I would step outside the self-imposed, but expected, restraint, and look across the table and remark, “Senator, did you hear what I said? Is it a [hearing] problem, or a comprehension problem … because I can re-state my answer to your question in smaller words you might more easily understand … sir.”
April 8th, 2008 at 6:53 amMy opinion of P4 just changed. I used to admire his intellect. Now I admire his patience and courage. The ability to sit and listen to the pre-adolescent posturing of a bunch of word-parsing, legalistic, petulant politicians is beyond admirable. I’m sorry to say- that shit would bring me across that table faster than you could say “assault and battery.” We pay GEN Petraeus to be an effective combat leader. We pay senators to be wise. One out of two aint bad, I suppose, but it aint good, either.
