This is a picture of a buddy of mine who got back from his second deployment to Iraq in December. While still in Iraq he volunteered for a third deployment under the pretense of a large bonus and the opportunity to GETSOME! He was supposed to get out next January right after his “3rd deployment”. However, through the shitstorm of his MEU transferring back home “they fucked up the paper work” and therefore he didn’t make the deadline. So for the past six months this highly trained killing machine has been patrolling the front desk of a gym instead of being an aggressive terrorist ass kicker! Oh well I guess. Now he has been put on patrol around the gates Camp Pendleton and trying not to let the mundane bullshit bother him. Semper Fidelis!

“The Pledge contains the words, ‘under God’ and we have many Muslim families here. So out of respect for the diversity of religious faiths practiced by our school community (parents and families) we decided that this year the students would memorize and sing the Preamble to the Constitution. At the rehearsal on Friday they did it from memory and to a wonderful song. It was very joyful and unique. I think you, and other parents, will really appreciate the creative and new way to open the program.”

THEY said it unnecessarily causes tension between Muslim and non-Muslim students … And that they are MORE offended for being singled out in this manner …

I have been unable to view the Youtube Site at all and all I get is a white page with boxes in it and no videos. I have no idea why. Some of the videos I have posted on other sites have the black screen with just the white tail spinning in them. I have spent most of tonight trying to debug my computer and search for problems and I have no idea why this happened. (For some reason I can watch the vids posted to this site but none of them in the comments section.)
Has anyone out there had this happen?

I read the KATU, Portland article and got to post an opinion that I disagree with the decision on The Pledge flap. At the time it was 15% agree and 85% disagree. It didn’t say if The Pledge is recited in the classrooms everyday. Also, I hope the Muslims families don’t catch hell…unless they did gripe about the English translation for a diety.
When the kids were stationed at Fort Drum, 10th Mtn.,2003 and lived off base near Waterton, the daughter helped out with girls sports at a highschool there. At the first meet in the gym, she found out the band never plays the National Anthem to open the event. She and some moms raised a bitch and found a liability shy ( their excuse) administraion right next to a major military base. They got it done tho mostly because of the number of military family students enrolled. Guess them being raised in the stix where The Pledge started their day, and The Anthem at all sports events reminded them of being part of a nation, connected to people where ever they travel in the country. So it was a shock to find out all is not well in promoting that to the kids in some of our schools.
