I believe people are a hell of a lot more for domestic drilling to bring supplies up and prices down than the idiots in the Elected Class and the media lead the population to think.

And drill ANWR!!!

A Real Change Campaign to Lower Your Gas Prices

As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump. To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges.

Watch Newt Gingrich provide an update to our new Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. campaign:

Background

The average price for a gallon of gas is now $3.93, this is $.72 higher than a year ago.

The U.S. Congress has acted, but in the wrong direction. Last week, the Senate voted narrowly against reversing a moratorium on oil-shale development.

Federal officials and industry experts estimate that up to 1.8 trillion barrels of oil is trapped in the region’s oil shale, or three times the proven reserves of Saudi Arabia.

Laws and policies that restrict access to America’s abundant energy drive up the price of fuel and electricity. They cause widespread layoffs and leave workers and families struggling to survive, as the cost of everything they eat, drive, wear and do spirals higher.

Research from the Platform of the American People

73% of the American people agree that with appropriate safeguards to protect the environment, we should drill for oil off America’s coasts to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Someone on a previous thread about oil talked about saving our reserves and using the other countries’ oil in a strategic move. I really like that idea but the country needs to kill the speculators and play some tricks to get OPEC scared and moving more oil. More refineries is probably a key step also. Have y’all seen diesel prices?!?! It’s 4.80 or more here in central utah. This is absolutely ridiculous.

So, recently a bunch of you nuts wanted Sorelooserman for VP to help out Globalwarmingnodrillinglet the mexicansinmccain for president. Nuff said…

    Reagan T.

Diesel USED to be cheaper than unleaded!

If the President, or even conservative pro-domestic drilling repubs in congress, would hold a presser saying that they were going to make a serious and critical review of ALL the domestic drilling and refinery restrictions … this afternoon … I would bet oil wiould begin falling tomorrow morning like dead flies off Amy Winehouse.

  4. Irish Gal

    Drillwr: YES IT WOULD.

    Not hardly pardner.
Don’t recall anyone here saying they ‘wanted’ Mac for POTUS. I know he’s not my choice.
I just don’t want the dumbfuck Marxist Hussein *becoming* the POTUS.
If Mac is the only Repub with a shot at beating the fuck, and he is whether you like it or not because the Repubs have been acting like a deer in the headlights since 2006 minimum and spending money like drunken sailors for much longer, I’m supporting the guy who understands that the first (arguably the ONLY) true responsibility of the Federal government is the protection of its citizens.
Fuck polar bears. Fuck melting ice. Fuck oil.
Just keep killing the muzzie asswipes till they quit.

    Drill,

Kinda goes counter to his stupid green ad with botox Pelosi. Does he get it now or what?

I think it is time America to put the right toys in the hands of children like my nephew. If all goes according to plan, he’ll be getting a toy fuel truck or a supertanker for his birthday. At Christmas he will be able to put some derricks up in the backyard. Just the subtle reminder for parents about what America can do for its energy independence. Not so subtle will be the glow in the dark toy nuclear power plant across the patio from the miniature oil refinery.

NEWT would be the best VP ever - maybe even better than CHeney… It might make it tougher for McCain though to get elected…

  12. Tom in CO

Not drilling in ANWR causes cancer. ;)

  13. T-Bagg

 I heard that to Tom.

  14. Mark Tanberg

Does Amy Winehouse know that she could power her car with those dead flies?

  15. Dan

I don’t think Newt would ever accept a VP nom from McCain. The only reason Newt couldn’t run for pres was McCain/Feingold preventing him from getting enough funding to compete, or at least that’s what he told Fox News.

That being said, I do think they would be a good combo otherwise.

  18. Will In Oregon

I just don’t understand. I can understand when people support different ideals than someone else but I do not understand when common sense about those very ideals are discarded. What in the world is wrong with the people first they tell the everyone just put us back in charge and we will get lower gas prices and stop the war. Well here it is a year and a few month’s and we are worst than we were and still nothing is being done (more bureaucratic committees looking into the problem). Now the Dem’s blame the big oil companies but they forget or have selective memory loss. The Dem’s and environmentalist were responsible for placing legislative restriction (ton’s of red tape on the oil company). Then the majority of Dem’s in the state of Oregon believe just get rid of Bush and problem solved. Not!!! It just seems so clear to me. Get rid (vote out) both legislative bodies start over with fresh ideals and new elected official. We must have people that are more interested in what we can accomplish by working togeather. Now if it is that obvious to me why can’t others see it.

  19. Kenneth L. Hutley Jr.

Too bad drilling won’t put a dent in the enegry problem. We to think beyond that the entire America infarstructure need to be rebuilt from the ground up. It the only way to really solved the problem all this drill talk is just a distraction and a band-aid on bullet wound.

  20. Howard

America’s infrastructure is based on oil. All the trucks, planes, trains, ships, that deliver all goods to market run on oil. All automobiles, as well as all the gas stations across America run on oil. All petroleum based products, run on oil. Although alternative fuels most definitely should be developed, in the mean time America must have oil to keep our economy from screeching to a halt. In addition, our national security requires energy independence ASAP, so that we are not transferring all our wealth to foreign countries who do not like us, and who can cripple us by turning off the spigot, disrupting oil transport to us, or arbitrary oil price hikes. These are all reasons why we must be drilling for more oil right now and right here in the U.S.A. … ASAP. Nancy Pelosi and her cronies stubborn commitment to petty party politics, instead of realistic concern over our national interest, even in the face of 76% of Americans who want off shore drilling now, will end up in bringing America to its knees.
