Coast Guard ships. Wow.
On the one hand I have the give the Russians credit for not fucking around and running their wars like a meals on wheels operation, which we do to an extent.
But on the other hand they are just kicking these people while they are down. You’re not going to tell me for one second that those coast guard ships were even trying to pose a threat to Russian forces.
All I’m wondering now is what course of action are we going to take when we go hot into this, which I think is a huge possibility now. Air strikes first on their positions in Georgia, and dogfights with Mig’s and SU’s vs. F-18’s and Raptors? In an air war they don’t stand a chance against our skill and technology.

Skill more than technology. Perfomancewise, their jets are as advanced as anything except the Raptor. But the training, and more importantly, experience of our pilots are on a whole different level. You could put our guys in F-4s and they’ll still kick the shit out of the Russian Air Force.
It’s the man, not the machine, that decides the outcome of a fight.

Excellent point. Been reading reports that the bombing runs of the Russians over targeted pipelines has been a bust. It was attributed to poor flying skills and poor training.
