December 10th, 2007 at 6:37 pmOK, that was KEWL but the third photo appears to be bass-ackward. Notice the little knobby things sticking out on the left side of the photo? Well, those little knobby things are on the opposite side of the second photo. Notice also the angle of the plane in all other photos is left to right/front to back but the third one is opposite. Who screwed that up? Surely not a fly-boy.

December 10th, 2007 at 6:41 pmJarhead. don’t make too much out of that. It’s hard to say, but I would suggest that there are hydraulic controls on either side of that door. Not sure because I was never a tender on one. I look at the aircraft and the light/shadows on it are proper.

If a jet was to get that close up behind such a large cross-section as the fuselage of a C-130…the engine/s would suffer “compressor-stall”, and thefighter would fall out of the sky until the pilot could get them spun up enuf for a restart….

I’m also pretty sure that he’d be in a compressor stall situation that close to the back of a C130 with the ramp down.
The transition into non laminar flow that close to the back would also cause some series grief.
Anyone remember what happens to a Chinese jet when he gets to close to another aircraft?

Our f-16’s are single seat, they order 2 seaters so the back seat guy runs the weapons systems and then they add all kinds of extras on a proven airframe and save zillions while we spend spend spend
