August 25th, 2008 at 11:13 amHe’s raising a couple of pretty well adjusted kids too. I’m amazed, but I guess I shouldn’t be. I’ve watched his “Family Jewels” show and he pretty much explodes any image I ever had of him. Great guy.
August 25th, 2008 at 12:09 pmGene had a reality TV show that was actually pretty engrossing. He contacted the U.S. military and went through some basic training moves with his daughter. She passed with flying colors, but he had, let’s say, a litte more difficulty.
If memory serves correctly, I watched him greeting wounded soldiers once at Walter Reed Hospital. He really teared up.
He says he doesn’t drink and has never taken drugs. Hard to believe, but possible, for someone in his profession. Says his kids don’t take drugs either.
Way to go, Gene!

August 25th, 2008 at 3:08 pmI watched the roast last night and was laughing my ass off. My daughter and I love to watch this show because of the kids. As other have mentioned, both kids are very well adjusted. If you get a chance to watch the entire roast and watch, near the end, when he shakes the hand of each service member, he goes from Gene the rock star to a grateful American of those who serve.
