Maliki Demands Disarmament Of Mehdi Army
BAGHDAD (AFP) - Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki demanded Saturday that militants claiming loyalty to radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army lay down their arms, in an unusually strongly-worded statement.

Biggest mistake we ever made was letting that fucker waltz right out of the mosque his cowardly little ass was hiding in. Kill the source of the poison. Don’t let it spread.

July 7th, 2007 at 11:37 amLacobus…. I was coming to this comment page to say the same thing, but you beat me to it.
Now ,will somebody PLEASE shoot that son-of-a-bitch!!!
July 7th, 2007 at 11:55 amThey had him in Falusha, but he acted like he was ready to cooperate, so they let him go. Big mistake, should have just offed him then.He is in cahoots with Iran anyway.
July 7th, 2007 at 12:33 pmSeems to me that the US has asked several times in the past that the Mhdi Army be disbanded. And didn’t we fight a battle with those scumbags? And wasn’t it Maliki that stopped it, before the battle was finished?
I for one, would love to see a knock-down drag out final showdown with “shorty” and his 12th Iman militia.
Shorty, like all his brave(cough) mullah-dictator wanabee co-conspirators will call for shahid and Jihad. Then he/they will go off and find a burqua to hide under.
And isn’t there an outstanding arrest warrant out on shorty? Well, Mr Maliki, carry out your duties. Arrest the little dictator; or kill the Iranian stooge.
July 7th, 2007 at 12:48 pmSome very insightful folks have said: in Western politics, what is said in public is just for show, it is private conversations that count. But in Arab politics, it is the public statements that really count.”
This is the 1st time that Maliki has really issued such an ultimatum to Sadr, in public. He wdn’t have taken this step w/out close coordination of the US Mil, IMHO.
Sadr may be taking another “vacation” to Iran soon…
July 7th, 2007 at 8:13 pmYea I think this corresponds well with the other developments in terms of the Sunni tribes and former insurgents coming over to the US and IG.
Basically all those agreements lay the groundwork for who are are basically allowed to kill. Really formalizing the process of finding out who is for or against Iraq and then dealing accordingly. Once Iraqis were willing to work with us against foreign scumbags it is a small step to doing so again against local scumbags (or fellow Shia scumbags). They’re tired of this shit, and so are we.
My fear is that Mookie KNEW he was about to get his ass handed to him and is maybe gonna play the waiting game until the dust settles a bit and much of our force presence leaves (if we give him the chance and take him at his word/leave him in peace again). Or until war with Iran. Hard to say, but I’d prefer he DIDN’T disarm so that we could flatten everything in Mookland without the msm crying.
