Even in the UK it better run for 250,000 miles to breakeven with even a 30 MPG car.

I drive a 1990 Honda CRX that gets 36 MPG city and sometimes up to 50 MPG (downhill with a tailwind) It weighs less than a ton and brand new (1990) the car cost $9000. Give me an equivalent and I’ll buy a new car. What I’ve seen though is that even hybrids don’t get the kind of fuel economy that I do, so WhyTF should I buy a different car?

Oddly enough it is shaped similarly to my CRX, and if it truly is affordable, and available in the US, and it’ll run forever (like a honda), and it truly does get 100 mpg, they might get me as a customer.

There’s an awful lot we could do to get more MPG in a car. But unfortunately, Congress got involved in what a car has to be.
