‘Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less’ Campaign Update
In the last couple days, since we ran Newt Gingrich’s ad campaign here at patdollard.com, I have heard it mentioned on several radio talk shows, including Limbaugh’s, and it IS catching on …
So, if you haven’t visited the American Solutions site yet and signed the petition … or sent the link around to all in your email line-up, do so.
I was out this afternoon and gas here in my part of NE Ohio is .05c away from $4.
Anyhow, the petition is catching on and growing:
‘Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less’ campaign continues to gain momentum
WASHINGTON, May 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — American Solutions for Winning the Future announced today that more than 100,000 Americans have now signed a petition urging Congress to immediately start drilling for oil domestically to ease gas prices. The petition is part of the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” campaign American Solutions launched last week.
The petition reads:
“We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries.”
Next week, American Solutions will deliver the signatures, gathered from citizens in all 50 states, to the U.S. Senate as a first step toward stopping the destructive Warner-Lieberman bill which would raise the cost of gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, and aviation fuel.
According to American Solutions’ research, 73% of the American people agree that with appropriate safeguards to protect the environment, we should drill for oil off America’s coasts to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. This belief is so widespread it is supported by a majority of Democrats, Republicans, and independents.
“Our message of ‘Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less’ is clearly resonating with hard-working Americans who are struggling to pay for rising gas prices,” said Dave Ryan, American Solutions Executive Director. “The voices of more than 100,000 Americans are demanding that Congress offer real solutions to our energy challenges, and that begins with drilling for oil now.”

This will work. We will be able to tell Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to kiss out rosy red. If Brazil can become independent, so can we.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:40 pmHey Drill — Any update on the Warner-Lieberman bill?
I heard Senator Dole on local talk-radio yesterday in Raleigh, NC and she said she was doing everything she could to change the current bill.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:48 pmAndrew Breitbart mentioned it on Gerry Doyle’s show today too. Gave it a good “talking up” at the end of the show. The Republicans in Cali fucked themselves and the rest of us when they shit on Gerry Doyle. He would have been fantastic in office. Balls of stone, my friends, balls of stone.

I’ll dig around and let you know when we find something on it.
That is the Cap and Trade Bill?
Or am I thinking about something else?
May 30th, 2008 at 3:50 pmAlready signed the petition and sent it to everyone I know.
May 30th, 2008 at 4:11 pmYeah Drill…that’s the one. There was a hearing scheduled for Tuesday by the the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee but I haven’t heard if anything was accomplished.
A report performed by the impartial Energy Information Administration tracks and reviews energy data) projected around a 50-cent increase in gas prices due to new carbon dioxide emissions restraints. The last time I found anything on the specifics of Warner-Lieberman those CO2 emission restraints were still included even though most rational people say they can’t be met.
How’s $4.45/gal up there in Ohio sounding to ya.
This is some important shit. Thanks for posting.

May 30th, 2008 at 4:55 pmGoodbye Natalie
Well, Soros made his initial fortune tanking the British Pound. They rewrote some laws after that to make such currency manipulation harder but maybe he and his buddies have found a new market they can screw with. It would take some very crafty maneuvers to pull it off but hey, they’ve got plenty of money to throw at it.

We are at 180,000 signatures. When I signed two days agon it was 50,000 so it is catching on like wildfire across political lines. Congress is about to feel the heat.
May 30th, 2008 at 5:54 pmDRILL, and not just the cool person who posts here all the time!
May 30th, 2008 at 5:55 pmDrill now. Build those above ground pipes that will also keep the Mooses and the Meeces that gather around them warm. Everybody wins, including the animals.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:14 pmThere is a link from Hannity’s site too. As for me, signed it yesterday.

May 31st, 2008 at 3:39 amI propose that when we build a giant petroleum processing facility in ANWR, we name it something appropriate.
“The Cuddly Grizzly Bear Sanctuary”
“FUQARABOIL”
“Bite Me Greenpeace Oil Plant”
It should have a 5-star commissary, serving the freshest elk steaks in the land. For dessert, “clubbed baby seal creme brulee.”
Then, to celebrate, I’m going to buy a Hummer and run over Al Gore until the treads wear out.
May 31st, 2008 at 4:41 amI signed it and emailed the link. I also emailed my senators in NC. Everyone should sign it email your senators and tell people when you hear them bitching about the high price of gas, tell them the environuts and the dems are blocking domestic production. Tell them to keep voting for dems if they want to pay higher and higher prices.
