Bush Orders Troops To Georgia
Let’s be clear. This isn’t just about humanitarian aid. It’s about the fact that the Russians will not commit anymore mayhem like the massacres of civilians they’ve already engaged in, and in fact will not stay, if the U.S. military is based for awhile in Georgia. Note Bush’s clear line that implies that we will stay in Georgia for as long as it takes to eject the Russians, and any undue influence they may have. In a way, it’s as if we’re annexing Georgia as a military protectorate: “The mission will be vigorous and ongoing,” It is a clear signal to Putin that fucking with Georgia, and by extension the Ukraine, is in some way like fucking with us. Interesting scenario. Russian, Georgian and U.S. armies in Georgia all at once, at a time like this.
Excerpt:
“Georgian President Saakashvili said the U.S. and West underestimated Russia’s regional ambitions and warned that “America’s reputation here, since (the) Cold War, is going to hell now.”
“We have been warning them a large scale Russian invasion is coming,” Saakashvili said. “(The) State Department told us the Russians are not going to do that.
Saakashvili denied Georgia had provoked the conflict in South Ossetia as Russia has claimed.
“I’m sickened by speculation that Georgia started anything,” he said, noting how he had to return to his country while on his way to the Olympics because Georgia had no choice but to “respond or to surrender.”
The U.S.-educated Saakashvili credited Republican presidential candidate John McCain with predicting Russia’s real intent, but did not make an endorsement in the U.S. presidential campaign.”
Fox:
WASHINGTON — President Bush has directed the U.S. military to lead a humanitarian mission to Georgia where tens of thousands have been forced out of their homes following a Russian invasion last week that has been described by Georgia’s president as an “ethnic cleansing.”
Bush said a U.S. C-17 aircraft with humanitarian supplies is already on its way and U.S. aircraft and Naval forces will deliver humanitarian and medical supplies to the country in the coming days.
“The mission will be vigorous and ongoing,” Bush said from the White House Rose Garden with Defense Secretary Bob Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice by his side.
“We expect Russia to honor its commitment to let in all forms of humanitarian assistance. We expect Russia to insure that all lines of communication and transport, including seaports, airports, roads and airspace, remain open for the delivery of humanitarian assistance and for civilian transit,” Bush said.
Bush said he is also sending Rice to Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, to “personally convey America’s unwavering support for the government of Georgia.” Rice will travel beforehand to France to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
“The United States stands with the democratic government of Georgia and insists that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia be respected,” Bush said. “The United States strongly supports France’s efforts as president of the European Union to broker an agreement to end this conflict.”
The president spoke after a busy morning of briefings and a phone conversation with Sarkozy and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, a close ally of the United States.
The administration also spent Wednesday morning trying to document whether Russia is violating the cease-fire it agreed to institute with the former Soviet Republic. FOX News confirmed that Russian tanks entered the city of Gori, just 40 miles from Tbilisi, on Wednesday, after they were supposed to have withdrawn.
“We expect Russia to meet its commitment to cease all military activities in Georgia, and we expect all Russian forces that have entered Georgia in recent days to withdraw from that country,” Bush said.
“To begin to repair the damage to its relations with the United States, Europe and other nations, and to begin restoring its place in the world, Russia must keep its word and act to end this crisis,” he added.
Nearly a week of bombings and rocket attacks has left heavy damage in Georgia. A joint civilian-military assessment team was flying into the country late Wednesday afternoon, local time, to gather information on exactly what is needed, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity before the president’s announcement. A second flight, with some initial humanitarian supplies such as sleeping bags and water, was to arrive after that.
In a conference call with international reporters earlier in the day, Saakashvili predicted a humanitarian disaster, the result of 100,000 people being displaced from their homes in the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which Russia wants to claim for itself. He also described “ethnic cleansing” in Gori, and said men and women are being separated and men put in internment camps.
Saakashvili said the U.S. and West underestimated Russia’s regional ambitions and warned that “America’s reputation here, since (the) Cold War, is going to hell now.”
“We have been warning them a large scale Russian invasion is coming,” Saakashvili said. “(The) State Department told us the Russians are not going to do that.”
The Georgian president said Russia’s “well planned invasion” is on a larger scale than the first days of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001.” He also said he feared Georgia is just the first nation to be subjected to Russia’s resurging territorial ambitions.
The U.S.-educated Saakashvili credited Republican presidential candidate John McCain with predicting Russia’s real intent, but did not make an endorsement in the U.S. presidential campaign.
Is this how it begins?

TBILISI (Reuters) - President George W. Bush’s pledge to send aid to Georgia means that the U.S. military will take control of the ex-Soviet state’s ports and airports, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Wednesday.

Thank God Almighty. When I read this a good song popped into my head and has me amped up,”Put your helmet on lets go to war, lets go.”
August 13th, 2008 at 9:33 amas far as our estimates go, they redeployed about 1000 tanks and APC/IFVs along with about 20,000 airborne troops and Chechen and Cossack mercenaries… most of our army is around the Tbilisi, preparing for the last stand, first of the C-17s have already landed in a capital full of much needed medical supplies …. “Javelins” and “TOWs” are welcome
August 13th, 2008 at 9:38 amWe shall see.
I will say this as I have been saying for many years.
The Iraq thing is NOTHING like the brutality on the Eastern front in WW2.
Now you will see a real war with a take no prisoners WW2 style fight. Remember the inferno;s of Kursk, Kharkov, Stalingrad, Minsk Smolensk, Leningrad, Narva Kiev etc etc etc. ad infinitum.
MILLIONS killed and that was just the SOLDIER count!!!!!!!!
Make no mistake just because those battles raged 65 years ago those guns were beastly and deadly.
Russians will NOT give a shit about Nuremberg rules etc. They hold no quarter
Now we shall see. You want a REAL WAR well brother be careful what you wish for.
What amazing times!!!!
PS Great coverage of this at your site.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:38 amRussia, A word to you. Watch your border with China. That is where your throat is about to be cut.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:49 amLet’s be perfectly clear here …
Before the left/lib talking heads come out and bitch and moan about our troops being in “harms way” in Georgia … and what the fuck are WE doing there???
Given the fact that Georgia fought beside us in Iraq, and we owe them more than a handshake for that …
The plain and simple fact here is …
We were asked, requested, invited … hell, begged … by the President of Georgia, and by the Georgia people …
August 13th, 2008 at 9:50 am“We have been warning them a large scale Russian invasion is coming,” Saakashvili said. “(The) State Department told us the Russians are not going to do that.”
Yep. The State Department is a hotbed of One-Worlder Internationalists who like nothing better than to hobnob with their enemies rather than stand up to their aggression. Their plan is a One-World where all the nations are buddies, and disputes are settled at the UN. The only problem with that idea is that it isn’t based on reality, as Russia’s aggression against Georgia illustrates.
After Georgia comes Ukraine and the others if we don’t stop them now.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:54 amGod bless Gearge Bush. A President with balls! AS dangerous as this might be, no reaction will forever mar our political standing with ALL of our allies. No one would EVER be able to trust our word as an ally if we permit this. This sends a very clear message to all of our allies and a clear warning to our enemies. After reading about their inept airforce that bombed their own facility I doubt Putin even thinks they are up to the task of challenging our military, no matter how stretched our ground forces are. He has seen our capabilities and is very aware of the efficiency of our forces. This may be too big of a risk even for him to gamble with. Let’s wait and see.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:58 amdrill: Left wont let the facts get in the way of their war on america and her military.
“Bush said he is also sending Rice to Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, to “personally convey America’s unwavering support for the government of Georgia.”
This seems to me to be the start of military presence in georgia and although I doubt it i’m just hoping this isn’t a let down and turns out to be solely humanitarian
August 13th, 2008 at 10:03 amAnd Putin sings: “…and Georgia’s always on my mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mind…”
August 13th, 2008 at 10:07 amOld Sailor
Actually I heard that Russia is heading towards Ukraine now.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:08 amAgain I thank God for President George W. Bush being our President. Today we seen the ‘take no shit’ Bush and I like it.
Could anyone imagine Russia’s response to Hussein if he were our uh….I can’t even say it.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:10 amHolbrook (The Moron)on PBS has been giving advice and remarking how, were Clinton/Talbot back in charge, this wouldn’t have happened. Boggles…
Old Sailor:
State, nothing they can’t fuck to a fare thee well.
To Mike W: from your lips to God’s ears.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:14 amCatch em on the hiways!!!
Bust their ass big time!
As per the “state dept”–take a few days off Condo-leee-zaahh, time for bullshit is over—besides, you State Dept. zeros have a piss poor track record.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:40 amDrillanwr
You miss-interpret. American soldiers are wonderful and that is their job to wage war.
My warning young lady is that NOW you have a WAR. This is NO joke.
The Russians are NO cowards and won’t back down and OF COURSE American troops like their German brothers are NO cowards and they will NOT back down.
Just be ready was my warning.
Personally Marines(Americas elite striking power force) SHOULD be involved here in Georgia. Exclusively.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:50 amOk now I can take back the we are pussies talk
August 13th, 2008 at 10:57 amGW you had me wondering big time on this.
Watching Sec. Rice right now …
I note a sense of almost urgency and breathlessness in her delivery I have not heard before …
Folks, I get a strong feeling our troops being sent in as “humanitarian aide” … are actually taking up ‘positions’ …
August 13th, 2008 at 11:11 amBy being all over Georgia cleaning up the humanitarian mess - and it absolutely is a pretext - we might prevent the Russians from consolidating their gains and extending them. With our troops comes the media, without which - good and bad - you can’t win the information fight and Russian propaganda rules. The possibility of hostile contact with the Russian army and separatist irregulars is no higher than the risk of, say, smoking while mopping up spilled gas. Just have to prevail if that happens and they’ll stop that @#$%. This move raises the stakes, but is a clever idea that can have a real impact when our short term options are limited.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:13 amBest of luck to the troops
August 13th, 2008 at 11:17 amI take back what I said about State.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:29 amI half expected this Russian expert to equivocate but she held strong, called proper blame while still recognizing innocents dead.
Go, Condi.
I agree: something’s up.
A stick in the eye of Vlad…Yanks next door.
Georgia should expect no less for all their help in Iraq.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:29 amIs the 82nd. providing the humanitarian support? If not what troops are going in and where are they coming from? Can we deploy from Iraq, Europe? What about Air cover? Will we be able to use our base in Turkey or have to depend on the Carriers? A lot of questions.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:32 amWe live in amazing times.
I hope and pray for the world’s finest soldier. May they carry the armor of God.
Special forces to the rescue. It should be very interesting next couple of weeks.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:32 amWhy the fuck do you idiots WANT a war with RUSSIA of all countries? Are you fucking stupid? Of you getting all excited about the prospect of war, how many of you are actual combat vets? Do you think this is a game?
I did my time in the Corps, and in Iraq; and I will re-up if this spills into real conflict, but I’ll be fucked if I’m EXCITED about it.
Grow the fuck up. This is bad news.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:37 amEyes on Ukraine and the need the russian navy has for their port.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:40 am173rd Abn. Bde. in Vincenza are just about the closest to this right now for any type of rapid deployment humanitarian aide.
I actually haven’t kept up if they are currently deployed elswhere right now though…
August 13th, 2008 at 11:43 amLet’s hope that the mere presence of US troops will be enough to make Putin flinch. Putin has to know, that despite our commitments in A-stan and Iraq, we are capable of providing a great deal of military force where we need it.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:35 pmJudas… So we should wait until they roll into exactly where before we put a stop to the murdering? We HAVE to nip this in the bud. I really don’t think Russia is stupid enough to take us on fully.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:48 pmNormally they would send in a MEU.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:50 pm173rd. in the Stan.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:51 pm96RinLA, the herd is in the stan I believe.
Faith of Judas, that’s one fucked up handle dude. Thanks for your service. I’m a combat veteran of that unpopular asian war. You know the one when the cowardly asshat D’rats abandoned our allies to be slaughtered.
I never want war! If we’re in one I want anhilation of the enemy toot fuckin’ sweet. The posters here are cheering on the people who may have to go settle this. None of us WANT our people in harms way, we look for the positive result.
Make me CIC and no Marines or Airborne troopers will be near Georgia till no Russian aircraft in the world is airworthy, no Russian tank will move and Putin is begging to be let up, tappin’ out!
August 13th, 2008 at 1:00 pmJudas we have the option here of NOT letting Georgia become the next sudetenland. Many of us in good conscience cannot consider the possibility of letting the Russians destabilize the area and sit back as the area descends into rounds of ethnic cleansing just so the Russians can prevent a former soviet bloc country with a democratically elected government from joining NATO and insult their sphere of influence.
Speaking as a Marine and a combat vet I think you need to grow up. We have a responsibility to the free people of the world to protect them not just because they are our allies but because no assault on their free lives can be allowed to go unchecked. If you’d check up on your history, especially the bits they drilled into your head at boot you’d see that appeasement doesn’t work it just delays the inevitable and makes the final price in innocent blood that much greater.
Hell I was going to go into the reserves after my lengthy hiatus as a nasty civilian but if this happens active duty here I come.
August 13th, 2008 at 1:39 pmI have read from one account that Georgia pulled its remaining troops to its capital. I read from another account that Russian tanks are heading to the capital.
Eminent showdown. Can we get there quickly enough?
Thinking Out Loud:
-There is no doubt as to Russia’s ambition to regain control of lost territory
-They have been watching the US involvement in the WOT and I believe waiting for an opportunistic moment when they felt we were preoccupied.
-They also have been opportunistic in waiting for the preoccupation of the media = Olympics.
-Quick and well planned strategic strike against Georgia before the eyes of the world would notice
-But now the world does notice. I cannot fathom that world sympathy will be for Russia. So my question is, what are they thinking? What is their ultimate motivation? Were they willing to risk the hope that America wouldn’t want to engage? Were they willing to do all this to use Georgia as a bargaining chip in UN Iranian negotiations? and of course limit Georgia’s and Ukraine’s bid for a NATO slot?
August 13th, 2008 at 1:49 pmI really hope just sending troops in will end the war, but if we must fight, it’s far better to do it now on our terms instead of later on Putin’s.
The State Department fucked up. I forget who said it, but “Diplomats are as important in starting wars as soldiers are in ending them.”
Foggy fucking Bottom. Suitable name. If they gave the government an enema, that’s where they’d shove the hose in.
August 13th, 2008 at 1:57 pmOnly the dead have seen the end to war…..
Nobody here is “excited” about war with Russia.
you. fucking. idiot.
A genuine fight OR Russia backing down has been inevitable since Pooty Poot set his hat for the return to Russian empire. We are as strong and capable as we have ever been. We have more experienced war fighters, more proven equipment and higher moral than we have had in my lifetime(and yours too I’d wager). What you see here is the warriors version of a sigh of relief. Anyone with an ear to the ground has heard this coming and now the rubber meets the road and we may get a chance to put some of this bull shit behind us for a while so the men and women doing the fighting and dying can get some r&r til the next two bit wannabe Czar comes along and thinks we are too weak to react again.
August 13th, 2008 at 1:57 pmGeneral Patton said it in WWII: “lets fight the sons-of-bitches right now while we have the army to do it with, were going to have to fight the bastards sooner or later anyway.” Well I guess he was right! Here we go! KGB putin
August 13th, 2008 at 1:58 pmThe russians have been building their forces with the oil money and a conflict with them will not be easy. I am sure they hve been working on countermeasures to our good stuff… I think we can contain but we don’t want a full on war. We’d go broke and they got the oil…
August 13th, 2008 at 2:00 pmRussia unzips–and needs viagra!
August 13th, 2008 at 2:16 pmLooks like Pooty screwed the pooch bigtime.
Ralph Peters exposes the incompetence of the Russian force:

American Infidel:
Sounds like the logo for a new Bush t-shirt. :o)
August 13th, 2008 at 2:19 pmIt’s reasonable to expect the Navy and an MEU are what have to follow on the C-17s; vastly more supply capacity than Airborne. It will be interesting to watch docking operations, given that many Russian ships are sitting off the coast.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:23 pm“But now the world does notice. I cannot fathom that world sympathy will be for Russia. So my question is, what are they thinking? What is their ultimate motivation? Were they willing to do all this to use Georgia as a bargaining chip in UN Iranian negotiations? and of course limit Georgia’s and Ukraine’s bid for a NATO slot?”
Perhaps the oil and gas pipeline is a factor, and they think we are war weary and spread too thin. The Russian logistics show it was pre planned, but Putin didn’t want this timing. Now he is trapped, and more importantly has pissed off his buddy GWB.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:26 pmBaroness W:
Your comment: “Holbrook (The Moron)on PBS has been…remarking how, were Clinton/Talbot back in charge, this wouldn’t have happened….”
Clinton is a MAJOR reason this happened. In the 1990s, Reuters, the AP, and yes, even the New York Times, were full of articles re. the billions of dollars from the West that were sent to Russia as “aid” and to help destroy her chemical weapons stock. However, much of the money was reported to have been diverted to foreign banks, used to “research” chemical weaponry, and spent on equipping Russia’s submarine fleet. God knows where the rest of the money went, probably to reinforce its military.
Get this. “Washington has insisted that profits the Russian government receives from the sale of American food be directed to meeting the nation’s pressing social needs. But Russian officials have resisted this demand, complaining that Washington is trying to control both the distribution of the food and the money the Russia expects to receive from its sale.” (NYT, ll-4-98)
It doesn’t sound like Russia was ever held accountable. I hope the Bush administration was savvy enough not to dole out billions of food dollars without heavy oversight.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:46 pmBaroness
I’ve been in catch-up mode trying to understand what’s been happening. Your New York Post article and many of the things you’ve been saying on this post and other posts have helped me understand the motivation of Russia.
I think Putin has made many assumptions that will (I pray) prove to be very, very, wrong.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:50 pmLast I heard it was an Army unit going with the C-17’s, no Marines, but I could be wrong.
August 13th, 2008 at 2:54 pmWell I say thank God. Hopefully Russia will reevaluate the costs and benefits of aggression when US troops arrive. I really hope that’s what happens, because if this develops into WWIII then I’m going to have to reenlist - and although I was proud to be a Marine 0331, I do enjoy being just another nasty civilian. But I know myself well enough, and I have never sat out a fight.
Faith of Judas: This is not bad news, this is an affirmation of the United States’ commitment to freedom and loyalty to her allies. So let me brake this down Barny style for you: Bad news would sound like an unimpeded Russian tank, while good news sounds like a rebel call. YUT!
August 13th, 2008 at 2:56 pmsidenote; Glen beck is going to interview Georgian president Saakashvili
August 13th, 2008 at 3:01 pmbman
Yes, I think it could be about oil, and about strategic control of the Caspian Sea, and about keeping Georgia and Ukraine out of NATO, and about the appetite for power.
But to get any of these things, Putin made a very big assumption: that America would not get significantly involved. (We’re probably the only ones who would stop this madman). I’m not sure Putin bought this assumption. Putin is a cunning man and there’s alot to lose if his assumption is wrong. I could just be naive.
I can’t help but suspect it’s bigger than that. Russia and it’s newest bed buddy, Iran, may be up to something.
August 13th, 2008 at 3:05 pmWho would be in charge of this type of operation in this part of the world. Petreus? or is there a General in Europe that would be in command?
August 13th, 2008 at 3:31 pmI know how to cut that million troops number down quick. Mr. Heinz this is a chance to avenge your grandfathers losses during the second WW
August 13th, 2008 at 3:36 pmRussia
You could a been a contender !
loser
meleager
August 13th, 2008 at 3:38 pmI’m wondering if it’s about positioning key American personnel between Russia and Iran. The only countries between the two are Azerbaijan and Armenia. The rapidity with which countries change names these days is mind-boggling so my map could be out of date!
August 13th, 2008 at 3:40 pmcitybilly just tweeted (twitter) that Russian troops are 15 miles from Tbilisi.
August 13th, 2008 at 3:42 pmI remember when we were doing Noble Anvil in Kosovo back in ‘99. We would pass Russian ships in the water with banners hanging off of them saying “Fuck you America” and “Go Home”. They have never liked us so I say fuck them in the ear…fuck them in the other ear….and fuck them in the eye so they can see where we are coming from!
August 13th, 2008 at 4:51 pmMotivation: Teach Georgia a lesson/make them an example for any other former Soviet republic that aligns too closely with the West; especially the USA.
Why send troops with aid? Reason 1. They have the skills, training and equipment to set-up and operate the ariel port operation and distribution network. Reason 2. Provide on-the-scene intel as to humanitarian relief needs and “other necessary information” Reason 3. They are a tripwire. If they are harassed or fired upon it opens the door for further US intervention. In this regard they can be a deterrent far stronger than their numbers would suggest.
August 13th, 2008 at 5:00 pminteresting news..and interesting becouse i read it in russian/commie propoganda newspaper, and it said that apparently the russian forces failed to suppress the georgian military as they should have given the size of an invading force…so far in the area where russians temporarly “rule” they have accounted for only 18-20 destroyed georgian tanks (T-72s) about 25 IFVs and APCs and 4-5 destroyed 122 mm MLRSs …although no word on their losses are given, some russian reports regardng the ambush (by our special forces!!) of the convoy of the 58th army general staff command center (that was a main driving force of the invasion) out of 30+ vehicles and IFV/APCs and trucks only 3 or 4 made it out, the general in command of that 58th army was actually shot in a ass which was also being shown on russian tv, the total losses of russian personnel and materiel will be known as soon as russian families will start getting the coffins with their sons back….as far as our losses the reports are ranging from 400 up to 3,500 :((( most of the boys were killed during the air raids using the cluster bombs , and i’m not including the civilians in the count, we dont know how many got killed during the bombing of the cities - hundreds if not thousands … one thing for sure, all the ground battles we fought in those 3 days we kicked their asses, up untill they opened the second front and deployed 1000+ more tanks/apc/ifvs …then we had to maneuver out of the onslaught that would have desroyed most of our military … im sure the exact figures of the losses will be known soon…. GW is THE MAN!
August 13th, 2008 at 5:02 pmCBL,
WTF?! Americans aren’t small enough to fuck someone in the ear The french on the other hand…
August 13th, 2008 at 5:28 pmGiorgi, if that news is true it is outstanding. It is still sad that the Russians have killed so many (now and in the past), but if Georgian forces managed to do what the propaganda newspaper states, then HELL YEAH! I send my best wishes to you, your family, and your country.
August 13th, 2008 at 5:49 pmI sometimes wonder if we were on the wrong side during Kosovo, that said, we cannot sit by while these Commie douchebags invade Georgia.
August 13th, 2008 at 5:50 pmWrong side on Kosovo?
Ya think?
I believe there is nothing the ex co presidents Clinton did that was for any good but their own.
We assisted the muslims (see Mark Steyn’s excellent book: America Alone–it’s all in the demographics- the muslims out bred the Christians and allowed the muslims to wage war)in that conflict and it was the wrong side. There is no hard and fast rule. That was then and we helped the muslims bring wmd(chem/bio) into the area (see Bill Gertz, Washtimes)
The propaganda manufactured by that corrupt administration has been disproved now. (The so-called massacres that allowed no forensics had my attention, along with fighting against Christians and helped Muslims, huh Gee, who would believe the ragheads would kill their own to set up the Serbs).
Thx for the kind words, Kim.
August 13th, 2008 at 6:56 pmMy Marines and I are standing by, salivating.
August 13th, 2008 at 7:49 pmThe other former Soviet Republics are ALL watching.
If they don’t like what they see from US…………….
August 13th, 2008 at 9:13 pmKeep up the good work Giorgi!
August 13th, 2008 at 9:30 pmYea a plane load of Javelins would really ruin their armor’s day hehehehe
Here is a little javelin porn for you http://www.guzer.com/videos/javelin_tank_missle.php
August 13th, 2008 at 10:02 pmThank God Bush is still the president. I can imagine what would happen had that balless freak bama rama ding dong been the president.
It takes Balls to stand up to Putin, a remorseless killer.

I agree with Zeke Eagle that few boots will be on the ground until air superiority is established.
August 14th, 2008 at 6:51 amSouth Ossetia fought for independence from Georgia over ten years ago and it was settled in ‘92 that there would be both Russian and Georgian peace keepers there indefinitely and that the region would remain semi-autonomous. So why the hell was President Saak. mobilizing troops to the region and even attacking it when it has been a powderkeg for the last 20 years? 3 Russian peace keeping troops died and 150 were wounded in the Georgian attacks. Nobody in our government is surprised by Russia’s reaction to this. The State Department even advised against Saak’s military actions because they KNEW what would happen! The fucking idiot GAVE the Russians a reason to act aggressively in the region. While nobody wants to see Russia gain any more territory in the Caucusus, we have to make it clear to our “allies” in the region that we won’t get dragged into a war because of their stupidity.
August 14th, 2008 at 11:28 amObey Truth,
wise man
August 14th, 2008 at 11:58 amThe US State Department is a cluster Fuc# of one world lefties.
August 14th, 2008 at 12:22 pmObey Truth,
Obey the Truth, or your troof? http://larussophobe.wordpress.com/2008/08/11/special-extra-%E2%80%94-editorial-the-facts-on-georgia/
August 14th, 2008 at 12:52 pmwelll..my relative just came back home from the frontlines(he was in with the “police forces” basically an army but for internal shit like this one), not a scratch thank god, although they got hammered pretty bad…the situation was following…georgian forces completly destroyed the first wave of the russian ground invasion (they were basically posing as ossetians, meaning that they alredy were there prior to major offensive)…russians being pissed at the losses they suffered from our soldiers have ordered the complete bombardment of the country with the exception of the capital(it was going to be left for desert) then on monday, after russian bombed the shit out of empty military bases along with the civilian population the French foreign minister came to georgia to force a peace agreement btwn us and russians, that included a full withdrawl of forces in ossetia (we had evry single strategic height in our hands!!!) so we did order a withdrawl ( rule No.1 - never listen do a diplomat whos country has lost both world wars!!!!! that goes to you franchie) scince most of the postions were left russians felt a little braver and came over the mountains through a Roki tunnel. The tunnel was scheduled to be blown the fuck up(6 tons of TNT loaded on the trucks were on the souhern end of the tunnel)…but russians apparently have gave us an ultimatum - if we blow up a tunnel the whole Tbilisi, our capital, was going to be carpet-bombed by the SCUD and TOCHKA-U misiles that they concentrated on the norhtern slope of the Caucasus range - they basically held most of the 1.4 million population of the city as a hostage ..the rest is pretty much know to all and how the things developed (rule No.2 - do not sign any peace agreement unless the guarantor of that agreement isnt a country who has lost both world wars!!! or any war for that matter, show me a single french victory, please im begging you)
August 14th, 2008 at 3:10 pmnow, the only territory under central govts direct control is Tbilisi and the port city of Batumi. Majority of our military is around the capital and dug in…. as far as mr.obey truths bullshit goes, someone take him outside and beat him with a shovel for me
giorgi, than you so kind
BTW, I start to understand why your president was so eager to attack the Ossetians, yeah, some business was going on in Nevada casinos
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-05-20-mccainadviser_n.htm

August 14th, 2008 at 4:14 pmfranchie
August 14th, 2008 at 4:37 pmand what do you make out of that ? that we are interested in McCain to win the election..i dint know it was wrong to do so…McCain, if you read some more, was behind the senate’s every single push to help georgia, and he visited georgia 3 times..so whats your point?? helping the US getting a right leader that will have some cojones by starting an all-out war with the russians…sorry but i think you need to lay off of the conspiracy theories for a minute …so we also helped the vladi liliputin to consolidate the russia around him…i guess we are playing on the both sides, is that right?
franchie
What exactly does that link have to do with Bush or Nevada casinos?
On the other hand, regarding Obama and lobbyists:

Giorgi - Standing Tall With YOU!
August 14th, 2008 at 5:02 pmfranchie - Have you heard of Communist Propaganda? I’m sure your country has endured it before! Yes?
August 14th, 2008 at 5:09 pmAmerican infidel, no this is an american link
now Giorgi was pushing me in the corner with his suggestions, yeah, he is brave enough to live in the States
August 14th, 2008 at 5:24 pmAmerican infidel, it is an american link
Giorgi was pushing me in the corner with his suggestion, though, he is brave enough to live in the U.States
August 14th, 2008 at 5:27 pmfranchie - to live in the U. States?
August 14th, 2008 at 5:44 pmI said this a few days ago but it is worth repeting. WHERE are all those peace loving, anti war protestors? Paris, no. Berlin, London calling? No. I live in DC and run my 5+ miles everyday and have yet to see a protest on the mall or even TV. What gives? Do US allies not rate the support of the NY Times and liberal donks?
August 14th, 2008 at 5:44 pmAmerican infidel,
funny that his posting times are of likely the west part of the US
August 14th, 2008 at 6:10 pmStay safe, giorgi
August 14th, 2008 at 6:32 pmfranchie say what you want to say straight up. Just spit it out and be done with it.
You’re suggesting Giorgi is here in the states. Just speak straight words. Word games are child’s play!
August 14th, 2008 at 6:52 pmfranchie also if you have suspicions - fine. Prove your point.
August 14th, 2008 at 6:53 pmWe stand with you, Giorgi.
August 14th, 2008 at 10:11 pmF**K Vlad…
Once KGB, always KGB.
yea man Judas is right! this is war. its not a game! im enlisted in the armed forces and i know what he means… whether we go to war or not i am ready to defend my country’s freedom and the freedom of less fortunate who cannot defend their own freedom
August 14th, 2008 at 11:35 pmneed some more “time” comparaisons, though he appears when the day light is over the US
anyway someone knows, the site owner
I find weird that the kind of people are pushing the button of “war”, I am sure that the population in Georgia has enough of these political bellicous tribulations and seek for peace.
the money that was spent in lobbying MCCain, means that they want that a candidate pro-military expenses get elected, for he will owe them to make the war that they are not able to handle themselve.
August 15th, 2008 at 1:18 amfellas
whos this franchie? …do i have to post a fucking picture of me next to a burning tank before she would shut the fuck up with that bullshit???
Pat,
August 15th, 2008 at 1:43 amis my IP showing as I am somewere in the US ?? has it ever been from the US, or it says Tbilisi, Georgia? some people have doubts apparently
giorgi
ignore franchie
August 15th, 2008 at 4:47 amshe’s an apologist (at best) for spineless france
and you appear to have enough to worry about
what is sad is that our govt isnt announcing the volunteer call-up, there are many people in tbilisi who are willing to fight..personally i went to the recruitment center and they told us (me and my friends) that no orders have been given to arm a population…many people in the city are veterans of the wars in the past(and afghanistan during 1979-1989 invasion), and they want to settle old scores with russians..i guess our govt has a better plan in mind..lets hope so…
August 15th, 2008 at 4:57 amto all, whos with georgia right now at this hour, i want to thank you
I see that Photoshop can help to make a “witness”
sully,
sumthin like the fake you acknoledged to have provided here :
https://pat-dollard.com/2008/07/iraqi-kids-mixin-it-up-with-american-troops/
August 15th, 2008 at 5:22 amfrenchie to be honest i dont give shit if you think im in somewere in the western us or on the mars..who gives a fuck about what you think … one thnk for sure Rice has said something about the Patriot missiles, and i like hearing these kind of things …
August 15th, 2008 at 8:36 amfranchie, accusing someone of something without proof is in bad form. Actually it sets you up for failure, don’t you think? Sometimes I’m up all night into the next morning and then sleep in the day time. Sometimes I sleep through the night and am up through the day. Would that make me look as though I don’t live in the states? According to your reasoning it would and you’d be wrong.
So why have you decided to go after Giorgi?
August 15th, 2008 at 8:44 amfranchie, your words: “I find weird that the kind of people are pushing the button of “war”, I am sure that the population in Georgia has enough of these political bellicous tribulations and seek for peace.
the money that was spent in lobbying MCCain, means that they want that a candidate pro-military expenses get elected, for he will owe them to make the war that they are not able to handle themselve.”
“that the kind of people are pushing the button of “war”,”
What people?
Are you claiming or suggesting Georgians bought McCain?
I’m pretty sure only the liberals in my country can be bought.
Just one more thought to share with you. Georgians don’t vote in our elections.
August 15th, 2008 at 8:56 amAmerican infidel, if you reread what I said, “need for more comparaisons”, it’s not a definitive opinion, it’s a supposition based on what I have remarcked, I don’t care anyway, his discourse sufice.
“So why have you decided to go after Giorgi?”
because he goes after the frenchs without knowing more than the propaganda that he learnt from the neocons that he seems to care the most, but they are likely not the Georgians though
August 15th, 2008 at 9:04 amAmerican infidel I didn’t assure that was a fact but a suppositon ; anyway his discourse suffice to understand where he stand, surely not for EU, and specifically not for France that he bashed the few times he posted here.
August 15th, 2008 at 9:39 amfranchie,
August 15th, 2008 at 1:56 pmto be honest, you should be able to read your own posts and choose your words carefully next time, and dont say stupid thing about subject that u apparently dont know…and what part of the neocon education i got that u claim i was wrong about - the part that germany and france decided to go for the immediat comfort that is a russian gas, rather than go for the long term goal of having an independet suply for gas..the part that EU cant decide on a single subject without the US interference (balkans, afghanistan troop increase)…..whatever…personally you just have this thing called arrogance, when i say something you gotta say the opposite - this tactic is rather kindergartenish, i hope you are a big girl now and lets start behaving like grown ups, ok, the reason i brought up the both WW is that your country has been in deep shit, twise, cause it apparently “misscalculated” its defencive strategy, and was hoping on some external force to liberate it (pardon but thats a part of the history now) so im wondering how a (dont know if you are) a native of that country who has endured this crap can talk about the other, much much smaller country that has had an ongoing cold war with russians for past 18 years that went hot…same thing was said about Czechs in Suddateland, same thing was done to Poland in ‘39, same pretext of guarding the pro-soviet population was used to invade Finland, how many more examples do you need before you can see that the duty of a powerfull european nations is to protect the smaller ones who chose a ‘western style” from being anhilated…does europe want to be under the russian controll is that a european dream? is that what are you suggesting, is the thought of loosing some comfort in order to stand up for what you believe in bothers europeans, then all the “bashings” that i presented were right on target, EU is feeding another monster with insatiable appetite for domination, and that monster will bite the shit out of the hand that feeds it…now tell me im wrong one more time please
again my county hasn’t been in deep shit twice, but once
First WW1 was almot win when the American troops arrived
tand that had not to do with miscalculating our defenses then you haven’t heard of the tranchées war, both germans and frenchs were buried and suffered the same casualties
The Tchecks had no problem with their minorities, plus they managed their scission with Slovakia with no injuries
now, I know that you put your disaster on France and Germany, though Germany had the voice not France, cause we aren’t a hosting member of Nato
I have read that specialists say that if even you were in Nato, that would likely have accelerated the processus of war with Russia
The reading of this crisis mostly agrees in saying that Russia wants to regain her influence sphere states, so far we never have been of Russia’s phere, and likely not in future
I am sorry for your people, I have seen a report on TV that interviewed some that were flying the from the fightings aeras, they say that “if the Russians want to take your president, then they can have him, but we ought to be left in peace”
so, that meens that many don’t care who is in power there, they will always be the people that pay the price
August 15th, 2008 at 2:15 pmOk, see WSJ today for history on Georgia. Twice annexed by russia, third time now. Today I saw the first pro Geirgian protest in front of Reservation Number One today, about time!!! Ruski should not feel comfortable anywhere in USA as diplomatas or tourists…
August 15th, 2008 at 4:10 pmAugust 15th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
