NFL Monday Night Bashage Is Back, Bitches!

September 22nd, 2008 Posted By Pat Dollard

Tonight we get to watch Brett Favre play as a Jet…

Muuwhahaaaa…sorry to all you cheeseheads out there, don’t know how you feel about the whole Favre thing and how it went down this year, but you know the Jets are happy to have him on board.

Anybody should be. So, Pack fans, how do you feel about the Favre thing?

Sound off on that. LBA! The Chargers!

Just for those of you who weren’t here last football season…

I have been an NFL fan for four decades. The first NFL game I actually went to was in the Oakland Coliseum on December 31, 1967 with my Dad, My Grandpa, my Uncle Harvey and my cousin Conrad. I was five but I remember the game vividly.

That night we fukn stomped the living shit outta the Houston Oilers 40-7. We had a rookie linebacker coach that year, a guy by the name of John Madden. He turned out okay, I guess.

Heh heh…

It was the highlight of my life.

At the time.

Being born in Oakland and a fan of Bay Area teams means you are a 49ers and Raiders fan through thick and thin, in good times and bad, in suck seasons and in Super Bowl dynasties. That’s just the way it is. We’ve been blessed.

One of my life’s fondest memories is the NFC championship game on January 10, 1982. I was already set up to go to boot camp that March and I was sitting in my Grandparents living room with my Grandpa, my Dad, and all the whole family. We exploded when Dwight Clark made “The Catch.” It was one of the last times I was ever with my Dad and my Grandpa in the same room.

The beginning of a dynasty. we had sucked for sooooo long up to that year. Ronnie Lott was the fukn best safety to ever play the game. Anybody remember his hits?

Back to Monday Night Football…

Starting in on the Monday Night Bashage a little late this year. Sunday Night Bashage will be out for a number of reasons, Jihadikiller Hour is on Sunday night, and NBC is broadcasting the NFL games. Now they have John Madden and Al Michaels calling the games, who I think are the greatest play by play and analyst team ever in the history of the game, but at the breaks and at halftime they go to FUCKING KEITH OLBERMANN.

Gawd, makes me wanna fukn puke that sunuvabitch. So sorry folks, no Sunday Night Bashage this year.

We do look forward to a few Thursday Night Bashages, as well, compliments of the NFL Network.

Dude, I am telling you if you do not have it (got it yet Kurt?) you need to get it. NFL Network is a great channel, and NFL Replay is the greatest invention since instant replay.

So…are you ready for some football?

This thread tonight is to talk about the game, talk about the season up to this point. Anything NFL.

We all need to let each other know where we stand, who our teams are, etc etc…

I will say one thing. I may be a Raiders/Niners fan, but I also am a lover of the game and great players. For example:

I hated playing Brett Favre (as a Niner fan) anytime, but especially at Lambeau in post-season. That was always tough, and I consider favre one of the all-time greats. I love great players. I like to watch him play.

My list of players to watch this year:

1. Jamarcus Russell- Raiders second year dude who is finally starting. Looks like he’s got to put in his time and suffer through his first actual year playing, but experience in the NFL is all he needs, barring injuries, I see this guy taking the Raiders to the playoffs year after year. I just hope Al “Maybe we should move the Raiders To LA” Davis dies before we win another Super Bowl. My Grandpa never forgave him for moving them to L.A.

Fuck you, Al.

2. Tony Romo-He is the real deal.

3. New England Patriots-The fucking Dolphins smoked them yesterday. They suck without Brady..bwahahaaaa…

Sorry, Pats fans, just had to throw that in.

4. Aw fuck it, I’m too tired of typing to go any further…let’s just watch the game.

So, uh, who’s your team? How long ya been a fan?

Feel free to comment during the game as well…it’s on ESPN.
