Dumb C*nt Award: “Why Didn’t You Take The Bullets Out?”
Despite some of his shortcomings, my Dad (RIP 1986), was a hippie in the 60’s and a coke dealer in the 70’s (methinks that’s why me dear old muddah divorced him) and a man who knew guns. One positive thing he taught me that I never forgot (besides “never shoot dope”) was never point a gun at somebody unless you intend to use it, and if you intend to shoot somebody you had better kill them.
“Can’t fire the weapon if it ain’t loaded, ya know…and waving an empty gun in somebody’s face is as stupid as sticking your arm in a tiger’s cage,” he said.
ABC’s Elizabeth Vargas…good grief. Oh! Hey! Yeah! When taking a gun to confront an angry mob, make sure you unload it first!…
Dumb cunt.
Remember that video recently with the father of the dead teenager in Long Island who was screaming and completely pissed off? This is the shooter…
On Friday, ABC’s 20/20 featured a story about a Long Island man, John White, who was put on trial for shooting a teen, Dano Cicciaro, in his driveway after Cicciaro and some friends showed up at 11:00 PM during a dispute with White’s son Aaron. While the story was mostly balanced in noting the strengths and weaknesses in each side’s case, at one point, Elizabeth Vargas oddly asked White why he didn’t remove the bullets from his gun before confronting the group of five hostile teens:
“So you grabbed it hoping to scare the boys? … So why not take the bullets out?”
Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Friday April 4 20/20 on ABC:
ELIZABETH VARGAS: It was just after 11:10 PM, August 9, 2006. Dano Cicciaro and four of his friends pulled up outside the home of John White. According to the White family, this is what it looked like to them: bright lights shining up their driveway and several angry young men shouting outside.
SONIA WHITE, MOTHER OF AARON WHITE: I was paralyzed with fear. I never felt like that in my life before.
JOHN WHITE, FATHER OF AARON WHITE: It reminded me of a lynch mob. That’s how they, that’s how they acted, calling for my son.
VARGAS: There would be many disagreements about what happened that night. What is undisputed is that just before he left the garage, John White made a fateful decision. He picked up a loaded .32-caliber pistol that had been handed down to him by his grandfather.
VARGAS: When you walked outside with that gun, were you planning to use it?
JOHN WHITE: No. I wanted to repel them. I wanted them to go away.
VARGAS: So you grabbed it hoping to scare the boys?
JOHN WHITE: That’s all.
VARGAS: So why not take the bullets out?
JOHN WHITE: Because it was no time. They were coming up the driveway.

“Can’t fire the weapon if it ain’t loaded, ya know…and waving an empty gun in somebody’s face is as stupid as sticking your arm in a tiger’s cage,” he said.
this reminds of the time someone tried to do a driveby shooting on me and some of my friends after they got their ass kicked in a fight. well they drove by he pulled the handgun out, squeezed the trigger and it jammed. then as karma works got stuck in traffic about 20 feet up the road. man we gave him the beating of his life that night.
(it was in high school. and no im not into driveby shootings or stupid shit, this happened after a normal fist fight that the guy lost to one of my friends.)
but fortunately for him the gun jammed. getting your ass beat is better than prison for murder.
April 10th, 2008 at 12:55 pm” never point a gun at somebody unless you intend to use it, and if you intend to shoot somebody you had better kill them.”
April 10th, 2008 at 2:02 pmright you are.
And NEVER pull it unless you CAN pull the trigger.
Have had to use a gun only once, fired into the ground to prove to my attacker that it wasn’t a toy,he left… end of story…
April 10th, 2008 at 2:12 pmFirst rule of gun safety taught to me by dad was never point a gun at anyone unless you plan on pulling the trigger and shooting them dead. This he told me after he had handed his shotgun to me and I mistakenly waved it around past his head, though never actually at him. His eyes were very cold and he spoke with a quiet seriousness in a man to man manner.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:19 pmA couple years back a guy tried to rob a pizza delivery man in Indianapolis.
After getting the money the robber attempted to kill the delivery guy.
Click, Click, Bang 8x’s as the pizza guy drew his 9mm and shot the perp 8x’s before he hit the ground.
The perp had the draw on him, can’t hardly draw from concealment like that.
The perp had a Glock40, a nice gun, fully loaded magazine.
Fortunately for the pizza guy there wasn’t one in the chamber.
Ruled a “Justifiable Homicide” the pizza guy rightly went free.
He was fired for being able to defend himself.
So there’s another rule, you must be prepared to use it, not just able to pull the trigger.

One of my instructors at MCT used to say, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” I still use that one when I Drill Instruct at the Fire Academy.
