Politico Refuses To Apologize To Palin, Mocks The Very Idea
I’ve said since this dump opened it’s URL that they are firmly in the tank for the Left, despite the great lengths they go to pretend otherwise.

Politico (Politico)
Why the media should apologize
ST. PAUL, Minn. — On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.
On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.
We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.
We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.
Sarah Palin hit the nail on the head Wednesday night (and several in the audience wish she had hit some reporters on the head instead) when she said: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.”
But where did we go wrong with Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways:
First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.
Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).
Third, we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.”
Why go there? What trees does that plant?
Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.
Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”
Fifth, we should stop reporting on the families of the candidates. Unless the candidates want us to.
Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.
Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.
Sarah Palin thinks that one is good for her campaign and one is not, and that the media should report only on what is good for her campaign. That is our job, and that is our duty. If that is not actually in the Constitution, it should be. (And someday may be.)
The official theme of the convention’s third day was “prosperity,” but the unofficial theme was “the media are really, really awful.”
Even Mike Huckabee, who campaigned for president this year by saying “I am a conservative, but I am not mad at anybody,” discovered Wednesday night that he is mad at somebody.
“I’d like to thank the elite media for doing something,” Huckabee said, “that, quite frankly, I didn’t think could be done: unify the Republican party and all of America in support of John McCain and Sarah Palin.”
And could that be the real point of the attacks on the media? To unify the Republican Party?
No, that is simply the cynical, media view.
Though as Lily Tomlin says, “No matter how cynical I get, it’s just never enough to keep up.”
I couldn’t resist that. For which I am sorry.
exposed for what they really are, and suddenly realizing everbody saw it, embarrassed, shamed, utterly discredited… now writhing on the floor, like a wimpering Gollum, pleading for mercy when you know they’ll just do it again ‘cuz they just can’t help it.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:18 amYou stated:
“I went on to justify my reasoning of McCain picking such a VP that it WOULD put the lazy lame MSM off their tired old game, and they would have to get off their fat asses and actually work to investigate and report on something real, and NOT contrived.”
I remember a time when we had actual reporters who did their own investigation. Now all the lazy MSM ass wipes either don’t know how to investigate a story or they’re just too damn lzy….. so the go to DKOS, DU HUFFPO etc, and take the BS That the nut roots spread as Gospel, and print it as facts.
Then the NYT LAT wonder why their circulation and stock price is falling.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:31 amAll those scrawny talking heads with their cocktail smiles are about to meet the Perfect Storm.
Abilty, oppertunity and mind set on the political battlefield.
Get some Sarah! You are in a target rich environment.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:37 amsimon is a simpering coastal bitch.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:38 amthis is Snide. I was watching Laura Ingram with Gretta Van Susteran (sp) after the convention and her friend who works for the Obama kampaign called to tell her that Sarah Palin’s speech was snide, and that snide may work in the journalism business, but it doesn’t work for politicians.
This guy is Snide. He’s unapologetic. These “apologies” are slaps in the face. The treatment of Sarah Palin is unbalanced. That’s the world we live in, but don’t take your holier than thou reporter approach to it. You may feel that you are above it due to the Bill of Rights, but being under investigation is not the same as being under investigation for firing someone who wouldn’t fire someone. And as far as the bridge to nowhere, being for it before being against it is ok. She came down with a final decision on the right side. How many times have offers been misrepresented to you and when you truly find out what they are talking about you say, thanks but no thanks.
He may have the freedom of the press, but his reporting leaves something to be desired.

Poor Roger. He’s playing all hurt, like’s he been unfairly criticized. I mean, it’s not as if anyone asked him if the reason he and his media colleagues were relying on rumours from the Daily Kos and the Democratic Underground to fuel their “questions” and “news” stories was because they couldn’t properly balance their family and professional responsibilities. It’s not as if they haven’t asked exactly the same questions of every other candidate standing for a new office (just check for all the articles wondering how Obama has devoted sufficient time to his children given that he’s been campaigning for president for two years; asking for DNA tests on his children to prove that they are his, and wanted to see the medical records involving their births, including the details of when Michelle went into labour, or her water started to leak, or broke, and exactly who she spoke to and where both he and she were at every moment throughout). I could go on and on and on, but this sort of self-serving crap makes me mad as hell!!
September 4th, 2008 at 10:07 amDear Roger:
Are you having your stroke in installments?
Have you gone daft?
Have you sipped some tainted kool aid?
Between you, Couric, Williams, Gibson, and a long list of MSM pundits & stars, I have to wonder if you’re all suffering from simultanteous synaptic misfires?
No one is angry at the media for asking the legitimate questions you claim the media asked about Sarah Palin.
How can we be angry at something the media never did?
All potential Presidential and VP candidates are vetted by the media. As they should be.
The problem in this case, is that MSM didn’t ask questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
You didn’t asked questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?
You didn’t ask those question until AFTER you indulged in a “bitch hunt” campaign started by the Daily Kos, and carried on by every slime ball Obama-loving, woman-hating, Hilary bashing, jihadi-supporting, terrorist-sympathizing,
America-hating left wing online blog, website, and MSM outlet.
You ALL made the National Inquirer seem worthy of a Nobel prize for journalistic integrity.
LONG before the media, elite and otherwise, asked the real questions, you engaged in rampant disgusting and unoriginal attacks on Sarah Palin, her daughter Bristol, and her down symndrome baby Trig; alleging that Trig was NOT Sarah’s child, but rather her grandchild, having been born to her daughter Bristol.
The media seem to have confused Sarah Palin with Wisteria Lane’s Bree Hodge.
Comments by “special needs child rearing experts” like CNN’s John Roberts regarding how the Alaska governor’s newborn son with Down’s syndrome might be affected if she were elected: “… “Children with Down’s syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of Vice President, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?” were echoed throughout the left wing media.
Of course if Sarah had been a man…no one in the media would have felt this kind of question was the hallmark of responsible journalism or a necessary part of the media vetting process.
Then there were all those very important questions about her husbands DUI of 22 yrs ago? And this is relevant, how?
If the Media thinks that her HUSBAND’s DUI is of any serious consequence or would somehow serve to prove that Palin is incapable of serving her country as VP or President,
then I have five words for you
Ted Kennedy. Mary Jo Kopechne. Chappaquiddick.
Oh, can I throw in 2 more words: VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER!
I’m Just Saying!
.
Sen Joe Biden wanted the media to report on his son Beau who will be deployed to Iraq on October 3rd.
Sen.Biden did not want the media to report on his teenage daughter, Ashley, who was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar in early August. That was referred to as a private family matter.
I’m Just Saying!

Correction, hun …
“If Sarah were a democrat …”
September 4th, 2008 at 11:16 amSixth: We should stop trying to convince ourselves and our brainless readers that we are fair and balanced, and admit we’re a bunch of leftist pussies.
September 4th, 2008 at 2:28 pmthe fucks can’t even do sarcasm right;
Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.
that’s what you are all doing for obama, and when palin is involved you act like its the media not doing its job -
fuck all of you!
September 4th, 2008 at 2:33 pmDG: “Are you having your stroke in installments?”
Perfect!
September 4th, 2008 at 2:40 pmDanger Girl;
or report that it was a lesbian bar, and the “obstruction” consisted of threatening the cop with her “Power Family” status as Biden’s daughter. Shhhhh….!!!
I think the republican party has moved from ‘turn the other cheek’ to ‘kiss my ass’ … and about damn time!
September 4th, 2008 at 5:21 pmSooner or later, one of these reporters is going to get bitch-slapped on tv. (pardon the un PC)
September 4th, 2008 at 5:29 pmsomehow that pinko fuck snuck in the RNC, DAMN I WISH I COULD RUN INTO THAT LITTLE BITCH SOMEWHERE AND BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HER. i dont care that she is a woman, women i know dont act like that.
September 4th, 2008 at 6:27 pmjake: where I come from a woman is a lady, and is respected and protect as such, but if the woman takes the attitude that those things love so much then they are “wannabe men” and treated accordingly,
September 4th, 2008 at 7:35 pmNow about the questions from politico/hussein’s call to glory was his work as a litigation lawyer???/a total of 144 days as a senator/raise by Marxists, and hates soldiers and babies/go figure.
Now VP Palin, was the mayor of a town, which prospered, the governor of a state and takes on the entrenched power and wins, and refuses to kill her on son. Oh yea and likes and knows how to use guns.
So I think politico should ask those questions from hussein, and the Alqueda whore evans/maybe not/those who have eyes will see.
Politico knows that the problem is not so much the questions they ask Sarah(however leading and unprofessional) but the lack of questions for Barrack. They worked very hard to damage Fred Thompson in the primaries and they continue to prove themselves to be agenda driven every day.
September 4th, 2008 at 11:58 pmWhen Hillary was in the running, no one in the MSM questioned her qualifications based on her husbands impeachment several years ago
Fuck these stupid motherfuckers.
September 5th, 2008 at 5:35 amDangerGirl: YOU ROCK!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:44 amDrill:
Correction, hun …
“If Sarah were a democrat …
While do I get your point in truth Hillary was a democrat and that didn’t save her from be savaged by the Obamedia.
Roger & his cohorts in the MSM aren’t in denial about their bias, they know it’s true, the just believe its okay because they believe their shit don’t stink and they can get away with anything they chose.
And now, after throwing Hillary under the bus the MSM, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and Dean need her to “fend off” Sarah Palin: The little ole soccer mom who was ONLY the mayor of a ‘really small town” . The ’she ain’t got nothing on Obama” meme blew up in their face…so now they need to haul Hillary out from under the bus and USE her to fight their battle.
They have no fucking shame!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:45 amI think the republican party has moved from ‘turn the other cheek’ to ‘kiss my ass’ … and about damn time!
And it took a WOMAN to help them do it, Drill!!
Fucking A!!!
WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!!
