“Looks like, we’re in for nasty weather… hope you, are quite prepared to die”

Remember that nuclear holocaust half of you prepared for as kids, which really just means “spent portions of your childhood scared shitless about it”? Remember how it went away? Remember the morning you woke up and it was back again, only worse because a genuine psychopath was rebuilding the U.S.S.R. and building a global alliance of virulently anti-US nations while snatching up the lion’s share of the earth’s energy and exercising control of the flow of most of it with the aid of his allies? While the Democrats decided to help sow the seeds of America’s destruction by doing things like killing its own troops in the battlefield in the hopes of creating a massive Vietnam-style defeat as well as other key self-destructive things like this?

Times Of London:

Russia snubbed its nose at the United States today by announcing plans to sell military equipment to both Iran and Venezuela.

The head of the state arms exporter said that Russia was negotiating to sell new anti-aircraft systems to Iran despite American objections.

“Contacts between our countries are continuing and we do not see any reason to suspend them,” Anatoly Isaikin, general director of Rosoboronexport, told Ria-Novosti at an arms fair in South Africa.

Reports have circulated for some time that Russia is preparing to sell its S-300 surface-to-air missile system to Iran, offering greater protection against a possible US or Israeli attack on the Islamic republic’s nuclear facilities. The missiles have a range of more than 150 kilometres and can intercept jets approaching at low altitudes.

Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, said that it was logical to conclude a lucrative contract with Iran “in the current situation, when the US and the West in general are stubbornly gearing toward a confrontation with Russia”.

Russia has already delivered 29 Tor-M1 missile systems under a $700 million deal with Iran in 2005.

Sergei Chemezov, the head of state-owned Russian Technologies also disclosed that Venezuela’s leader Hugo Chavez wanted to buy anti-aircraft systems, armoured personnel carriers, and new SU-35 fighter jets when they come into production in 2010.

US plans to site an anti-missile shield in eastern Europe to deter surprise attacks from Iran have outraged Russia, which believes the system in Poland and the Czech Republic is aimed at weakening its defences.

Strains between Nato and Russia after the war in Georgia have also contributed to a sharp deterioration in relations.

Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, one of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s closest allies, has visited Venezuela and Cuba this week. Kommersant said that Russia was forming “alliance relations” with the two anti-American regimes as a response to US involvement in former Soviet republics.

Mr Sechin said that “military-technological cooperation” between Russia and Venezuela was increasing, adding that the two sides were also in talks on oil and shipbuilding projects.

President Chavez is expected to visit Moscow next week. Two Russian long-range strategic nuclear bombers landed in the Venezuelan capital Caracas last week, the first time they had visited the Latin American state.

The TU-160 Blackjack supersonic bombers took off last night for the return journey to Russia after completing their patrol mission along the South American coast, air force spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Vladimir Drik said.

Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State, voiced concern at Russian bomber flights close to American shores last month and warned Moscow that it was playing a “dangerous game”.

Mr Sechin travelled to Nicaragua yesterday as part of Russia’s efforts to revive its influence on America’s doorstep in Latin America. Nicaragua was the only state to join Russia in recognising the independence of Georgia’s breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and President Daniel Ortega is also due to visit Moscow soon.

Russia is on the move and this is just the tip of the iceberg. They have gotten their meat hooks into some oil money and will use it quickly to reestablish the Soviet Empire. Nations that have separated away from Russia will be reabsorbed into the whole, either willfully or through conquest. Get prepared to witness a modern day version of the Hun’s descend out of the steppes of Russia.

I’m not worried, the Russkies armed Iraq as well and you see how well they did in two wars against us. Heck, Russia was caught off gaurd by the Georgian AA. What do you think we would do to them…..Although, I would very much prefer not to have us go to war with them unless we have to.

It is over confidence that will hurt us also.

Time to stop the power plays and start working together. Simple as that. While we as a nation play my candidate is better than yours the unstable bad guys world are gathering to unleash hell on us. Our attentions are diverted too far from real threats. Yes we need a strong President but we need to be fully aware of WHY!

With the difference of technology I see little different from them now as they were in the past. But lets not thumb our nose at them and forget history. There were others that fought them in the past that considered them to be less intelligent and below their capabilities only to taught valuable lessons on the battle field. We did not fight Russia in Iraq, we fought Iraq in Iraq and they merely used Russian hardware. So lets look to the past and be prepared in advance.

Those early Huns, using the traditional tactics of mounted archers, seemed like monsters from the darkness to their more civilized contemporaries. The Roman historian Ammianus Marcellinus, writing at the end of the fourth century, described their savage customs and elaborated on their military tactics:

The nation of the Huns…surpasses all other barbarians in wildness of life….And though [the Huns] do just bear the likeness of men (of a very ugly pattern), they are so little advanced in civilization that they make no use of fire, nor any kind of relish, in the preparation of their food, but feed upon the roots which they find in the fields, and the half-raw flesh of any sort of animal. I say half-raw, because they give it a kind of cooking by placing it between their own thighs and the backs of their horses…. When attacked, they will sometimes engage in regular battle. Then, going into the fight in order of columns, they fill the air with varied and discordant cries. More often, however, they fight in no regular order of battle, but by being extremely swift and sudden in their movements, they disperse, and then rapidly come together again in loose array, spread havoc over vast plains, and flying over the rampart, they pillage the camp of their enemy almost before he has become aware of their approach. It must be owned that they are the most terrible of warriors because they fight at a distance with missile weapons having sharpened bones admirably fastened to the shaft. When in close combat with swords, they fight without regard to their own safety, and while their enemy is intent upon parrying the thrust of the swords, they throw a net over him and so entangle his limbs that he loses all power of walking or riding.

Yes we are more technologically advanced in our hardware and in our training, but so were the Romans and if Roma had fear of anyone it was the early Hun’s, after all they were know as “The Scourge of God”.

Their AA weapons won’t do jack shit to our F22s…

  6. deathstar

They will not even see F22s. In Iraq the latest russian JDAM jammer was destroyed by a JDAM (ha ha).

  7. Dogbert41

Six months of an Obama presidency and they won’t have to fight us. We’ll be them.

I got two things to say:

1 Israel needs to move on Iran as soon as possible after Nov 4,
before too much Soviet hardware gets in there.

2 Obama being elected guarantees a very big war within his first term,
I’d guess within his first two years.

If we want peace, only McCain can deliver it.

Hussein Obama is weak, confused, and cannot stop or
even deal with the Russian expansion. Russia recognizes
this and this is part of the reasoning for their movements.
Only McCain/Palin has a hope of warding off the Russians.
It is crucial to get McCain and Palin into the White House.

 Just frigging wonderful. It seems that all of our efforts in defeating the Soviets in the Cold War are being pissed away. Our high tech gear is great, but the Russians are getting there quick. And it only takes one nuke to ruin your whole day! Who do you want at the helm when we’re standing toe-toe with the Bear? The ObamaBorg?

  14. Hardball1911

    CanDoEZ

Clinton started the downward spiral by selling secrets. Congress did nothing, and now we have the current Congress.

It will take another “cold” war possibly heating up so that we can get back on track again. We must be wise about our use of the technology and those that we allow to even know it exists. So far, that isn’t happening.

I still remember the days when I was told that fast roping was a top secret method and I would be prosecuted if I ever mentioned it. Then it comes out in a movie, and is talked about by the news every time it is done these days. This is the world we live in.

Stay prepared, and we may make it out of this thing. We may very well be called home prior to it though too, don’t forget that… God will provide.
