. CBL

I love the DI that comes up to his right and just starts screaming.

  5. Kentucky Jim

I like the way they swarm to the smell of recruit sweat in the air.

  6. AmericanJarhead

Been there, done that… (On the receiving end…)

  7. Jarhead68

What in the hell was that recruit doing wearing a cover indoors? I got smacked in the head for that in boot camp. Never forgot to remove my cover again. And there was another recruit who walked in with a cover on, too? Have the rules changed? I must be out of touch.

And another thing…fire watch was a night time activity. While the platoon was sleeping, one recruit was required to patrol keeping an eye out for, of all things, fires. As I recall, we did 2 hour shifts. So what was this guy doing fire watch in broad daylight?

    Just wonderin’.

Jarhead68: I don’t know if its changed from the way it was when you where in, but you keep your cover on at all times while under arms - I doubt that he is armed, but I’m sure he is wearing a duty belt. And I think he was on fire watch because the platoon was out, always gotta have someone in the rear with the gear - usually the broke dick.

  9. Howie

 Jarhead68: There were certain times back in ‘91 that we would have a fire watch on post during the day, it was very rare usually when we did not have our gear secured because of a change of training area etc.
As far as the cover indoors, when on watch one is required to wear a “duty belt” to signify that you are on duty. While wearing the belt the uniform includes wearing the cover at all times to make sure that you stand out and are noticed.

    Smeper Fi!!
Don’t forget to listen to Chandler’s Watch this Saturday at 1700 Pacific!!

He is on “Fire-Watch” during the day. His job is to guard his platoon’s barracks while the other recruits are out training. Firewatch is not only a night thing, but a day thing as well. He is under-arms, or considered to be “on duty” this is why he wears the cover.

The first DI who walks up is the Officer of the Day, and the poor recruit did not address him- So he gets ass-chewed. The DI’s set him up, with the hidden camera and everything.

I really like this vid too.

I had a similar experience in Army Basic in the chow hall. Just about everyone got their shit jumped at least once. It was 25 years ago, but seems like it was yesterday. I still laugh about it.

    Damn, i miss the Army.

    Oh!!! Good Christ!

I believe the fourth Sgt. in was my son-in-law’s brother!!!

I could be wrong … but I doubt it …

Holy SHIT! Never saw him like that … Just laid back and smooth while he’s tossing me a beer. But then, unlike 99.99% of the family … he’s a Michigan fan. :gun:

 Makes me almost wanna go back to boot camp. Almost.

    AYE SIR!

    LOUDER!

    AYE SIR!

I am so glad those days are behind me….cheer up recruit, it gets better.

Recruit training was a blast (pun intended). You gotta eat up the harassment that they throw at you. Its all part of the head game that turns basement dwellers and civilians into the baddest, meanest warriors on the planet.

Who wouldn’t want to go back to the days when we were in the best shape of our lives?

This is what the Dhimis in school lack.: Discipline, motivation and espirit.

Discipline is the key, motivation the way…to success both in the military and is a metaphor for life.

The spirit of the bayonet is alive and well. It’s what the pussies in Congress and the Marxist school systems are trying so hard to kill.

    Not on my watch bitch.

Semper Fi brothers and sisters. Oo-rah.
