July 23rd, 2008 at 12:35 pmWe’ve gotten so soft that some of us forget that wild animals will KILL you if given the chance. Did you see the quick reaction that cat had? Heh, I did find this clip funny, due to the fact that all the kids wanted to leave after seeing that…heh.
Nature is Never your friend. It would be a good idea to instill that into future generations.
July 23rd, 2008 at 4:39 pmMy youngest sister was at the S.F Zoo, at the big cat exhibit she watched this family in front of cage that held a mature Male African Lion (600 lbs) who was “eyeballing” a 4 Y.O boy in front of the cage.
There’s an 8′ gap between the front of the cage ( bars ) and people.
Anyways, when the family turned to go to the next cage, at the moment all their backs were turned, this Lion lunged at the 4 y.o….a front leg and paw extended as far as possible towards the kid.
The Lion came up about 5 feet short…but the noise it made caused my sister to jump / recoil just as far!
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:05 pmBig cats always seem to like the young ones… I had a jaguar stalk my first child at a local zoo, no plexiglass, just wire mesh - not a good feeling The funny part is, kids cartoons like Diego make kids think that these wild animals are all their friends - in fact, the jaguar is the most ornery of all the big cats
July 24th, 2008 at 5:25 amIt’s probably not a good idea to teach your kid to pet white tigers.
