OK, I’m the first one to agree with and to defend the decision to invade Iraq but this slide show only convinces me that this ‘lab’ was in disarray and disuse for many years. Everything is old, worn out and dusty. No liberal will ever be convinced by this that there were WMD in Iraq. To the left, missiles are not WMD but the means to deliver WMD. The war was about compliance with UN resolutions, trying to shoot down our aircraft, supporting terrorism, etc. WMD was a small part of it that was blown way out of proportion by the media and, thanks to ‘inartful’ (no such word, by the way, Hussein) utterings of Bush and Cheney. They would have been better off not mentioning a mushroom cloud. I, personally, would have supported the war for one reason alone…Saddam tried to assassinate GHWB while he was in Saudi Arabia. But Slick Willy doesn’t have the manhood necessary to do ANYTHING about terrorists and dictators.

jarhead68 the argument about WMD was never that iraq would launch an attack on the US using them.

It was that it would go into one of these facilities and tell AQ… Take your pick.

WMD items are no less deadly with a coat of dust on them.

I realize that this piece focused on the nuclear component, however there have been hundreds of chemical munitions found and destroyed which where intermingled with conventional stuff all over that country.

We all know the truth never stopped a liberal. This wont either.

the place was not that dirty and dusty. Having spent 4 years over there I can assure you that the place is quite clean for only sitting abandoned for a couple of months.

Combined with new manufacture chemicals, fresh paint (even sadams palaces went without paint due to the embargo)

The nuke bomb core found I would say is a smoking gun.

those missiles were the extended range types that were just one of many violations of the cease fire, and UN sanctions.

If you would have paid attention to the newspaper photo of Uday Hussein covering the window and then done a google image search you would have found that photo was taken not too long before his death. If the place was empty why fresh newspaper on the windows?

Why was there a disassembled overhead crane there? To anyone familliar with logistics and construction in the middle east those cranes are so short supply to leave unused for long.

also why are there no UN posted signs or CCTV cameras seen? This place was suppsesly secured by the IAEA yet they only paid a visit less than once a year according to the UN’s own reports.

my bet is that the UN got paid off just like every one else.

Then of course there is the matter of what is really hidden under what looks like sand berms but really conceals a much larger facillity untouched by bombs and with still working electricity when the place was first visited.

Last but not least is the little matter of what Saddams agents were caught with in long island NY in 2000…
