UPDATE: Berkeley High Teachers Encourage Kids To Stand w/Code Pink
UPDATE: Me and Louie personally called Berkeley High School and talked to the nice lady at the office and she said that the kids were permitted to leave campus to go down and protest with the Code Pinkos. I asked if it was instigated by the students or the teachers and she did the standard cover-your-ass line of :
“Well, we heard one of our substitute teachers suggested to the kids that they should just go down and join Code Pink, but our principal told him not to do that, but that the students were allowed to leave campus to go to the protest if they wanted.”
Berkeley High School is about a block away from all the action today, which at some points have turned violent. Not a place for kids to be hanging out, that’s for sure.
That’s it …
**CHA-CHING****
**GURGLE … GURGLE***
The sound of federal funds for the city AND the schools going down the toilet.
I’m well done with this bullshit. Done fucking around with [these] people … It really IS a good thing I can’t be there.
Marines! Fix bayonets, and lock and load!
February 12th, 2008 at 12:25 pmI wonder if some of those students were to walk in and sign up….what would the substitute teacher say then?
February 12th, 2008 at 1:07 pmWell, this will be the next group of 30 or so college kids that stand by a wall and let some chump walk down the wall shooting each one in the head without any one of them trying to save their own life much less the person next to them. Sad….
February 12th, 2008 at 1:07 pmHey…isn’t that Keith Olbermann!
February 12th, 2008 at 1:09 pmHow can we let cities in this country pretend to be their own little communist nations? seriously this may be the most Effed up situation ever. forget that little hick town Brattlesboro,VT. this is crazier than that and someone in the government needs to grow some balls and shut this down immediately
February 12th, 2008 at 1:18 pmWHERE is the California government in this? Seriously — Arnold Schwarzenegger is a fool for letting this circus continue in his state. As a North Carolinian, I can be proud to say (and to know) that this bullshit isn’t tolerated around here.
They’re just a bunch of chumps who probably read poetry, learn homo history, hold hands, talk about feelings and hold group masturbation sessions all day. Please, Lord, Soddom & Gomorrah the place. Amen.
February 12th, 2008 at 1:31 pmAny USN or USMC Vets remember “dungaree liberty” ? Seems like a good idea in this situation…

Yes! Berkeley would be ideal for an extended liberty.
February 12th, 2008 at 5:31 pmAnd they are bitchin about their gormet school lunch earmark being taken away . . .
I say strip them down to pencils and paper . . .
My husband is a junior high teacher and when hundereds of their kids walked out to protest in surport of amnesty and Mexico last year . . . they got a zero for the day . . . No I would have preferred expulsions . . . but a zero was pretty good considering the liberal-minded, Latino loving school district my husband works in.
February 12th, 2008 at 9:00 pmWhat would have happend if one of the kids joined up on the Marine side? Would they have gotten punished?
February 13th, 2008 at 3:34 amThere were kids on both sides of the issue — its just that the pro-Marine kids already cared about the issue before they were offered orange bandannas and the chance to ditch school.
The up side of all this nonsense has been that anti-anti-war protester kids have begun to make contact with one another and now have support they weren’t getting from the school, and certainly not from the teachers.
