I’ve learned not to take anything for granted, and most often, I actually don’t. Took forty years. As I move through my day, hastily and focused on whatever is at the forefront of my mind, usually the task at hand, everything’s taken for granted because nothing is considered. But I review everything just about daily, and I come to some understanding of what life would be like to lose each thing I give a fuck about, rely on, desire, need - - including my liberty, and other fates that are also living deaths. I don’t think there’s too much that could happen that would carry the full weight of shock and no preparation. Complacency kills. I’ve got a lot of reason to believe that most people take far too much for granted, far too much especially for safety’s sake. But in that group of people, are also one’s enemies. Take care with what you might say to them, how you might act, because to lose the element of surprise when it’s time to strike, is to have taken your own success for granted. Surprise often carries the force of a lethal blow.

So China’s been getting arms into the hands of the Taliban and Iraq terrorists ( homegrown, Al Qaeda, Iranian-controlled ) for years now, and the exploding chicken of Jihad has finally come home to roost in a significantly portentious way. Cry me a fuckin’ river, and yeah it’s too bad your innocent civilians will be killed but I won’t shed a tear for them either, I’ve got none left, having spent them on the dead of our own front, and the personal losses of my own, which simply would never have happened if Osame B. Fuckstick didn’t compel Mohomo Atlas and crew to fly those planes into those buildings. Besides, no one wants to wake up to this shit till eonough innocent blood of the motherland is spilled, so with that as a given, the dead will tragically and horribly be doing the world a service. Every thinking one of us has said it, “I hate to say it, but I think it’s going to take another 9-11 for half this country to stop resisting fighting this war on Islamic fascist imperialism as aggressively as we should, and with everything from the Patriot Act, torture, to conventional war and nukes if need be.” And yeah, they’re called “Isamist Separtists” in China right now, but why exactly they feel the land should be all theirs and no one else’s isn’t all clear, but we all now that Muslims believe control of the whole planet is their religious imperative. And these separatists have their plan to take the land “waging jiahd”, so I don’t mind if I do call them what they say they are: jihadis. Once Iran has gotten what it needs from Russia, the jihad will point due north again, and fan out of Chechnya into Russia, instead of into Iraq where it used to go ( I lived in a Chechen terrorist compound in Fallujah, they were there, I know for sure. And the J-Dams knocked on the roof before we knocked on the front door, so we didn’t have to listen to any bullshit before being able to go straight to the (Chechen) id’s. ) Jihad is like kudzu, the flu, chicken pox, a bad idea put into women’s heads by Oprah, or the mania of electing your own ideals which you’ve projected onto an ever morphing lump of clay named Barack Obama; it’s never satisfied with attaining one small goal or nailing one victim, it knows no bounds but totality and a system of ruling that is totalitarian. These “separtists’ will become conquerers, annexers, and a swarm of razor toothed locust, ready to devour whatever land lies ahead. Had China and Russia not seen the Jihadis fighting in Iraq and the ‘Stan as temporary allies of convenience that they know would become a problem to be figured out later, but as the long-run threat to them that they are, we would have had the same historic alliance with them that we have with the Iraq Army, and this shit would probably have ended a long time ago. But go ahead you pan-heads and vodka bums, keep feeding the Rottweiler you’ve pulled off the streets and left unchained and untraind in your backyard where your children play. Yeah, just keep helping those complete jag-offs that run Iran build their nukes. You couldn’t be safer. Islam loves a half-christian, half atheist country like yours, so why would they ever turn against you?
China, welcome to Jihad, it’s an experience that will either kill you or make you stronger. And yeah, even weaker sometimes. Trust me, these “Islamist Separatists’ are in no way separated from the International Jihad Machine and it’s center of gravity, al qaeda in Pakistan. As the Jihadis abandon Iraq and head for Afghanistan, and some most asurredly head for China, I’ll be waiting for your body counts, cold as ice and strictly with an as to how your tragedy begins to move the war further in direction of greater multinational cooperation and aggression that it needs to go in. You fed the Rotweiler, made it strong, and did nothing to keep it’s natural born killer self. Good luck pulling it off your kids, bloodied and maybe still breathing. And oh yeah, in case I wasn’t clear, fuck you.

You guys hear that? That was my finally fired PTR HK clone. My second .762, not counting my 3 AK’s. The first is the Fal. Okay, won’t get upset about the price of ammo these days, instead I’ll look on the bright side of all this pricing madness that’s arisen in the face of the legendary mag and other bans the Dems are supposed to foist on us, should that black bastard get elected. And that bright side is… guns seem to be the safest investment on the planet right now. Don’t have to worry about some company’s performance or whatever. A weapon always remains useful, as long they make ammo that’ll fit it. So, I bought this fuckin FAL just over a year ago, brand new, for 1699. I can’t find that bitch for less than 2499 right now. Hate guns, love money and an investment you’ll make good cash on quickly? Buy guns, but just don’t shoot ‘em, cos if you only bought ‘em to sell ‘em, you never will. Once you start understanding the weapons, and maybe even actually carry one on you at all times, you’re fuckin’ done. “Done” as in the way people mean it when you’re knocked out in a fight or being arrested, or married or whatever. Done as in “Done for”, “Done in”. Cos motherfucking firearms are crack, crack that kills, the other guy…

Are you reading this while O’Reilly drones in the background? It’s like a torch-passing, only not…yeah…nah….
I was asleep, two hour nap, which is cool since I’d been posting about 10 hours straight. What was also cool was being woken up by a little bitch ( She’s short ) inadvertently right when I needed to get up. But it also sucked, cos I also want to go back to sleep right now, and I can’t really screw around doing something fun while I’m up cos I have to work. It’s times like this I wish I had Bash’s Xanax jar. Then I could take one, and it would put me down, and somehow, I would feel blameless, as if fate just took over. Anyway, is O’Reilly yelling at someone? Bout to talk a Marine in Afghanistan in a minute or two, should be..
Oh, and just so everyone knows, I’m here to tell you that the Mahdi Army still controls several neighborhoods in Baghdad, outside of even Sadr City. Now, this doesn’t mean that it’s a definitively bad thing militarily, because we also control most of these neighborhoods in a military sense, and we operate in them without interference. The fact is, the MA can’t even claim unchallenged or total military control of their own house, Sadr City. The kind of control I’m talking about is more along the lines of civic control - though certainly they’ve got weapons all about should they want to utilize any - the type of infrastructures that lend themselves to the “organization” focusing on the stuff fat boy was announcing here.
It’s a complicated situation - yes they still have a genuine presence of firepower, and yes they “control” ( to use the term my high-level military sources use with me ) some neighborhoods, but the reached an impassable stalemate at best just about wherever they are, and they are going to have to cooperate with, and eventually almost by osmosis be absorbed by, the central government.
And again, I’m passing all this along to you from a group of solid sources widely dispersed across the chain of command, and they’re all saying the same thing. Just about every Baghdad op order contains a phrase like, “and then we’ll roll through X, a known Mahdi controlled neighborhood, where we’ll do this and look our for that”.

August 5th, 2008 at 6:08 amPat picked a good industry to apply the skills he learned in war, Film Making. I can’t think of a more cut throat indeavor these days. A little of the “Top Gun” effect where a pilot can predict the future threats a few seconds ahead of real time derived from spacial positions of objects and many other parameters. In many ways you could be shot down if you don’t keep on top of the mahinations and people needed to get your film aired.
Keep your eyes and ears on those people and your finger on the “trigger.”

OMG!
Hussein is one damn minute up the street from me at my daughters’ (former) high school having his version of a “I Am The One, Town Hall Meeting” … I’m listening on my local radio station.
I want to puke. The guy sounds like a damn kid that didn’t do his book report, was called on by the teacher to go first in front of the class, and is bullshitting his way through the book’s plot and details …
Like the kid who got called on to make a sentence with one of the spelling words, and he doesn’t know the meaning of the word …
“Barack, give the class a sentence for the word ‘audacity’, please.”
“Audacity … I wrote a book with the word ‘audacity’ in the title …Audacity.”
I’ll fucking see what I can pull together later after the Messiah is done preaching to the area union/democrat crack crowd …. who, BTW, aren’t screaming and carrying-on the way you see them do in other places where the Messiah miraculously appears.
Right now he’s giving a hand-job to some union guy whose company is on strike and Hussein so ‘nicely’ sent food to the strikers standing around with their picket signs up their asses.
Oh, wait … here’s a woman ‘of color’ who just stood up and is addressing ‘concerns’ for our returning troops who can’t hold a job or buy a house … Gee, sounds as if she was fucking ‘coached’ on what and how to ask the question …
August 5th, 2008 at 6:44 amPS
I woke up with a lousy ‘crick’ in my neck …
I guess I should have hurried down to the high school to have Messiah Hussein lay his hands on me and cure me …

I’ve YET to have any of the Marines or Soldiers I know, that sereved multiple tours, to express PTSD.

Right on, and thanks.
Right on about the PTSD, for the most part. My attitude was staunchly like yours early on, and I was determined to come back a stronger, not damaged and weaker, person. I figured it could be done for a lot of reasons, and have been right so far. Survive a lot of combat and horror and shit, and if you’re determined you’ll just come back harder and stronger with a greater appreciation for life and what’s important in it. A lot of people use PTSD for attention and sympathy, but mostly as an excuse for not meeting responsibilities, and for those who went into the service as drug addicts, an excuse to get prescriptions for some fun meds.
HOWEVER, there is a lot of pretty-well backed up info on the negative effects of so much adrenaline, adrenaline pumped by being threatened and in survival mode as much as just being excited, that it supposedly can cause at least temporary brain chemistry and structure issues that lead to symptoms of what they’re calling PTSD. And I have a few Marine friends who carry home a lot of the darkness in ways that it disrupts their functioning because of their moods, their often fucked up sleep and the like. So I’m not exactly one to just completely dismiss the notion, the theory, of PTSD. But that is also a part of my skepticism of it being a single, one size fits all illness. I mean, it’s kind of a theory, and not a definable, tangible illness. I mean, tell me I have cancer you can show me a lump and blob of shit after you cut it out. Tell me I have shingles, I can see em, tell me I have the flu. you can give me a microscope look at my blood and what bugs are in it. PTSD, you can’t really show me, because it’s an idea. However. show me a vet whose got real problems, real troubles real issues, real off the mark behavior, and I’m probably gonna be thinking, some shit that happened over there, has caused some mental and/or emotional issues. We all come back different from each other, and our pre-war selves, by degrees. That much I know for sure.

Bash this video that I linked above has not been here as far as I know, but some of the footage is from another video. BUT this video has more footage plus the commentary. August 5th, 2008 at 11:04 amReference the labor strike at Thomas Steel in Warren. Why in the name of sense would anyone be out on the street smiling, laughing, holding up “on strike” signs and wanting passing motorists to honk their horns in support because they walked off their jobs and are not getting paid? Because the Company will not meet their DEMANDS. No money to support your family, pay the bills, etc. and these shit heads think it is funny.
Ah, the slow death of the valley.
August 5th, 2008 at 12:40 pmFAL = NIIIICE!
Wouldn’t mind having one of those, I also hope to acquire a M14 and G-3 someday. This is of course after I finish my WWII small arm collection.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but did you not also say you have a M240 (or FN-MAG)? One of the best bumper stickers I’ve ever seen: “Happiness is a belt-fed weapon.”

PTSD = Combat Fatigue = Shell Shock = Battle Fatigue =
A soldier’s Heart(Civil War term)…It is not new, been around since the beginning of war. The difference in 2008 is that armor and in theater first-aid has gotten so good, more soldiers are returning from the GWOT than previous wars.
The VA is not ready, they never will be. If something is not done by the private sector and Corp. America, where most Execs and board members DID NOT SERVE IN THE MILITARY, more

GWOT Vets will committ suicide than died in combat, many more.
————————————————————
You know … I equate that line of abstract calculating to the Global Warming ‘numbers’ …
BTW … I find the line of thinking that MORE troops surviving the battle theater and returning home as a “new problem” for society a bit … fucked-up …
August 5th, 2008 at 3:23 pmI have respect for you. I do not want to fight. White Flag to all at Dollard Nation who think I am fucked up.

Ammunitiontogo.com, Ammoman.com, Two of my most visited sites. Keep Stockpileing
August 5th, 2008 at 4:04 pmplease post my explanation…
Ask Marc Stockwell-Moniz who I am.
August 5th, 2008 at 4:10 pmI am not sure about that suicide number above, but my uncle who was in ‘nam only talked about it in detail once to his mother. He struggled his whole life after coming back and after nearly 40 years he gave up and shot himself. The VA helped, but he still found no peace.
Some can handle the horror better than others.
I do wonder what affect the ‘public’ opinion was on the troops of that war. We sent them there, asked them to kill for us, and then spit on their face on return.
Not knowing that what you had done was right for your country may have created burdens that could never be carried.
This war it is easy to know that we must eliminate this enemy. I hope that will ease the burden for our troops today.
August 5th, 2008 at 4:52 pmFor the record:
I did NOT personally call YOU fucked–up.
I clearly said:
BTW … I find the line of thinking that MORE troops surviving the battle theater and returning home as a “new problem” for society a bit … fucked-up …
In the last couple years I have read and heard media reports bemoaning the fact that our military medical teams and advanced equipment/technology is keeping alive more troops who otherwise would have died in previous wars from their wounds.
THIS digs into the MSM ’scoreboard’ of “Bush Lied, People Died” numbers, and the MSM is not only resentful for this, but appalled by the survival of these men/women.
Just one example and that subject you can also ’search’ on the web for:
The Hidden Cost of Bush’s War
Concern about fatalities among Western forces in Iraq tends to overlook another ghastly statistic: the spectacularly mounting toll of the severely wounded. Andrew Buncombe reports on America’s invisible army of maimed and crippled servicemen
by Andrew Buncombe
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/1114-03.htm
(And THIS mode of reasoning done by the same ‘group’ of heavy-thinkers that frownde at the “Better Dead Than Red” reasoning during the Cold War)
While I do not dispute your concern with “PTSD” in returning veterans from the war theater(s), what I do dispute (continually) ARE your abstract numbers of future “suicides” … especially outnumbering the actual war(s) KIAs … Given this IS a pro-military site, and I being a crusader for the moral of our troops, past and present, I would much rather NOT see careless speculation, especially regarding ‘future suicide rates’ in veterans, un-backed by scientifically empirical evidence. I would no sooner speculate on veteran suicide rates/numbers than tell some Marine/Soldier heading off to the T.O. that he’s gonna die …
Enough damn numbers have been ‘fudged’ in this war … particularly the number of Iraqi civilian deaths, and the unscientific manner/process by which the British medical organization came up with said numbers of Iraqi civilian deaths … which has since been debunked, but, typically, NOT addressed in the same MSM that touted the original highly faulty numbers fucking idiots like Rosie O`Donnell and the ilk like to ’spit’ erroneously around the airwaves.
But hell … That’s just … me.
As to asking Marc Stockwell-Moniz about you … that is unnecessary, as I DO read most of the comments on the site, although do not always comment/respond myself, so I’m not out of the loop by any means … or stretch of the imagination. I have my own opinion.

Condolences to you Steve for what happened to your Uncle.
I agree with Pat, Drill and you. It is an individual thing. All people are made up different in so many ways. Some can handle things better than others.
It alway helps when our troops know we stand solid behind them and support all their efforts and do all we can to help them with whatever issues they have when they return.
The burden of an ungreatful public is something none of them should ever have to feel and see. I think that affects them more than anything.
