Beautiful and FITTING story coming out today from Gates Of Vienna

Background on who she was:

Oriana Fallaci (29 June 1929 - 15 September 2006) was an Italian journalist, author, and political interviewer. A former partisan during World War II, she had a long and successful journalistic career.

She has interviewed many internationally known leaders and celebrities such as the Dalai Lama, Henry Kissinger, the Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, Willy Brandt, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Walter Cronkite, Muammar al-Gaddafi, Federico Fellini, Sammy Davis Jr, Nguyen Cao Ky, Yasir Arafat, Indira Gandhi, Alexandros Panagoulis, Archbishop Makarios III, Golda Meir, Nguyễn Văn Thiệu, Haile Selassie, Sean Connery and Lech Walesa.

After retirement, she returned to the spotlight after writing a series of articles and books critical of Islam and Arabs that aroused both support as well controversies and accusations of racism and Islamophobia. In The Force of Reason and The Rage and the Pride she states and articulates the threats to the western culture posed by the Islamofascism and the imposition of Islamic (shariah) law over civil law.

Oriana Fallaci Square
by Baron Bodissey

With the ascendance of Lega Nord in the recent elections, good news emerges from Italy fairly frequently.

The latest is this story from La Repubblica, kindly translated into English by Gaia:

VERONA — Goodbye mosque. In its place, Oriana Fallaci Square.

This decision was taken by the committee of Oppeano (Verona), where yesterday morning a building used by Muslims for prayer was bulldozed. In its place, the Municipality will create a public square named after the writer of The Rage and the Pride, which promoted a bitter campaign against Islam.

The decision to raze the structure which had been opened by ONLUS [translator’s note: Organizzazione Non Lucrativa di Utilita’ Sociale, a non-profit registered Italian charity] “For the success of Muslims”, was taken by the municipal administration, which acquired the area for €70,000 in order to transform it into an open area for parking and green space.

“My citizens did not want this takeover,” explained the mayor, Alessandro Montagnoli, deputy of the Lega Nord, “above all because it could create problems of practicability and cohabitation with the residents.”

Wish I could vote for a mayor like this….

  2. RC

Great to see!! Let’s all be very clear there ain’t no such thing as “la dolce vita” in a Sharia world..

 Cin cin Verona, and Viva Fallaci!!

  3. franchie

it’s not “dolce vita” there, it’s a remanent fashist spirit, that has never really left this part of “ITaly über alles”

though, the mayor has cojones, but I am afraid, that will not solve the problems, that’ll make the conterpart reactions even more revendicative

one should rather orientate the islam movement there, make it becoming an italian islam like Sarko is doing with french islman : teach the muslims italian laws, respect of the italian citizenship, because these people won’t go back to their country, wether one’s will have to “eliminate” them or assimilate them ; I bet the first solution isn’t “envisageable”

A legacy to die for–destroying a stinkin muzzleeem mosque.
It don’t get any better than that.

  5. TedB

The time for talking to and educating the muzzies is long over. They don’t accept talk, just a punch in the fucking face, and that says all that needs to be said.

    @ franchie
Its very naive to try to make the islam more Western. They simply refuse our set of rules. This effort has ben made for years now without any results….

Look at the UK, in parts of London the sharia law is a more important institute of law than the native one.

  7. franchie

    Chris,

may-be cause you apply to them the comunautarism rules, and “freedom of speech”, that we deny here, they are forced by law to integrate, or to leave

  8. Brian H

As for assimilation: here’s another GoV link you need to read:
    http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2008/05/sliding-into-irrelevance.html

“…the conclusion that Islam constituted an existential threat to the survival of European civilization, and that Islam’s influence on Europe therefore needed to be eliminated. It further concluded that, logically speaking, the various ways of achieving this goal could be broadly subdivided into three categories:

    1) inducing Muslims to leave of their own free will,
    2) mass deportations, and
    3) genocide.”

    #1 & #2 are no longer feasible.

  9. franchie

Bof, that gate hasn’t got any clue, just a screaming buddy !

Austria as per Switzerland are the both countries in EU that hire the most higher rate of foreigners, there used to be, after WWII, Italians, Spanishs, Portugeses, then Greeks, Yougoslavians, (in there, of Albanes muslimhood), then, north Africans… so the blah blah man has just to help himself and do the dirty works when it’s winter time for skiing !

    what a prut man !

  10. RC

Franchie, pardon me but I find some of your statements puzzling. I get the gist of what you’re saying, but like Chris expressed assimilation and Islam is a hard nut to crack. Typically assimilation in our countries can only be achieved on their terms or we face anarchy on our streets. It has a lot to do with Islam/Sharia itself which includes a pathological resentment for the western way of life. Your point about resentment of law enforcement is contradictory in my mind as what I’ve read and seen in Europe myself, Eurocrats actually spend more time and vast amounts of your tax payer money trying to integrate these ungrateful people - than say enforce the law. The posted article actually shows the opposite to the status quo happening there in EU, which is why it’s refreshing to see, besides Orianna Fallaci was a pioneer and crusader in the fight to wake up the whole world to the mess that accompanies Islamic settlement where ever that may be.

Is there a growing ultra right wing movement in Italy today? Yes there is. Could there be a reason for it’s recent growth there.. yes. The question you have to ask yourself is why is there? I could suggest it’s because, socialist eurotards haven’t been enforcing laws enough or at all, and that Muslim immigrant ghettos, mosques, and madrasses progress socialist agendas of remaining in (or being voted back into) power - it’s one western democratic right that they (Muslims) do not shy away from as it means handouts continue. They are also taught that the infidel must pay their dues, and in our western economies their jizya tax comes in the form of social benefits. I don’t want us all to be the same, I’d prefer diversity through distinction and cultural richness; not through relativism. Multiculturalism is a misnomer and a one world utopian view and international laws aren’t the answer when Islamists take over our neighborhoods. As in Verona, a show of strength and self worth is required to (re)claim what was always ours to begin with. Leftist activist hippies who march and parade alongside muslims there in Europe or here at university campuses, advance the cause for whom?? All of us?? We all lose little by little through their ignorance and at the expense of our own rights, socialists aim to sell us all out without a single shot being fired if possible - it may also explain why Libs here have a penchant for surrender and are recklessly willing to negotiate unconditionally with Islamist madmen!

Bravo to Mr Montagnoli

  11. franchie

yes that what the 1968retarded response, but not anymore in our country, even the lefties strenghtened their position without advocating it officially, the deportation of radical muslims and of illegal immigrants started when they were in power

though, you have to consider that the radicalism isn’t the majority, but being aware of the danger that they will convert moderate muslims has to be in our every day survey

  12. sully

    “…they will convert moderate muslims…”

  13. franchie

happy Sully, that my poor english to express that they aim to convert the moderated, but not that they’ll manage it

read the right papers, forget Belloc, shit he was also french !

  14. sully

    read a book sometime franchie.
    the whole book.
and not just something you already think you believe.

  15. franchie

    you mean Belloc’s ?

I have read it,your friend Dan provided the link.

It’s quite scaring, though it’s scarcely the approach that the intellectualhood had here before 1968 (ever read “l’étranger”), we just had to subjugate them, that’s what our army used to make and was criticed for by your gentle governments

  16. MikeD

What a fitting tribute to a great woman.
You are sorely missed, La Fallaci!

  17. Boo Boo

Ha ha ha. In Italy, of all places. Oriana was a proud warrior for liberty and freedom, and democracy. She wrote warning of Islamofacism. Good for Verona and its Mayor.

  18. Exposing Islam

Muslims do not belong in non Islamic countries. The two ways of life will never mix. It will be our way or theirs.
