Make a mental note as soon as you see the racism:

Politico:

Times ed board: McCain move ‘racially tinged’

It wasnt so long ago that John McCain was The New York Times’ favorite Republican.

Now, the editorial board is apparently so fed up that they can’t wait until next day’s paper and is blogging about him in the middle of the day:

[T]here was something surreal, and offensive, about today’s soundbite from the campaign of Senator John McCain.

The presumptive Republican nominee has embarked on a bare-knuckled barrage of negative advertising aimed at belittling Mr. Obama. The most recent ad compares the presumptive Democratic nominee for president to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton — suggesting to voters that he’s nothing more than a bubble-headed, publicity-seeking celebrity.

The ad gave us an uneasy feeling that the McCain campaign was starting up the same sort of racially tinged attack on Mr. Obama that Republican operatives, some of whom work for Mr. McCain now, ran against Harold Ford, a black candidate for Senate in Tennessee in 2006. That assault, too, began with videos juxtaposing Mr. Ford with young, white women.

Mr. Obama called Mr. McCain on the ploy, saying, quite rightly, that the Republicans are trying to scare voters by pointing out that he “doesn’t look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills.’’

But Rick Davis, Mr. McCain’s campaign manager, had a snappy answer. “Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck,” he said. “It’s divisive, negative, shameful and wrong.’’

The retort was, we must say, not only contemptible, but shrewd. It puts the sin for the racial attack not on those who made it, but on the victim of the attack.
It also — and we wish this were coincidence, but we doubt it — conjurs up another loaded racial image.

The phrase dealing the race card “from the bottom of the deck” entered the national lexicon during the O.J. Simpson saga. Robert Shapiro, one of Mr. Simpson’s lawyers, famously declared of himself, Johnny Cochran and the rest of the Simpson defense team, “Not only did we play the race card, we dealt it from the bottom of the deck.”round

The Slimes is beyond itself. It is losing grasp on reality and if it was a paper of record it should have records of all the people dumped by the democrats.Wonder if anyone reads their own paper?

Re. Well, that would be Arthur Sulzberger, Jr.

A many time arrested Vietnam war protester and “trust-fund-baby”.

His Father Arthur, Sr. once asked Jr. if he thought the U.S and South Vietnam should win the war.

Jr. said, without hesitation…”the other guy”, (N.V. Communists), “IT’S HIS COUNTRY”.

    Yeah, TRUE!

That’s who owns and is controlling the NYT’s.

the “blog” article said, by the editorial board. so they just write things and do not put the writers name on it?

the New York Slimes is losing so much money that they cannot afford writers with any sense now. just take very odd jabs at people under the guise of the ‘editorial board’. weird

I have the feeling that the liberal media want racist attacks against Obama. First, it would make good copy; second, they’ve probably already written their columns. They’re counting on racism to sell their declining paper.

Since McCain is not a racist and bends over backwards to not mention Obama’s ethnic makeup, Obama the-mind-reader jumps in and attacks McCain over racist comments he’ll make in the future. WTF??? How’d he pass the bar exam?

Maybe, to use a phrase coined by the NYT editorial board, the McCain ad is right: Obama is “…nothing more than a bubble-headed, publicity-seeking celebrity.”

It’s the Times that is contemptible. What’s new.

The NY Slimes has slouched toward Gomorah once too often. Maybe that’s why they are now slouching towards bankruptcy.
What a bunch of vituperous schmucks.

The ennui of Dhimoid sheepole is off the charts.

10 year old kids uses this tactic constantly: turn the tables. Obama plays the race card, but NYT and him say McCain played the race card. Who would vote for someone who brings up the argument: “they are trying to make you afraid of me because I don’t look like the Presidents on the dollar bills?” What a joke. Whenever he gets cornered, he starts talking about “how he looks” “his funny name.” Pathetic.
