A background adjunct to “A Brief Story Of The Voice

Three days before my perfectly healthy 32 year-old sister died, I asked her what she would be doing three days into the future. “Dying” she told me. This was the first of two experiences that cemented my certainty in the existence of a God as I understood him.

What actually happened with my sister was this. We worked at the same small company. I was 24. It was the end of the workday, Friday July 1, 1988. I looked up from my desk and caught sight of Ann, arms laden with a giant leather bag full of screenplays, a purse, what have you, as she was about to walk out the front door. She seemed a little frazzled. Being that Monday was the 4th of July, right as she opened that glass portal, I shouted to her, “What are you doing on Monday?” Inexplicably and unexpectedly, she seemed startled by the queston. “Sleeping” was her one-word answer. And with that, she was out the door and gone, never to speak to me again. She was killed on that Monday the 4th of July, a novice equestrian thrown from an unbroken horse onto concrete. “Sleeping.” She could not have told me what was going to happen in a simpler or less jarring way, such a gentle but terrible whispered revelation.

This was the first “freakishly coincidental” moment in my life that I could not simply write off to coincidebce. This time, my guts woldn’t allow it, even if my brain would. I felt the hand of God, perhaps grabbing me gently on the shoulder a minute , and I felt it to a point beyond almost all doubt. To me, when she said sleeping, her voice was God’s. And from time to time, many of us speak that voice, The Voice of God, without ever having any idea that we are.

In Iraq, in the story I started relating today, “A Brief Story Of The Voice”, i had the second experience that closed the books on my doubts about the existence of God.w

This time it was the voice of an angel, a very human one, but a woman when known only by that voice, for all intents and purposes, is indeed no more, no less, than an actual angel from the heavens. The angel was delivering me a very large message, while haunting me to the core by an experience that will guarantee that one of the greatest stories ever told of the United States Marine Corps will be told in the true bittersweet glory it deserves to be told in, on the silver screen, a story even more weighty than “Black Hawk Down”. The irony of the fact that she is singing a song written and instrumentally performed by a gay, anti-war leftist named Moby, is swept away by the knowledge that Moby’s primary goal as a musician is to inject his songs with an inspirational awe for God Above. As unlikely as it would seem from a limited perspective, he was in fact the perfect messenger, especially since the song in question was the only one in existence that could so perfectly convey the message.

I will complete the story and post the song in question tomorrow. For now, I’ll put up today videos of his music which I think very clearly display the sonic undercurrent of the power of God, and his reverance for God, not necassarily blatantly but very, very clearly.

I didn’t and still don’t know this guy-who I’d like to strangle for a lot of what he has said - from Adam. But like all good tales, this one grows even weirder. Shortly after arriving back to America, shortly after the heroism and tragedy I witnessed and was foretold by this man, I was introduced to the 12th American I actually exchanged words with. It was Moby. And it was just too much for me to tell him at that moment, and I was just too stunned by the eerie coincidence that I simply said hello, and then reached for a cigarette and pretend to melt away into the hubub around us.

I found myself in several vehicles that others died in either while I was also in them, or shortly after I’d been in them, or in one case, didn’t board at the very last minute. After a few times of this, it bothered me a little, and this song reminds me a bit of how i felt about that after it happened a few times. It was a feeling I’d shake quickly, I’ve never been one much for survivor’s guilt. If I was supposed to be dead, I’d be dead. It’s not by my own hand that I’m still alive. This song actually reminds me much more about Iraq than that. It reminds of what I’d learned that caused me to say to my wife an hour after getting back the second time “Now I know the truth about every body”. I’m still not positive why I said that and what it meant - it just came out- but I think its because I’ve seen what men will do, when they can actually get away with it. What a man is, when he is free of earthly laws. It’s not all an ugly story about men in those circumstances, but it is mostly.

So yeah, I hate Moby too. But when he’s telling me the future in such an indisputable way, and when he’s created a moment that I relive every single day of my life and has put me on fire to tell the feature film story of great American Marine heroes, many dead, I’ll take the warnings, the inspiration, and the help from whatever source it’s given to me by.

What better example than its own words and actions on the Palin situation can there possibly be to illustrate the unimpeachable progressivism, enlightenment, tolearance, intellectual superiority and humanism of the Left? Champions and defenders of those poor souls who may have fallen into some ill behavior or repute (usually due to some white man who works for a living’s fault), judged too harshly by the intolerant neanderthals on the right who just don’t understand that teens who get pregnant are essentially blameless, and need our love and assistance not scorn, yes, yes, dear souls these are the great enlightened class of the American Left who would NEVER do anything to hurt or smear the unfortunate and struggling amongst us, so very especially a young teenage girl who just made a mistake and needs our help, not scorn.

Maybe the Dems should just rename themselves the New Pharisees Party. Oh, but that would upset their base of perverts and freaks, you know, the good sinnners, not the evil ones llke the daughters of Republicans.

2:57 P.M.

Remember that horrific video of that teenage Yazidi girl being stoned to death by the villagers for dating a Sunni, or whatever haaji Sect of Shit her boyfriend belonged to? That’s exactly what I feel like I’m watching whenever these Dem politicians and media go after this Palin girl from the same moral highground.

3:43 P.M.

7:25

Ho Lee Shit….Rudy is ripping Hussein and Bi-Dem a new one, let me tell you. Live now. Gotta say, Rudy still looks like he would’ve been best for the job…

7:35 P.M.

Brit Hume summed it up best, and maybe served to remind us of something important, when he immediately said after Giuliani’s speech as the roof was coming down… “Rudy Giuliani! Not so much criticizing Obama as ridiculing him”.

Which is exactly what McCain did to Hussein for a solid week with that rush of “Celebrity” and “The One” type ads, a week which ended in McCain for the first time surpassing Hussein, and even in his best polls, Hussein had still lost 50% of his lead. Being that Hussein is not a serioius man of serious policy who in any way merits the nomination of a responsible political party let alone the job itself, maybe it’s best to not respond to him as if he were a serious anything, outside of a serious mistake. And it always seems to hit a nerve with the country when Hussein is mocked. And that only happens when the mockery speaks more truth than the mocked.

7:49 P.M.

She put the fuckin’ jet on ebay!

7:51 P.M.

I don’t know about you, but this Palin chick does not look to me like anyone to fuck with.

Jesus I’ve just been listening to Palin deliver what sorta feels like the most important political speech since maybe Bush’s before the Surge. There’s just something in the air that telegraphs the importance of this woman, at this moment in time. On Barack: “This is a man who can give speech about this war and never once use the word “victory” unless referring to his own campaign.”

and “This is a man who has already written two memoirs, and not one piece of legislation”. She’s just hitting the most important nail on the head, and it’s not that Barack lacks experience. It’s that BaracK runs for office only to help himself, never his constituents.

8:19 P.M.

You know I just get top fucked up in the head and the heart sometimes when a speech in this campaign will invoke those who have served this country at risk to their lives, under fire, to just….I just know what that’s like and I know the value of these men and those who will march into the same immortal struggle with their own souls, the souls of every one of their countrymen, and with the full force of the enemy, and to imagine a walking human shitstick who literally cares for no living thing on this planet other than himself and understands the value of nothing other than his own satisfaction, and who will never face what those men of the armed forces have faced, and are likely to face over the nest eight years, to imagine this leech with legs as their commander in chief, fills me with a feeling that I don’t believe a word has yet even been invented for.

From Bash:

Sarah Palin’s best quote…”The difference between a Hockey Mom and a pitbull? Lipstick.”

This woman…

She sold me on her resume.

She sold me on her ability to spot and attack the bullshit in The Washington DC system.

She sold me on McCain.

She sold me, with class and dignity, yet with the feistiness necessary, on the idiocy of Barry Insane Obama, and that Joe Biden represent stale smoke, not fresh air.

She sold me on her ability to govern.

She sold me on the fact that she is not only smart, but wise.

She sold me on the fact that she was able to use the stupid remarks of Obama and Biden and use them to gain Undecided and Independent votes.

She sold me that her character is good, just, upright, and moral.

She convinced me that she is “one of us”…and by that I mean NOT a politician and NOT an elitist.

She sold me that she couldn’t give a rat’s ass what the media has to say about her, she doesn’t serve at the beck and call of the media, but she serves The People.

She sold me that she is a mom and wife who truly loves her family.

Here, my friends, is the greatest speech I have heard since Ronald Reagan’s…well, pick one.

    “To me, when she said “sleeping,” her voice was God’s. And from time to time, many of us speak that voice, The Voice of God, without ever having any idea that we are.”

    I’ve had this happen to me. Someone said something to me in an off-handed way but the impact was like a sock in the jaw. Prophecy does that to us.

    About Moby: I used to sell music and am pretty picky what I listen to. And, when you become a Christian, you inherently begin to thirst for music that will fill your soul and not just your senses.

    You’re right about some of Moby’s music. It’s very spiritual and the artist at times seems to be searching for God like a heat-seeking missile.

    “Natural Blues” and “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad” (you posted the videos above) are from Moby’s CD titled “Play.” “My Weakness” from the same release sounds like it belongs in a cathedral. “Rushing” is funky, wistful, and sexy. “The Sky is Broken” is sublime, as well as “Guitar, Flute and String.” “Porcelain” became a big hit, and deserved it.

    Keep writing, Pat. People are reading and learning.

    You did it again man. You’ve touched me with your words, reached my inner core. Tears can be so healing.

    I lack the strength these days to expres myself in English in the way I want it. You know why.

    Never saw “Black Hawk Down”. I just can’t and I’ll tell why;

    Sometimes God’s voice is speaking to you and you don’t realise it.

    Back then, Yuma Arizona. Little did I know, I didn’t recognise God’s voice.

    That bar I stumbled in to, filled with big, strong young man with almost the same tattoo. No woman around, I almost turned around to walk out of there.

    Something hold me back and I stayed.

    The nervous bartender who wispered to me:”You’d better leave lady, something’s brewing”. But I stayed.

    The tention got thicker then smoke with every minute passing but I wasn’t frightened anymore. I HAD to stay.

    Hours later, in the early morning, I got back to my hotel and still couldn’t sleep because of everything that happened to me that evening and night.

    Young and strong man who turned out to be human. Who had an honour-code I didn’t encounter ’till many years later. So protective about me when a buddy did something they thought as “not done” in only the slightest matter. Their testosterone obviously thining when they found out who I realy was and most of all….what I was. Honest!

    They figured I was for real, not playing them a game, and so they let down their guard, showing their human side to me. I’m still so honoured for this, still feel so humble after all these years.

    The events told in Black Hawk Down, the events that happened after which Hollywood portayed this story, I found out later I had been at the very beginning of. Training.

    I just had the fortune to stumble in to the bar where some of these proud Marines had an evening to relax from their training.

    “My guys” like to watch Black Hawk Down, even for the umptiest time. They find strenght, courage, will and inspiration in that movie. I’ve been invited by some of them to watch it for three times now. Every time I refuse. I can’t.

    I like to picture those marines the way I’ve met them, back then in Yuma. With their story’s, their good manners, their honour and pride. I like that memory and want to keep it that way. I want them ….alive ’till my last breathing moment. I want to sing with them again like we did back then.

    I’ve learned to listen better, just in case I hear God’s voice talking to me…..

    If anyone is offended by Susan Reimer’s article in the Baltimore Sun, where specifically she wrote:

    “You want to look good to the evangelicals? Choose a running mate with a Down syndrome child.”

    …then here’s the email address to the public editor:

    (Mr. Paul Moore)

    I emailed him and suggested he fire Susan.

    By the way, Susan’s article, riddled with worn-out cliches and the obligatory Democratic talking points, didn’t mention that Sarah Palin has a Bachelor of Science in Communications-Journalism and a minor in Political Science.

    These are the words of King Hezekiah, after he asked God to let him live 15 more years and God told the prophet Isaiah to go tell him “Ok”…

    The King always has a prophet.

    This from Isaiah 38:

    What shall I say?
    He has both spoken to me,
    And He Himself has done it.
    I shall walk carefully all my years
    In the bitterness of my soul.

    O Lord, by these things men live;
    And in all these things is the life of my spirit;
    So You will restore me and make me live.

    Indeed it was for my own peace
    That I had great bitterness;
    But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption,
    For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

    For Sheol cannot thank You,
    Death cannot praise You;
    Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

    The living, the living man, he shall praise You,
    As I do this day;
    The father shall make known Your truth to the children.

    The LORD was ready to save me;
    Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments
    All the days of our life, in the house of the LORD.

    -Isaiah 38:15-20

    Michael Steele is saying that there are democrat operatives that are trying to push Palin off the ticket in the next few days by smearing her and including the stealing of her social security number. they are shitting their pants over this woman.

    McCain says its time to start fighting back. so i guess some of the speakers tonight at the convention are going to open up both barrels. should be interesting

    Intuition or a Guiding Hand?”

    BOTH!

    This has been around for a long time but is just finally showing scientific statistical significance thanks to psychological anthropologists studies. Scott Atran’s, “In Gods We Trust”, describes how our ancestors had “Gut Feelings” of the proximity of Sabertooth Tigers etc., that morphed into the modern day perceptions of the point man of a patrol, the prediction ability of our top gun pilots of immediate future events, and with the transponder and GPS technical abilites of our military, they all depend on ones training to interpret sensory relationships of spatial objects. He also describes his theory of the evolution of relegion from such a psychological landscape, that not only placed mystreious threats or sensory scenrios in certain “spandril” compartments of our minds, but the extra benefit that relegion also extended kin relationships to non-kin members of a tribe, nation….platoon. He deduced from digs and other data that those tribes that did not make use of that extending kin relationships died out quicker than those did.

    It seems that mix of relegion and training to predict outomes from sensory perception of spatial objects would explain Sitting Bull and Custer, us and Hitler, and so on. The best one to predict a tactical future, using what ever tools God gave us, will win.

    Thank you, Pat, for sharing this. At the risk of appearing arrogant, I am thinking that you and I are on the same path, or at least headed in the same direction.

    When I left my parents’ home in 1980, I believed in my heart that my calling in life was to share the Love of God with an audience through motion pictures (and later focused to computer animated features). I spent the next 12 years building my computer consulting career, acquiring the equipment to do so. However, the computer technology I could then afford simply could match my vision. More importantly, I didn’t yet have any stories to tell, and so in 1992 I had a Near-Death Experience in which I lost nearly everything I thought identified me as a “success in life,” as I learned the hard way how faithful God is to His Word, and how He cares for us, as I witnessed first-hand the “dark side” of the spirit realm.

    I spent years studying religious demonology, exorcism, interacting with and photographing spirit phenomena, dealing with victims of demonical oppression. My thought was to write a book on the subject, but somehow I couldn’t bring myself to really getting started on it.

    Then, in 2007, after 15 years of dealing up-close with the spirit realm, when Harry Reid announced “the war is lost,” God inspired in me a C.S. Lewis-style story of Good vs. Evil as expressed through the Iraq War, and seen through the eyes of a Marine Corps corporal on his tour of duty over there. The theme of my film comes from Isaiah 9:2 — “Those who walked in darkness have seen a great light; for those who have lived under the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.”

    A few weeks later I was introduced to you and your website courtesy of Cpl. Tyler Rock’s email that Drudge linked to. When Cpl. Rock described how he and his fellow Marines helped that Iraqi family with the gift of a generator and heater, I saw in that act the “establishing witness” for what God had been showing me in prayer, in that our Armed Forces were not only fighting to liberate the Iraqis from the “agents of evil/darkness,” but then were giving them a shoulder to lean upon while their eyes adjusted to the light, with the Marines leading the way.

    So, I’ve been plugging away at my project for the last 1.5 years, acquiring and now learning the software tools I need to work on my film, so I can take my first “baby step” of producing a short clip, followed by another, and so forth, until I have it done.

    And I already know what the second film will be, as it explores the interface of the spiritual and the psychological in how Evil seeks to undermine Good in our country as expressed through our fallen human nature.

    Anyway, I said all of this to encourage you to continue telling your stories of Marine Corps heroes; because none of us knows how our work is inspiring others, as you and Cpl Rock inspired me. Or, as I once told someone, “We should always work as though we are serving God, because we never know when He is using our work to bring about His own.”

    That’s my $0.02 for today.

    If I told you all about my own personal revelation from God, the cross that I carry, the things that I have proving to MYSELF, you would think I should be on medication…

    I have this feeling, that God makes “Personal Revelations” imposable to detail in writings or in words by the person who had them, without it sounding crazy to other believers and non-believers.

    The life I was leading and the choices BEFORE mine, were not good. Since I had this “Talk” with God, my life has changed, the rocky road I was on was smoothed and the cross I carry became much less heavy to carry.

    I feel God does this so humans do NOT go by the words and works of “Others” but by the works that can only be said and reveled to them by God himself to change their lives forever.

    Cool high quality pictures from Iraq, “Violence in the region has decreased dramatically - attacks down by 90% over the past two years. The continuing relative peace and order in the region remains a fragile scenario, with many former insurgents now acting as police, or as gunmen allied with American-backed “Awakening Councils”.”

    An email from Ireland to all of their brethren in the States…a point to ponder despite your political affiliation:

    ‘We, in Ireland, can’t figure out why you people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States.

    On one side, you had a pants wearing female lawyer, married to another lawyer who can’t seem to keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer, who goes to the wrong church, who is married to yet another lawyer, who doesn’t even like the country her husband wants to run !

    Now…On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate ‘Mc’ terminology, married to a good looking younger woman who owns a beer distributorship !!

    What in God’s name are ya lads thinkin over in the colonies !

    Jesus met a woman at the well. She had five husbands…and was very lonely…

    He CHANGED her and told her to GO…TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
    She did and thousands listened (and still do, including me) They saw HIS light in her and went looking for Jesus.

    A Japanese-American veteran once shared with me that he was in a foxhole during WWII, and heard a disembodied voice say, “Get out!”

    He shot out of that foxhole like nobody’s business, and in the next instant it was bombed by the Germans and everyone left in it was killed.

    He had thought one of his buddies had been shouting at him, which proved not to be the case.

    Later, he went on to receive a Bronze Star.

    If anyone is nauseated by Sally Quinn’s holier-than-thou attitude toward Sarah Palin, check out Wickipedia and read about all of her gaffes.

    Know how she got her job at the Washington Post?

    “Quinn began as a reporter for the Washington Post with very little experience [and was] reportedly called by [editor] Ben Bradlee after a report of her pajama party in celebration of the election to congress of Barry Goldwater, Jr.”

    “‘Can you show me something you’ve written?’ asked Managing Editor Benjamin Bradlee. ‘I’ve never written anything,’ admitted Quinn. Pause. ‘Well,’ said Bradlee, ‘nobody’s perfect.’” (Wikipedia)

    Bradlee and his wife divorced and he married Sally.

    Just got back from the “evil” CR meeting; lemme just say, the fine young ladies are really stoked about Palin being VP! We’re having a function tomorrow night to watch McCain accept the candidacy. Being Republicans, you know the food will actually taste good, with none of that “sustainable” food crap. Also, the kind hosts have arranged a 10′ Projector screen for us.

    I’m also trying to get us to spread awareness about ManBearPig. :lol:

The interviewer was complaining that Sarah Palin doesn’t have enough experience to be VP, and Gingrich responded by saying that Obama has none. After watching Sarah (which is my sis’ first name) Palin’s speech tonight, I think I’ll paraphrase Patton:

    i think we may have heard the voice tonight. i keep up with your posts and absolutely believe in what you were talking about. im sitting here right now trying my best not to sound like an Obamabot does when describing him. but something BIG happened tonight. or maybe just the realization that something big is happening would be a better description. this woman just walks into our lives and invokes the feeling that everything is going to be just fine, that we will finally be heading in the right direction again. so unexpectedly too. maybe ill be able to describe it better after i have time to think about it a little more. but one thing is for sure, the MSM just lost their fight.

  77. TBinSTL (just typical)

    Win or lose, we will have our honor, our dignity, and our self-respect.

    John McCain and Sarah Palin have an all too rare quality:

    They can stand up, say “Follow me!” and march forward without looking back.

    It’s called ‘Leadership’ and you either have it or you don’t.

    All too many people don’t really know what it is. Most of the Left seem to think bellwethers are leaders.

  87. Hardball1911

    Best political speech I have ever heard…

    Best decision McCain could have made, contrary to my original thoughts on the matter. I want his advisers to help run the revolution! They know their shit. They know where the HEART of America is.

    Don’t talk about us one way in front of us, then talk shit about us behind our backs in San Fransisco. I PROUDLY cling to God and Guns in that order, and with great antipathy toward everything the cocksucker Obama stands for, as well as for the anarchists destroying the very fabric that this nation was founded upon.

    Freedom isn’t free, and I am willing to pay my fair share. I am so profoundly stricken with a patriotic surge that it can’t be by chance. God has handed us a message people.

    God has just told us that this country, renowned for its sympathy and respect throughout the world as well as for the strength for which it stands, is not only salvageable, but damned worthy of the fight to save it. Our message must be not only shouted boldly from every hill top in the nation, but directly into the ears of those who would never accept our message, and driven home with a final and smashing blow to those who would try to disrupt this country’s well being.

    GOD, I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!

  88. AZ Patriot (Merchant of Death)

    As for Palins speech this was something beyond historic. Obama/Biden, the stupid fools, have picked a knife fight with obviously a grand master. With the dexterity, precision and grace of a Samurai Warrior Sarah Palin has left sliced into tiny bits, and left to be eaten as carrion food, the two of them.

    I’m sitting in total awe of what I just witnessed, it is surreal, time seamed to come to a standstill, it was like attending a major sporting even, a hunt and a funeral all at the same time.

    Part of me is still not sure if I just watched Sarah Palin speak at the RNC, or, Miyamoto Musashi skillfully dispatch an adversary one strike at a time.

    Whichever it was there is this ghostly voice behind me that, though barely audible, I can just make out to be saying “Wow now that’s a great moose burger!” followed by the smacking of satisfied lips.

  95. mshatto

    Good speech. She seems like a very quick study and she’s going to need to be. The Left has gone completely mental and Gov. Palin, the McCain camp, and the GOP in general better be ready. If she survives the onslaught, she’ll be one of the best prepared politicians in American hisory. The Culture War has just gone nuclear.

  96. fan

    After her speech I thanked God for giving us Ronald Reagan at the time that we needed him, current Pres. Bush to take on the Terrorists, and I might not agree with McCain on everything, but with a Ticket with McCain and Sarah, thank God he has made the choice for who needs to win in November so very distinct and clear. I know it won’t happen but would love to see a landslide like Pres. Reagan had.

  97. RC

    I’m not sure if it’s been highlighted here already, but John Bolton tears the Dems a new one also here.

    In a nutshell he deconstructs their smears on Palin’s foreign policy experience, equating energy security to national security.

    The two dummies on the other side don’t know what they’re in for..

  98. billie (Today I'm a Georgian)

    WSJ journalist, Peggy Noon, has just taken the gloves off.
    From “Open Mic Night at the MSNBC,” Sept. 3, 2008:

    “…Dig deep into Sarah Palin, get all you can, talk to everybody, get every vote, every quote, tell us of her career and life, she may be the next vice president. But don’t play games. And leave her kid alone, bitch.”

    :beer: :beer: :beer:

  99. dadeo

    I think what we (at least I) saw tonight was the manifestation of the first great matriarch of the USA.

    We have all watched with no small degree of disgusts the left’s love affair with Obama; “the one” who embodies all that they love about themselves. That is, one who admires his own reflection above all else and believes that everyone and everything exists for his own indulgence and amusement.

    In contrast, Sarah Palin embodies the grace and wisdom of a queen and the razor sharp sword of a skillful warrior. And she, unlike Obama, projects love of others and love of country without regard to self.

    I predict an implosion of the left’s “aberration of the second coming on parade” and a meltdown of biblical proportions of the demoncrat base. Dogs and cats will no longer live together.

    :arrow: Pat
    Yep, tonight we heard the voice!

  100. checkers

    And God still shines his benevolence upon the United States of America. Just when it appears all is lost a way is found, a gate opened. It is never in the form you expect.
    What we do to deserve it, at times I do not know, but I think small town values still saves us from the oft quoted destruction from within.
    Let us pray those values are never squandered or tossed by the wayside in favor of liberal reform.

  101. mike3481

    (A clarification - the 45th after McCain leaves office after 8 years, I wasn’t suggesting he’s gonna drop dead because I think that is highly unlikely). (his mom’s a spry 94)
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

    Also if Gov. Palin were a man they’d be saying she’s the next Teddy Roosevelt.

    So, I’ll settle for the American version of Maggie Thatcher.

  102. Pat Dollard

    Right now, I’m wondering if McCain could beat her in a general election.

  103. rightangle

    Thank you John McCain for recognizing Sarah Palin’s executive qualities. I talked to my sister about 45 minutes after Sarah’s acceptance speech. I know she has voted dems for at least the last 4 presidential elections, but tonight is the first time we’ve talked a little politics and she didn’t offer the latest “negative” that the MSM had on any conservatives. I think she is truly taking a second look at the GOP ticket. She also praised Sarah for her apparent genuine mother appearance. :smile:

  104. mike3481

    No, I don’t think so.

    She’d wipe out Hussein & Biden.

  106. TBinSTL (just typical)

    My expectation for the next attack on Sarah: She’s an Assemblies of God(a pentacostal denomination) girl, they will accuse her of being something akin to a “snake handler” cult type. Which reporter will be the first to ask her if she “speaks in tongues”?
    I’m not kidding here folks, that will be asked and I think they were saving that for right before the election but they may be panicked into trying it soon. Be ready for it.

  108. billie (Today I'm a Georgian)

    It’s not reasonable to expect that everyone in Alaska or even in Palin’s extended family will support her. Liberals are making a big deal of a snippy remark made by Palin’s mother-in-law, who sounds a tad jealous:

    “I’m not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she’s a woman and a conservative. Well, she’s a better speaker than McCain,” Faye Palin said with a laugh.

    What is not being repeated is Faye Palin’s belief that Sarah is a “quick study.”

  109. Brian H

    I just had this fantasy:

    During her debate with Obiden, Sarah asks sweetly, “Joe, did Barry ever confide in you when and where he took the Oath of Allegiance to reinstate his American citizenship? At 20 he still carried an Indonesian passport, and by law he had only one more year to switch back. But no one can find any records, as usual! So, simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’: Has he confided in you? I’d think it was something you’d have liked to know before you hitched your wagon to his star! And be warned, any double-talk or evasion and everyone in America will know and assume the answer is ‘No’!”

    To win this thing we all must get in the trenches, out on the front line and snipe those bastards till they fall.

    Make sure your friends, neighbors, relatives and co-workers
    know what is at stake, make sure they vote the Right Way.

    Every great culture has its sleeping guardian ready to awake for the last battle to save the people..

    For the British it is Arthur;

    For the Franks it is Charles Martel;

    For the Germans it is Barbarossa;

    For the Scandinavians it is Holger Danske;

    For the Iberians it is Roderigo Behar, El Cid;

    And for us here in America, the culmintion of all those
    great cultures it is………..Ronald Reagan.

    Listening last night, as Sarah spoke, I could see him
    standing next to her smiling and applauding.

    The corrupt city machines will be marching their cheese
    eating monkees to the polls on election day, scouring every
    alley and crack house for votes.

    It will be up to us to encircle those blotches of blue on the electoral map with a sea of red, a tidal wave that will inundate their anti-Americanism and put end to their bull shit.

    You comment reminds me of the story of Joshua and the battle of Jericho (Jsh ch 6), David and Goliath (1Sam ch 17), and Gideon’s battle (Jdgs ch 6-7).

    September 3rd, 2008 at 9:40 am

    Military Channel had a good piece on the tactical aspects of the battle of Jerico. It seems during the seige, Joshua observed that the defenders rallied their troops to the side of the fortress that his “bugelers” sounded the rally. Using the horns as a faint in the final assault, he massed his troops on a weak side and infiltrated enough troops to take the city from an opened place in their defenses. In Nam, this was called “probes” and used by both sides. Who knows, maybe Joshua invented this tactic.

    Well shit, just as I was hoping to party (pun intended) like a Republican tonight, I come down with a stomach bug. :sad: Need as many of our CRs healthy and out in the field as possible, so I won’t even think of going to the function.
    …Wonder if I caught something while passing an Obama table on the Drillfield…

    Pat,

    Puh-lease tell me there will be a Jihadi Killer show tonight, so I can at least BS on the chat, while hearing the wit & wisdom of Dollard Nation? Why should the dems get FOUR (4) nights of coverage, but we can’t get one?

    I wanted you to know we are praying for a miracle in your life.

    Must have missed your message. :oops:

    Thanks for the prayers.

    I believe that when people keep you in their prayers, they keep you in their hearts. It sure is the most powerfull gift AND healing.

    If you must insist on that burka, make one yourself.

    My suggestion; lots of tropical colours.
    But…keep those rollerblades on, will ya? :mrgreen:
